"I was here for six days of rehab and I was pleased with them for the most part. I felt I was dismissed too soon because I was improving and I had not had any rehab except for two days. The rooms were very nice and clean. It was a nice, cheerful place with nice grounds. The staff was nice. "

"We liked Las Villas. My friend’s mom was there for skilled nursing and they were very attentive. The sanitation was very good. The dining room on the second floor was very nice. It’s got nice view, it’s wide open and looks inviting. The residents seemed to be happy and satisfied. It seemed like a nice community. "

"Carlsbad By The Sea was the one I liked the best because it was downtown and right next to the ocean. I talked to the people there and they were happy. The rooms were great. They had a bedroom, a full kitchen and a laundry. It was a great place. However, it was a bit expensive. "

"Mom is in Palomar Health Rehabilitation Institute. It's so clean, everyone is so professional, it's very organized, and they encourage people to get back to full health. They're like angels. My mom said the food was not as good as the other place, but she can be very picky. When I saw the food, it looked really good. The place is immaculate, beautiful, modern, clean, and very conducive to healing. They even have a garden. They took my mom out and had her do a little gardening as part of her occupational therapy. They have a little car, so they can practice getting in and out of a car. They have rooms set up with kitchens and things that people need to work with at home. They thought of everything. There's a gym. I've seen a putting green. Whatever their activities are, it's part of the overall therapy. The rooms are excellent, very clean, very well laid out, have windows with a view, and it's bright, airy, and cheerful. There should be more of these facilities around because if you're going to get better, this is what you need. If I needed one, I'd want to be there."

"Meadowbrook Village had a hobby shop that they said they could make a space for me in there. It's mostly woodworking, but they also had some metal work. It's a very interesting place to me because I'm a tool freak. My daughter was with me going there, and we both liked it. I just object to the big upfront cost, but its continuing care setup is desirable. The facility was OK, although it's spread out. If you lived in some of the places, you'd almost have to have a bicycle or a golf cart to get to lunch. They had a big apartment block with a lot of individual residences that were scattered around. It's like a little town in itself. They also have a waiting list, so you have to put your application in, have it approved, then stand in line for an expected time of six months or more. "

"I was at Palomar Continuing Care Center for three weeks. It wasn't really bad. They were pretty good, and the rehab people were fantastically good. They did a good job, as far as I am concerned, because I got back to walking again. The food was alright. The woman in-charge was kind of unpleasant. I had a caregiver who is trained and very knowledgeable, who was working with me at that time, and they wouldn't let him in the place. "

"Escondido Post Acute Rehab looked good. There was a lot of staff working there. They were walking around, helping the people in wheelchairs, cleaning and cooking. It's just a busy, busy place. People were coming and going with trash and linen. So, it looked pretty clean to me and nice. The room that we saw and the bathroom in it were very clean. If someone moves out, they have a list of people already waiting for that one bed."

"My husband was in Valle Vista Post Acute for about 2 months from August to October 2023. He was rehabbing from a leg amputation. My husband also has dementia, so it is a complicated situation. The care there was very good, the nurses were attentive, he was kept clean, and his wound care was superb. The most important aspect of the stay for us was the physical therapy. I can't say enough about the physical therapy group, especially Rod, he was caring and took the time to overcome my husband’s muddle mind. My husband came home being able to transfer himself to his wheelchair easily. They also worked with me to help train me on how to transfer him from the bed to the wheelchair, help with how to pick him up if he fell, and how to transfer him to the car. This has made the homecare for him much easier. Although the facility is older, it has been updated and is clean. The view around the facility is beautiful and there are nice areas to take your family members out to see the views."

"My mother was at Seacrest Village at Encinitas Leichtag Foundation Campus. It was very clean, tidy, aesthetically very nice, and they had a little coffee shop area. She had physical therapy and occupational therapy. They had a room where they had games, movies, and music. The majority of the staff was very helpful and attentive. She was very pleased with them. I was a little bit underwhelmed by the doctor on staff, but the rest of the nursing staff and the caretakers were attentive and helpful."

"My mom fell and broke her hip. She has no money, but everything has worked out fine with Palomar Vista Healthcare Center. Although on first glance I would not put my mother there. That wouldn't be a place I would choose. But the facility is well-staffed and they're awesome. I show up at all different times and my mother is well taken care of. Of course there are some people who are better than others, but there are some great people there. I've eaten a little bit of the food with my mother and I think it is okay. It's a balanced meal. They're great for what I would call a state facility. "

"Redwood Terrace is a good community, they have independent living, and also memory care. It's upscale. They have individual cottages, and the rooms were adequate. The location is convenient to the city of Escondido. The dining area was very good, they and offer three meals a day. They have all kinds of activities, from the local theaters to different kinds of special nights like bingo. They also have music and a piano player who comes in on a regular basis."

"This place was amazing. I had my father here for a couple weeks. The care was great but the staff were even better! I can’t say enough great things about the rehab team. Anthony the physical therapist was great and so was Doug! The administration was amazing. The administrator was very helpful in helping us with any issues or concerns we had. Very pleased."
