"We moved into Meadowbrook about ten years ago - one of the first. We could not believe the quality of all aspects of the Village - really first class design and construction. The pricing was quite less than the many other places we looked at - I told them I hope you know what you are doing, but was assured that the place has been totally paid for and has a good financial plan. I was elected the first Chairman of the Residents' Council and can vouch that is true. Wonderful neighbors. We are so fortunate to have found this place!! They have all levels of care and great amenities."

"My husband is in the Life Care Center of Escondido for rehab. The staff is very involved and they follow through well on everything. The facility is really clean and well maintained. The gardens, the hallways are shining and the floors are well-kept. Everything is immaculate all the time. They have an outdoor patio where if the patient can go in a wheelchair, you can wheel him out into the outdoor patio. There's only one downfall to the outdoor patio, and that's if somebody closes the door and you're out there, don't put the little wedge in between the door to keep it cracked open. You're trapped out there. And there's no way to get back into the facility from that patio if the door gets shut behind you, and there's no way to call anybody or anything. There's not a button you could push for a doorbell or anything. You're just trapped out there. They have a therapy room. The communication is very good, they have a great social worker there, and she calls me at home, or we talk when I go to visit him almost every day."

"I was at Palomar Continuing Care Center for three weeks. It wasn't really bad. They were pretty good, and the rehab people were fantastically good. They did a good job, as far as I am concerned, because I got back to walking again. The food was alright. The woman in-charge was kind of unpleasant. I had a caregiver who is trained and very knowledgeable, who was working with me at that time, and they wouldn't let him in the place. "

"Mom is in Palomar Health Rehabilitation Institute. It's so clean, everyone is so professional, it's very organized, and they encourage people to get back to full health. They're like angels. My mom said the food was not as good as the other place, but she can be very picky. When I saw the food, it looked really good. The place is immaculate, beautiful, modern, clean, and very conducive to healing. They even have a garden. They took my mom out and had her do a little gardening as part of her occupational therapy. They have a little car, so they can practice getting in and out of a car. They have rooms set up with kitchens and things that people need to work with at home. They thought of everything. There's a gym. I've seen a putting green. Whatever their activities are, it's part of the overall therapy. The rooms are excellent, very clean, very well laid out, have windows with a view, and it's bright, airy, and cheerful. There should be more of these facilities around because if you're going to get better, this is what you need. If I needed one, I'd want to be there."

"I was concerned about handling the caring of my wife when I felt it was time for her to require dementia care. Well, it turned out that I should not have worried. Here at Casa de las Campanas they have a great program called "Heartfelt Connections" that provides specialized, personalized care for residents with Alzheimer's and other memory-impairing dementias. Their cognitive therapies recognize the importance of both the resident needing care, as well as the family learning how to deal with the emotional issues. I am sure glad we chose Casa as the place to live in our retirement years."

"Just last month I found myself very sick and have no one at home to help me. I went straight from the hospital to Remington club. It was a pleasant transition, was placed in a (very Clean room). I was attended to with respect and attention by all that work there. The food was very well prepared and had great choice of items to pick from. All the CN, Cna were pleasant and comforting. I would recommend and if ever needed, would go there again. The Peaceful surroundings are very nice. "

"Villa Rancho Bernardo is excellent. It's a wonderful facility. It really is. My husband is in a semi-private room with a private bath and TVs for both of the people in the room. It has a movable divider between the beds and a very large window with a beautiful view of the landscaping outside. My husband can be difficult sometimes, but the way that they approach and speak to him is outstanding. If he resists, they will step away for a few minutes. Then they'll come back and try again. They are always very courteous, very thoughtful, very pleasant, and attentive. It's expensive, but I think for the quality of care, the facility, the location, and the medical staff, it is all worth it."

"My wife was at Poway Healthcare Center. The place was OK, although we had some issues with it. The rooms were adequate, and they have activities like bingo, guitar night, and all kinds of things both local and within the community. They provide three meals a day plus snacks, they do physical and occupational therapy, and they have a gym."

"I used to visit Boulder Creek Post Acute. The community was in different stages, like they have people in different phases, but the activities department there was outstanding. They are very good with the patients there and they are very engaged with the people they are working with, as well as the physical therapists there. There was this one gentleman, I don't really know his name, he was terrific. My cousin's mother-in-law, at one time, she was bedridden, and he would come in and feed her and things. I think that facility was very good with regards to that. In my experience they are very accommodating with the people. The place was clean. It seemed to be properly maintained. Of course these facilities would have a scent to it, because it is a place where they have a lot of sick people. But from my point of view it was pretty good for the type of facility it is. I know that these patients are sometimes very difficult and demanding if they don't get their medications on time. But as far as looking after the patients, they're always coming into the room at the right time, making sure they are fed and bathe. That was one of the things I noticed. Especially with my cousin's mother-in-law. She was not able to get up, but she was clean all the time, and every time she had a problem they always took care of it. I think the facility is very well put together."

"Room was clean, ALL staff was excellent, professional and happy to be there. My mom (85) spent 5 days after hip replacement, the staff was awesome. This is a great place and I would recommend it to anyone."

"My wife was in the center following a heart attack and horrible treatment at another facility. The nursing care is very good, Amanda, the charge nurse was excellent. The wound care was excellent. Christopher and Tim the cnas were very polite and attentive.My wife has been in 4 care facilities in north county and this was , by far the best. Laraine even liked the food. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Vista Life Care!! "

"I had great care after back surgury,plus my mother is there and gets great care,everyone knows her name and her medical problems and keep a good eye on her.The rooms are a great size so she can have her own furnishings around her not like a box hospital room. "
