"Arcadia Place is one of the places I really liked. The one that they showed me was a studio on the ground floor and it had an exterior door to the parking lot. For me, this would be very good. It had water damage though, and it's not going to be available for another month to 90 days. It's just one of the few that they have there, but it's a very large area for that type of place. It has a little kitchenette, which is good. It's about 500 square feet, which is a pretty good size for one room. The other thing is there's a zero community fee. There are no additional charges, but the cost is a little high for me. It's $2700. The staff was very good. I didn't get the person that I initially talked to, but that worked out OK. The manager showed me the place, but when I called him back about availability, that's when they told me that they had water damage. A lot of other people were affected as well, so they have to do some repair. The cleanliness and structure of the building were very good. You walk into kind of like the initial area right there. It's like a meeting room, and there are offices along the way, and then on the ground floor, there's a large community room and the eating area, which is kind of restaurant style."

"My parents chose Belmont Village Cardiff by the Sea. They're on a waiting list. The first impression was positive because, when my brother and I walked in, we didn't feel like we were walking into a hospital setting. It was a very open entry, like an upscale hotel. It had a concierge desk. It was very airy and bright. They had upscale furniture. People were there, talking, laughing, and reading. It was the first place we saw where there were people conversing and having a good time. They had a beautiful dining room right off the entry, where they have a chef and sous chef. The menu changes. If my parents choose to have a fixed menu, they also have that option. It is built in a rectangular shape so that if my mother gets lost with her memory issues, she won't get lost very far. I like that the hallways are very wide, open, and lit. It was an extremely clean place. Everything was beautifully cared for. The tour personnel sat down with us, discussed finances, and discussed my mother's situation and the care that they could give her. They have up to 7 hours a day of care for memory people to slow the degradation of their mental capacity. The activities change all the time. It's very enriching, from games to crafts. The apartments were spacious. The two-bedroom apartment is a little over 1000 square feet, which my parents are waiting for. It comes with all the appliances. If you need to go to assisted care, the only things that are removed are the stove and oven. They had a pool and a rec room. My dad was thrilled that they had a very nice library. They had an area that they called their sports room. It had a big screen where they showed all the games live."

"I toured Las Villas Del Norte. Everything was outstanding, and for the price, that was even more so. You get a lot for your money out there. They were very helpful. What I liked about this place was that they completed an assessment without the upfront charge. They had more than one group doing different things. They had a lovely pool. They told me that they went out in the community frequently. They seem to have a lot of scheduled activities for the residents every day."

"I visited Redwood Terrace. I like the size of it, and I like the way the grounds are set up. The gardens are kept beautifully. What I like is that they have a nice two-bedroom, two-bath that will be almost perfect for me. I'm the first one on the list when one becomes available. The facility was spotless. Also the unit that I want has a washer and dryer unit right in the hallway. "

"I liked the people at Westmont of Escondido. It just had a good, happy vibe to it. The staff have checked on my journey several times, and it's been very lovely. They have an indoor pool, so that was great, and I really liked their outdoor space if you needed that. It is also pretty centrally located in Escondido to go places around there."

"Westmont of Carmel Valley is a place that I would want to retire to. It is beautiful. It looks very open. It had a lot of beautiful outdoor space. I wanted to sit down and go knit with some of the women who were there. The different places to eat at looked lovely and open. It's a beautiful place where you could just retire and spend your days. It feels more kind of a resort. I liked their bar/bistro area where you could just sit for the day with a drink or a snack. It was big and bright. The downside was the price, because you have to pay for that beauty, and it's definitely on the high end, but if you had the money, that would be a wonderful place for you to go."

"The Springs of Escondido was very friendly and very reasonably priced. They sent us home with a banana cream pie, and it was very nice. It was a pleasant experience. They have a full social calendar of activities. They had two on-site manager 24/7 who lived there. They have a library. "

"My visit at Oakmont of Escondido Hills was fine. The people were friendly and welcoming, they showed us around, and answered all my questions. The rooms are very nice, they're just at the higher end of our budget. The place looked nice and was kept up nicely. They showed us the library, they have a place to watch movies, dining facilities, and they have a swimming pool too. The staff member was nice, friendly, and prompt."

"My mom recently moved in and we expected it to be a difficult transition emotionally. Since day one she has never looked back and keeps telling me how happy she is! The staff and residents are so nice and helpful and she already has made friends and is busy with the activities. This move has been so beneficial for her physical and mental health, and it is all because of the wonderful people and beautiful facility."

"It was a lot smaller than the others we have looked at, and we liked that. It was cozier, had a very nice staff, and was very clean. At the time, we thought that my brother-in-law would need to be in assisted living, so we only toured the assisted living area. We were looking to get an assisted living waiver, but there was no opportunity for the assisted living waiver at that place. It was very nice, and they seemed to have a smaller group of residents, so it seemed like it was better for my brother-in-law. He could easily kind of see where he needed to navigate from his room to the dining room because it was just a lot smaller. The only thing is that the cost is prohibitive. I remember seeing a library, a nice courtyard, and a common area where everybody socialized. They were doing some activities there during our tour. The staff was very nice and very welcoming."

"My dad was at The Gateway, which is independent living. He really liked that place, but he couldn't stay there because of his memory. I liked everything about it. It was great. I liked the people. The staff was friendly. The accommodations were very nice and kept up nicely. They had a weight room. They had a lot of like barbecues and fun activities. He was able to walk everywhere to stores and stuff; he really liked that. It's right next to the hospital."

"I visited Belmont Village Sabre Springs. It's in the middle of an industrial park, and it's in a high desert area, but otherwise, it has a lot of the facilities I'm looking for. They did not have many activities, but the staff was good, and the rooms were well furnished. They have the amenities I was looking for. They have a pool, an exercise room, a fitness room, they have a number of rooms that people can use, and they have a movie theater."

"We toured Belmont Village La Jolla. They were nice. It's too expensive and too much of a commute for my brother. They had activities. The food was great. They had a courtyard. They had views. They had all kinds of interactions with the residents. They had outings for the residents. They were just wonderful. The rooms were big and spacious, and the studios were wonderful."

"I have lived here for over a year & found that facilities were friendly . The staff is friendly & helpful . They provide meals , Lectures , my wife used the health care after having knee surgery - I use the swimming pool , & gym .. we attend physical fitness classes . water exercise class we go on trips to local attractions we have met met new friends they clean our rooms & change our linen weekly If you cannot go to the dining room they will deliver the meal to your apartment "
