"We liked Las Villas. My friend’s mom was there for skilled nursing and they were very attentive. The sanitation was very good. The dining room on the second floor was very nice. It’s got nice view, it’s wide open and looks inviting. The residents seemed to be happy and satisfied. It seemed like a nice community. "

"I had great care after back surgury,plus my mother is there and gets great care,everyone knows her name and her medical problems and keep a good eye on her.The rooms are a great size so she can have her own furnishings around her not like a box hospital room. "

"Carlsbad by the Sea is a beautiful facility. We had lunch; the lunch was gourmet, and it was very nice but it’s very expensive. I thought the apartments were a bit small for our liking, but it was actually over our budget. They do not have a skilled nursing there, and they do not have memory care either. We dealt with one man, his name was Kevin and he was OK. We met a few of the residents, and it was OK. It was very clean and fine. It was a very homey feeling, the lounge area is beautiful, and they were having a birthday party celebration for somebody’s birthday when we were there, and there was a piano player. The resident’s level education wise was a little higher standards, and I thought the people were a bit younger too, and it was a very active community. We had lunch together, they served you at the table, and there are several choices that was very nice much nicer than the other facility we went to. "

"My Mom has been at Glenbrook since June 9. The staff is amazing, the food is great, and she is enjoying her time. The PT/OT staff is outstanding and the nurses are extremely attentive. She has stayed at another facility and had a horrible experience. She was very nervous about going to Glenbrook, but immediately we knew she was at the right place!!! A SINCERE THANK YOU???"

"Seacrest Village at Encinitas Leichtag Foundation Campus provides exceptional support. They have the whole spectrum of care. We are in independent living right now, but in the future, the care we need is right here on the campus. The staff is very well trained and very supportive and they provide reliable service. It's great. They're short-staffed like everybody else. They can't get the help that they want, but the people who are here are doing a very great job of trying. They all work hard and are very accommodating. We have a dining room and the food is very good. It's healthy and well-prepared. It's kosher. So, that restricts the food and you have to follow kosher rules. There's a full gym, an indoor swimming pool, classes, game rooms, and structured lectures. Just the standard, but it's pretty well done. It's an older population so it's geared towards that age group."

"My husband stayed at Aviara Healthcare Center for two weeks. They had good physical and occupational therapists folks. The attitude of the nurses and everything was very caring, very comforting, and very empathetic. However, I was not overwhelmed by the administration. I think they were not quite all together, but the professional side was very, very well handled and everything. According to my husband, the food was good. When you got into there, it looked like you were in a hospital ward, so it's all set up that way. It's double occupancy. There are two beds in one room. It feels like you're in an actual hospital-type setup from that standpoint. The nursing station and OT and PT station all looked very much hospital-like and everything like that."

"My mother-in-law has been in Encinitas Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for about two weeks now. It is a clean, well-managed place with lots of good care and good food. We are pretty happy with it. We chose it because it is close to us, and it has good reviews. I will highly recommend them because their overall care is good, and they have a good staff. "

"Mom is in Palomar Health Rehabilitation Institute. It's so clean, everyone is so professional, it's very organized, and they encourage people to get back to full health. They're like angels. My mom said the food was not as good as the other place, but she can be very picky. When I saw the food, it looked really good. The place is immaculate, beautiful, modern, clean, and very conducive to healing. They even have a garden. They took my mom out and had her do a little gardening as part of her occupational therapy. They have a little car, so they can practice getting in and out of a car. They have rooms set up with kitchens and things that people need to work with at home. They thought of everything. There's a gym. I've seen a putting green. Whatever their activities are, it's part of the overall therapy. The rooms are excellent, very clean, very well laid out, have windows with a view, and it's bright, airy, and cheerful. There should be more of these facilities around because if you're going to get better, this is what you need. If I needed one, I'd want to be there."

"My husband is on the waiting list of Meadowbrook Village is a lovely place. The facilities look beautiful, and the person who gave me the tour was good. They had a guitar player singing Christian music while we were visiting there."

"I was at Palomar Continuing Care Center for three weeks. It wasn't really bad. They were pretty good, and the rehab people were fantastically good. They did a good job, as far as I am concerned, because I got back to walking again. The food was alright. The woman in-charge was kind of unpleasant. I had a caregiver who is trained and very knowledgeable, who was working with me at that time, and they wouldn't let him in the place. "

"My husband was in Valle Vista Post Acute for about 2 months from August to October 2023. He was rehabbing from a leg amputation. My husband also has dementia, so it is a complicated situation. The care there was very good, the nurses were attentive, he was kept clean, and his wound care was superb. The most important aspect of the stay for us was the physical therapy. I can't say enough about the physical therapy group, especially Rod, he was caring and took the time to overcome my husband’s muddle mind. My husband came home being able to transfer himself to his wheelchair easily. They also worked with me to help train me on how to transfer him from the bed to the wheelchair, help with how to pick him up if he fell, and how to transfer him to the car. This has made the homecare for him much easier. Although the facility is older, it has been updated and is clean. The view around the facility is beautiful and there are nice areas to take your family members out to see the views."

"I was at Escondido Care Center for after surgery care. That was all I was there for, and it was fine. There were some little corks along anyways like sewerage problems in the bathroom and everything, but I finally got to move into a different room, and as far as my care went, I had good care. The room was better than any of the others one I had visited locally. It was definitely more cheerful than the other ones. The other ones were all so dark, bleak, and very depressing. The staff was wonderful. They had activities, but I did not participate. They came in and asked me, and I declined all of them "
