"A dear friend of mine is now a resident at Ocean Hills Senior Living in Oceanside, California. this independent living facility is beautiful. They have a gym, pool, and daily activities which keep all the residents engaged and happy. Their restaurant has a very diverse menu which also changes daily. The food is very good and their staff and chef are aways on hand to help in any way they can. Bill, their maintenance director, as well as the entire staff should be commended for their thoughtfulness and work ethics."

"I toured the independent living side. I even took my husband back and we toured all the different independent living areas that were in the process of upgrading. They were very nice and very spacious. They have the biggest rooms and facilities that we saw for independent living. We considered moving there. The person who assisted us was lovely in working with us, communicating with us, and sending me information with completely no pressure. It was not like, "When are you going to move in?" like a high-pressure salesperson. He was very accommodating and he took the time to show us everything that we needed to see. He even allowed us to taste the food. It was a very positive experience. The food was not bad, but it wasn't as good as I would have liked it to be. Overall, it was a good place. I was so surprised because when I drove up there, I was like, "No, I'm not sure I like this because it's on the main street and everything", but once we got in there, I liked the setup and the way the people were."

"What we really liked about Arcadia Place was the fact that you could walk out of your own apartment onto a patio, so you felt more like you were in a house that you could walk out of rather than going through a hallway to the main entrance. The staff was very friendly and interested in us as people. It was really a good tour. We liked the structure of the building, we liked the centralized location of activities within the building, and it was very clean. The rooms were a good size. I especially liked the bathroom. It wasn't just kind of a closet bathroom. It was a nice size."

"I toured Santianna. It was a fairly new property, I think, within the last five-years. It was very first class, nicely decorated, and had nice amenities. They invited us to come back for lunch at our convenience when it would work for us. The person who gave the tour was very highly experienced. From what I can see, they had quite a few activities and really nice grounds."

"My family is so very pleased with SIVERGATE! My parents have a lovely two bedroom apartment, wonderful meals in a beautiful dining room, housekeeping, laundry, fun things going on…and the kindest, most helpful staff! It’s all about the people. My mom always says, “Getting old isn’t for sissy’s”. She’s right, but the staff at SILVERGATE treat them like family, and we all appreciate it!"

"After doing a lot of online research, my wife and I decided to look no further. From the time we entered the building for a tour of the facility, we experienced nothing but the best possible feelings from every staff person to the folks living there. James did a superb job of explaining everything, leaving us without the need for any more questions. We look forward to enjoying the long list of programs and services they have to offer."

"Belmont Village Cardiff by the Sea was wonderful and very clean. They sent me something in the mail to go to a seminar. I went to that and was treated extremely well. They had these wonderful cookies and ice cream. Afterward, I had a really good tour of the independent living. It's like a 5-star hotel but really expensive."

"The tour at Las Villas Del Norte was really good. It was a nice place. The lady who gave me the tour was nice and very friendly. All the people who were working there were very kind to the elderly who were there. They pretty much had all the services that we needed. I looked at a studio, and it was nice. It was like a hotel room in size. They had activities. They had a swimming pool, so they did pool exercises, which is something we were looking for. They had arts and crafts. They have a restaurant-like setting for meals."

"We looked at Redwood Terrace and thought it was a very nice and pleasant place. The food was good. The apartments have full kitchens and washers and dryers. Everybody was pleasant and helpful. They have everything. I really can’t say anything bad about this community at all, but Escondido was too big of a town for me. "

"Westmont of Carmel Valley is a place that I would want to retire to. It is beautiful. It looks very open. It had a lot of beautiful outdoor space. I wanted to sit down and go knit with some of the women who were there. The different places to eat at looked lovely and open. It's a beautiful place where you could just retire and spend your days. It feels more kind of a resort. I liked their bar/bistro area where you could just sit for the day with a drink or a snack. It was big and bright. The downside was the price, because you have to pay for that beauty, and it's definitely on the high end, but if you had the money, that would be a wonderful place for you to go."

"My mother has moved into Gateway Park Senior Living. She is happy. She really likes it a lot. For me, the only downside to the place is that I had to move literally things into her apartment, and she is on the fourth floor, and it's a lot of walking, but it's good for her. There is an elevator that goes straight up to the fourth floor and is actually right next to her apartment, and I can get in there because they gave me an extra key. When I go there to meet her, I tell her to take me to her apartment, and she takes me the long way. I want her to take me because I want her to know where to go and how to do things, because her memory isn't fantastic. The staff seems to have everything under control. I have plenty of food allergies, so trying their food would not have been possible. However, my mother has said that the food is really good. Before, she was just eating frozen meals and bagged salads, and stuff. They're all pre-prepared meals. She can still do that here. I brought her microwave, and they have room for that (A microwave is one thing they don't provide, but they have a stove and a fridge). It's a very tiny kitchen, but it's definitely way more than enough for her. For the food, she has to walk over to the middle of the building to get to the restaurant. It's restaurant style, and they have a few choices that they can decide on. So, she has been really happy because she was telling me, "I had this today, and it was really good," and I'm glad to hear that because she used to be extremely picky at the other place, and she would be mad, like, "They fed us eggs every day." My mother has been so busy, and she loves their activities. That was a big part of it that made us choose this place because they constantly have something going on. They have a calendar that you can see at the front desk. It's very large, and then they have one that you can take with you to have in your home. She is doing chair yoga, puzzles and Mexican chain dominoes, bingo, and stuff like that. The common areas are very large, which is actually really great because my mother has a dog. They allowed her to bring the dog, and there are a lot of people with dogs, too. So, she can walk her dog safely inside the community without having to go on streets or anything that would be unsafe, so, that's really fantastic. When we toured the room, I was unimpressed. They said the lady had just moved out, maybe a day or two. They said they were going to clean the carpet, and I looked at it, and it was very gross. So, when we came to move in, instead of cleaning the carpet, they had taken the carpet out, and everything was now laminate flooring, which is fantastic. We love that. Putting down laminate is much, much better than cleaning the gross carpet. I think the value for money is pretty good. It's always going to be expensive. I rent out two-bedroom apartments for about $2200 a month, and this one is $3150, and it comes with food and activities. Everything is included except for the phone service. So, the value is really good because it comes with a lot of stuff that you would otherwise have to pay for."

"Belmont Village Sabre Springs is really nice. It's a beautiful community. It seemed like they had good programming. I saw the calendar for assisted living and for memory care. They just seem like they had a good program. The dining room looks really nice. They have an outdoor pool where they do activities, and the way that they kind of transitioned patients from assisted living into memory care seemed really comprehensive and well done. I saw the studio apartments in assisted living. They're nice, it's just a little studio and a kitchenette. Then the bathrooms all got the shower chair already in there, and the bars near the toilet. And so, it seems it would be very accessible. The staff was really nice. She was very good. It was actually the memory care coordinator, I think. She was very knowledgeable about the whole property and the different programing and kind of how people transition from one part of the property to others."

"Vi is a wonderful place, like a 5-star hotel, but the people there were older. It was absolutely gorgeous with beautiful floorplans, but we don’t like to be in a confined area. You’re living like in a hotel and there are people around you all the time. They have everything you would want there, like valet service, ta limousine, and shopping across the street. I saw people painting in an art class. It’s an absolutely outstanding facility, and I think it would be a wonderful place if I’m going on a vacation for a few days. "
