"I have chosen The Hacienda Mission San Luis Rey. I haven't moved in, but I have made a commitment to do so. I like it. It was the best one I have seen. It is close to the ocean, which I appreciate. It's in California, so the weather's terrific. The people I met there were very friendly. There are a lot of activities. There are all kinds of water aerobics, Tai Chi, and regular exercise. There is a learning center, as well as other activities like arts and crafts. There are four restaurants, and my apartment will have a full kitchen. I like to cook, so that's important to me. The food was wonderful, too. The other residents are very friendly and very nice, and I like that."

"It was too small. Everybody was very nice, but it had a lot of old people, and I don't consider myself that old. The rooms were small, but the staff was very nice and friendly. The schedule of activities is pretty comparable to every place else, and they have a lot of activities. I would just like larger units, but the atmosphere was very nice. "

"We are in the process of moving my mother to Las Villas Del Norte and she will start living there around October. I choose it because it has five levels of care. They have the independent, assisted living, skilled nursing, vintage, if they had a broken hip or something, and then they have the memory care. So far, the people working there seem good. They seem really busy, and it appears that they could use more help. I saw a couple of different rooms, there's a brand new wing that has been built, and it is beautiful. However, for mom's situation, it will not be the best. So, she will be on the main part of the building, which is older and has not been updated, but they are going to paint and place new carpets down for mom. It is good. It is a little apartment with a little kitchenette, a balcony, and one bedroom. They have activities like exercises just about every day. They have a pool. They usually have one or two kind of scene thing like a luau every month and on Wednesday, they go out to the grocery store and CVS. They also have a pedicure place that they can go to. I think it is good. I have eaten there, mom will eat brunch there again on Sunday, and she is surprised that she can have that every week. "

"The number one criteria on my mom's list was water aerobics and having a pool, so she liked that Westmont Town Court had an indoor pool with water aerobics and a jacuzzi. The person that helped me with the tour was wonderful. She was really nice. We had lunch there and it was awesome. Everything was delicious. I got a chicken wrap and my mom got the same thing. The facility was clean. It looks safe and friendly. They had anything and everything you can imagine. We liked it."

"Redwood Terrace is very good. I particularly like the 2-bedroom, backyard, front yard, security, and the people were courteous. They helped me to decide how I would be set up there. They showed me what it was like for the dining, physical therapy, exercise, fitness, skilled nursing, and assisted living. Everything looked good. The food was good and the dining area was fine. They had plenty of activities. They had a pool and a separate fitness facility which is very nice. The place was not something you'd call extravagant, just basic good stuff."

"Our Dad had a stroke in early May 2023 and at 94 lost his ability to walk and take care of himself. We live in Encinitas, so wanted him to be close to us. After going to look at several Assisted Living/Independent Living Facilities we were quite surprised to find that Westmont Of Encinitas was far superior than all the others and actually was quite less in cost. The facility is just slightly over two years old and the staff is friendly, food is great and the activities are plentiful. Just in a short 2 months he is walking on his own, living in his great bright 1 bedroom apartment and going to Bridge 3 times a week, going to Ice Cream socials, and exercising and building his strength up with their great Physical Therapists. We brought him down from Costa Mesa to Westmont of Encinitas on May 25, 2023 and he is thriving in such a short time. I would highly recommend Westmont of Encinitas for any loved one. Our father is happy and social and healthy now. This facility is a 5 Stars for sure."

"Belmont Village Cardiff by the Sea was fine. It was new and clean, but not what I was looking for. The director was very, very nice. She was helpful. It was just not what I was looking for. I didn't feel comfortable. The environment wasn't appealing to me. I saw two people sitting on chairs in the reception area. They were very elderly. The staff was really good. It looked clean and well-kept."

"We saw the independent living cottages at Oakmont of Escondido Hills. It was fine, just a little bit old. It was like a little, spacious townhouse. It looked like it was kept up nicely even though it was older. It had good ADA accessibilities, and I thought it would be good for my parents. I think they had a beauty salon and bingo, other activities, and a pool. "

"The caregiver team is simply wonderful, to the last worker. They show infinite patience and compassion. They are competent and master their difficult task with competence."

". I was very impressed with the facility, it has a resort feel. It is very new. The common areas are open and airy. The food was excellent with a wide variety of choices. The courtyard and pool are very inviting. All of the staff that I met were very friendly and helpful."

"I went here. Just getting all the information and them answering our questions, being able to see it. The location was really good because she's lived in Poway for over 60 years. So that was kind of a good fit. And, I guess she has a friend there too, so that kind of added a little extra to it. The room looked good. I didn't see the exact room she would be getting. I saw more of a studio-type thing instead of a one-bedroom, but I think she might be getting a one-bedroom. So, I didn't technically see that. But it seemed like it was sufficient space for her needs."

"I went to Cypress at Junipers Senior Apartments. I thought it was awesome. It's new, it's clean, and the surrounding areas are nice. The people that were there that we talked to were nice. It was great. They're brand new. The apartment is pristine and clean. It was a good size. It was very nice. A friend of mine is moving there from Hawaii, so I'm considering getting a place there."

"It is very close to my residence. They seem kind of nuts-and-bolts operation, and I think it's the most affordable. To me, it kind of looked a little more clinical and it wasn't quite as inviting esthetically as the other two that I toured, but they were definitely operating very efficiently. They were in a very noisy location. They've been around for a while, but they were remodeling units."

"Belmont village was very nice, and they provided independent living all the way to memory care. The staff member answered all my questions, gave me a tour, and I thought they were very knowledgeable. The independent apartments looked very nice, the dining area is nice, I didn't try the food, but it looked good. They kept it really clean. The memory care also looked good."
