I would like to extend a special thank you to the graveyard staff that worked 04/22/24 & especiallyRisa.. There was a problem receiving my medications & Ibecame verbally abusive to the staff. They remained professional, kind & compassionate. Thank you & I look forward to a great new beginning.

Rooms are so so. The staff (including CNA and LVN) are ok. Their registered nurse and doctor are no where to be found. Very relaxed control over patient medication and its dispensing time.

Nobody's perfect, right? After spending several weeks at Mt. View , however, I can honestly say that this facility comes pretty darn close. I had hip replacement surgery with complications and needed extensive physical therapy and occupational therapy. They have a top-notch team there that knows their stuff, is friendly, and encouraging in the nicest way. Most people have heard horror stories about the nurses aides in nursing homes, but these gals (& guys) are the most caring and helpful team of truly dedicated workers I've seen. I worked in nursing homes in my youth and have seen all kinds. I'm a vegetarian, and after a few problems with my meals the kitchen supervisor came to my room and went over the entire week's menu with me to find appropriate substitutes. All-in-all, this facility deserves the highest rating for their high standards and care. (I was in a different facility prior to Mt. View which would earn barely one star. It, too is in Sylmar.) Pleasant surroundings and what seems to be a good staff of nursing assistants considering that convalescent homes have a hard time finding decent help and this is a Medicaid facility. Quite clean and pleasant. The food definitely needs an upgrade but you can bring your loved one a home-cooked meal every now and then if you come to visit at mealtime. Some people walk in and find facilities like these rather depressing but I have been to a number of them and Mountain View seems clean, pleasant and caring. My best wishes for all the staff members, I know that your job is not easy.

My uncle is at Mountain View Convalescence Hospital for two months already. The place is very clean and the food is good. They give his medicines and injections on time, and their therapy department is very good with him. They treat him okay there. It's just that the staff is too disorganized, and I have some issues with that. They're getting a little bit better now, though. We're looking to transfer my uncle to a different facility where he doesn't have to share a room with the other residents. It's been hard for him ever since he's been hospitalized for kidney failure. He's adjusting a little bit now, but he doesn't feel comfortable. He wants a place that feels like home and not like a hospital.

This facility is wonderful, the clients are very well cared for. Their needs are continually met, regardless of what they might be. The employees are very caring and gentle when working with your friends or loved ones and they offer a large variety of opportunities for your loved ones to socialize with each other on a weekly basis. If your friend or loved one has special needs the employees go out of their way to accommodate them. The governing board of directors are awesome, as well as friendly and make it a point to make sure that needs are met in a caring and friendly environment. The physical therapy and occupational therapy departments are very active and believe in helping their patients strive to improve if that's where the need is. Over all this is the best facility I've had the pleasure of being in and working with the staff with for the care of my loved one.

My diabetic uncle was undergoing dialysis and needed a facility that would be able to commute him to his weekly dialysis appointments. There were ride share programs in the area, but there was a small out of pocket expense that we didn't want to have to worry about on a weekly basis. We toured Mountain View Convalescent and were instantly drawn in by the neighborhood and the staff. The facility really does have a mountain view of the Los Angeles National Forest in the Northeast Valley. Staff members Stephanie and George were kind enough to explain all the care they offered and we were happy to hear that they do on site dental work. We didn't find that at other facilities on this side of the valley. My uncle chose this location because it is only a short drive away to Olive View UCLA Medical Center and they accept Medicaid. The staff was really on top of meeting his dietary restrictions and he was never bored because they had a lot of activities throughout the day. He stayed for four months before qualifying for Section 8 housing in a senior community in the Antelope Valley. I highly recommend this small facility because of the sense of community, location and affordability.'
