"My younger brother had a medical problem, and he is in Arbor Hills. We have been going to that place a lot. I am mostly very satisfied with the care he has. He has 3 meals a day. He is bedridden, so he needs help with everything. He also has some physical therapy. I think the staff has a really good attitude. They seem to be very busy, very efficient, and very cheerful. Everything is very clean. My only complaint -- and I think my brother will agree -- is that sometimes it is too noisy. Especially when you are not feeling well, he probably will like to have his own room or at least a quieter situation with TV and other patients. I have not tried the food myself, but the menu seems very good. He is on a fruit diet, and he does not complain. He likes food, and he is not picky. I like Arbor Hills. "

"I was very impressed with University Care Center in San Diego. They had a very nice facility with professional Cali-style landscaping, and a very clean interior with a welcoming atmosphere that was nothing like a "typical nursing home." They were located right next to a hospital, and were within walking distance of a very large park where the elderly could go sit with their visitors. My client had everything nice to say about this facility, from the food to the staff to his treatment - which is the most important part. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone in the San Diego area. "

"The staff at Mount Miguel Covenant Village is competent, caring, and skillful. My brother was in a 2-bedroom; the rooms were not huge, but they were adequate. There was enough space for a visitor to come and for him to get in and out of bed. There’s physical therapy, and there are some group activities. I’ve never eaten there, but he thought the food was fine. I think there was a genuine interest in the patient. He had a good experience there. "

"My father was at Country Manor La Mesa. The setting was nice. The staff was about average. He had occupational therapy and physical therapy there. He was also in a respiratory program. It had a nice outdoor area, and the residents could go inside or outside. All of that was fine. They had manicures, pedicures, or haircuts. They had people that come in once a month, and you could sign up on a list to make sure that you get your haircut or whatever when they come in. They had a really good social coordinator. They did lots of things. Every day there'd be one or two different events that would happen there. If you wanted to participate, you could; if not, you didn't have to. He stayed there for three months one time, and then one month another time."

"I enjoyed my stay at Grossmont because they gave more attention. I thought the food and staff were really great. They were friendly and concerned. They gave good attention to you like when they gave you a shower, they said: "You got to be careful" and they watched so you wouldn't fall. I told them that I was okay when I was by myself, but they were still concerned. There were two people in a room like me and another lady and each of us had our own flat TV and it was up on the wall. It comfortable because it was up and high so if you were laying down, you could still see it. We also had our own little cupboard area where we could put our personal items and also a bed side table. "

"I moved my mom to Brighton Place. I liked their customer service much better, and the people seemed to be more caring. It’s an older building, but it is clean, and the nursing staff is more attentive. "

"There are a lot of things that I could award this nursing center with, but I will just focus on a few of them. First off, I would say they are professional. They handle every situation calmly and effectively. When my grandmother was checked into the facility, I had my suspicions. I have heard the kind of things that happen in nursing centers and was weary to let anything happen to my grandmother. My opinion was instantly changed when I met the staff and personnel at the center. From the kind and responsive customer service, to the optimistic faces of the elderly, I knew that I could put my trust into this place. Another surprising thing is the food that they serve is actually GOOD! Who would have thought!? You would normally think of nursing home food as hospital food but it is far from that. All I can say is that if you know of an elderly person in need of finding a good home, this will be the perfect fit for them. "

"The staff here are awesome. Quick to help, always have positive outlook. Activity department has lots of activities, a couple of times we participated, and I wasn’t disappointed. If you miss an activity, you can ask them and they’ll come at your Room. The only thing that disappointed me was the food. My husband had to buy food from outside so I could eat."

"My brother was at Castle Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center twice, both times for short term. What we liked the most was the fact that they have a really good physical therapy available. There's plenty of staff, so you're constantly getting the care that you need, whether it's to get showers or meals brought to you. They actually have a smoking area, and my brother's a smoker, so there's a patio that he was able to go to or to be taken to in order to smoke. His needs were met, and that they were really good about getting his laundry done. The managers were available onsite, whether it be their coordinators or their senior nurses. Everything about that facility was positive because they were able to address stuff in a timely manner. They even had a little bird aviary right in the front lobby. They have a nice, large entertainment area where the guests can get together with the person they're visiting, and they can watch TV. They have a library, and they have people come in to sing, dance, and give presentations. There are plenty of community events going on. A lot of people didn't like the place, but the reason they didn't like it was the variety of food, because you don't have menu choices. There's very limited parking. You have to park nearly a block away and then hike down a hill, and it's pretty unsteady for people who are older trying to access the place to visit friends and loved ones. Security was good. During daylight hours, they had someone watching the door in the lobby, and people signed in and out. Especially during COVID, people were asked to check their temperatures to make sure they weren't running a fever. So they took really good precautions on monitoring people coming and going. Doctor access was also a problem there. The first time my brother was there, he was never seen by a doctor. I think part of their challenge is the fact that they were pretty crowded as well. They did the best they could with what they had. There's plenty of room for improvement. They had a high staff turnover. Many were excellent, but you had more that were just there because that was where they wanted to work for whatever reason. They weren't really there as caregivers. We had a good experience with most of the head nurses, and we had some good nursing experiences, but for every good nursing experience, there were at least three bad ones. My brother hated the food. Family and friends were bringing him food. It was dated, but maintained and clean. Everything that was needed was there."

"My mom is in a skilled nursing facility in Chase Care Center. The facility itself is an older building and it definitely needs upgrade. They have small rooms. My mom is in a room with another lady and it is really crowded. Most of the staff is involved with the patients. They work very hard to treat and take care of their patients. "

"All of the staff from housekeeping, maintenance, dietary, all of the nurses and CNA's are ALL so courteous and professional. And Shayne is so sweet compassion and professional. I love Shayne with an agape love as if she was my own daughter. I'm 71 years old. An the social services office staff are so awesome and helpful. I love and appreciate ALL of the PT staff, especially Ron, Jessica, Lisa, Angie and Alex."

"I want to thank the staff here; everyone was working hard to make me feel comfortable. If I ever get sick again I would not mind to be hospitalized here. Thank you For staying there for all almost 3 weeks, I really appreciate all the employees being so nice to me.
