"The tour at Las Villas Del Norte was really good. It was a nice place. The lady who gave me the tour was nice and very friendly. All the people who were working there were very kind to the elderly who were there. They pretty much had all the services that we needed. I looked at a studio, and it was nice. It was like a hotel room in size. They had activities. They had a swimming pool, so they did pool exercises, which is something we were looking for. They had arts and crafts. They have a restaurant-like setting for meals."

"Ocean Hills Senior Living has so far been so good, and I'm happy with the service so far. They haven't done anything that I would consider not up-to-par. They have a lot of activities, and they try to work with me to get some activities tailored to what my dad liked before. Their meals seemed fine to me, and my dad loves his room there. They're in line with how much other places cost."

"La Marea Senior Living is spectacular! My Mom was very resistant to the idea of assisted living, being a very independent person who had a beautiful home and someone who worked until very recently (despite being in her 80s!). The minute she walked into her beautiful, high ceilinged apartment and onto her deck overlooking the gorgeous canyon, she cried tears of joy. She has blossomed since moving in last April, she is very happy and peaceful, the food is great, the staff is amazing and very accommodating. There are lots of fun activities like trips to wineries and the ocean. She has made good friends. Launa is a fantastic Director, you can tell she deeply cares for the residents and their well-being. Anthony and the medical team provide great care. I can’t say enough about La Marea. I could go on and on. Instead I will just add that my husband and I often say we would like to live there ourselves :)."

"The Sunrise at La Costa is not old or anything, but it could use freshening up with paint and maybe some updated furniture. It's a little darker in there, but that was just the look. The place is very nice other than just having a little bit of a dated look. The staff members were great. The only thing with their food is that they have set a time for the different meals. There was only like either a one and a half or a two-hour window. So basically, I will exclude this one only because of the meal service restrictions. The rooms looked fine and clean. They have a window."

"I thought Redwood Terrace was amazing. I liked their core values, and I thought it was just great. They had something like cocktails and conversation and it was like they had some snacks, beverages, cocktails, and mocktails and whatnot. The coordinator was the one who assisted me with the tour. She was talking to so many people and she just took the time for everybody. She was pretty thorough and quick, but she took the time to show us an available unit. The apartments were like cute little bungalows, and that's what they called it. They had a courtyard and they offered haircuts and manicures once a month. Their core value was that when you buy into a bungalow or a unit, they had some kind of fund that if you outlived your money, you would not get kicked to the curb. I was amazed by that. It was reasonably priced, but then everybody would pay into that fund. They called it the Benevolent Fund. They had some hors d'oeuvres and cocktails when we were there, and my dad tried the cocktails."

"My father-in-law is enjoying being here. He really likes the place. He likes that they clean his apartment, and he really enjoys the staff because they're really friendly and caring. He doesn't need the staff a lot, but he hasn't complained about anything yet. He thinks it's great. Their food is OK. He really likes it, but he was having Meals on Wheels at his other place, so he's comparing it with that. Regardless, the food is good, and he can have as much as he wants so he's gaining weight, which is a good thing. The place itself is very nice. He does some of the activities like bible studies, although he doesn't care for bingo too much so he doesn't participate in that kind of stuff. They also take the residents out, and I guess that's pretty good. In terms of the value for the money, they're on the cheaper side, so it's really good for the price. He's on a limited income, so this is really the only place he could afford, but he likes it because it's smaller and quainter than others."

"I chose this community for my uncle. It seem to be very clean. He is in an apartment with his own bathroom. He loves the food and the people. All the patients seem to be happy there. He is 100% better than when he went in and seems to be happy where he's at. They have activities for him and for his memory. Everything is fine. "

"Brookdale Oceanside was very nice. I’ve been impressed with the staff. Their room is smaller than what we’d like for our people. They have exercise, movies, games; all varied activities. "

"My brother has been in Everest Oceanside Memory Care for more than a year. I cannot begin to express how much I appreciate the staff. They are very responsive, diligent, kind, respectful, and wonderful to my brother. He has been in a number of group homes and one independent living facility when it became apparent that memory care was the safest for him. I could not be happier with his care, honestly. He's clean, well fed, continuously monitored and they stay on top of his medications without fail. They have been a godsend to our family and my brother. Highly recommend!"
