"It was a difficult time last year for our family - my dad who had been in and out of the hospital due to infection on his foot which later unfortunately deteriorated and had to be amputated (since he was also diabetic). The Paradise Valley Manor practically became our second home. The place was always neat, the room where my father stayed was always well kept. The head admin and staff were all nice. Most of the nurses and aids were Filipinos, as a fellow Filipino we really felt the warmth and care here. The nurses were focused on the patient's recovery. My only concern here was that their resident doctor at one time made incorrect findings and was slow in identifying the problem with my dad when he caught fever. We checked him out and went back to the hospital to realize the fever was caused by something else. Nevertheless since our family was always with our my father we went back to Paradise for his therapy and recovery, My father's almost three months stay here was generally really nice - our family made good lasting friendships here. Our family has experienced the challenges of having one of our very loved one suffered with medical issues, a good place where you will be sure other people will give the same set of care you yourself will give is very important. Paradise Valley Manor can give you this assurance. "

"My brother was at Castle Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center twice, both times for short term. What we liked the most was the fact that they have a really good physical therapy available. There's plenty of staff, so you're constantly getting the care that you need, whether it's to get showers or meals brought to you. They actually have a smoking area, and my brother's a smoker, so there's a patio that he was able to go to or to be taken to in order to smoke. His needs were met, and that they were really good about getting his laundry done. The managers were available onsite, whether it be their coordinators or their senior nurses. Everything about that facility was positive because they were able to address stuff in a timely manner. They even had a little bird aviary right in the front lobby. They have a nice, large entertainment area where the guests can get together with the person they're visiting, and they can watch TV. They have a library, and they have people come in to sing, dance, and give presentations. There are plenty of community events going on. A lot of people didn't like the place, but the reason they didn't like it was the variety of food, because you don't have menu choices. There's very limited parking. You have to park nearly a block away and then hike down a hill, and it's pretty unsteady for people who are older trying to access the place to visit friends and loved ones. Security was good. During daylight hours, they had someone watching the door in the lobby, and people signed in and out. Especially during COVID, people were asked to check their temperatures to make sure they weren't running a fever. So they took really good precautions on monitoring people coming and going. Doctor access was also a problem there. The first time my brother was there, he was never seen by a doctor. I think part of their challenge is the fact that they were pretty crowded as well. They did the best they could with what they had. There's plenty of room for improvement. They had a high staff turnover. Many were excellent, but you had more that were just there because that was where they wanted to work for whatever reason. They weren't really there as caregivers. We had a good experience with most of the head nurses, and we had some good nursing experiences, but for every good nursing experience, there were at least three bad ones. My brother hated the food. Family and friends were bringing him food. It was dated, but maintained and clean. Everything that was needed was there."

"The one that we cared a lot about was called Mount Miguel Covenant Village. Prior to getting to the facility, the neighborhood around is not a safe area. The facility itself is very, very nice. The units are very nice; they're very spacious. Each individual facility has a patio or a deck with storage on either end. It was just something I felt that would be satisfactory for us. It's a very big facility. The grounds are absolutely wonderful. They have koi ponds; they have waterfalls. They have outside cooking facilities, picnic areas, and a lot of walking trails. It's very, very well landscaped. It's just a beautiful facility. "

"I moved my mom to Brighton Place. I liked their customer service much better, and the people seemed to be more caring. It’s an older building, but it is clean, and the nursing staff is more attentive. "

"I’ve visited this facility many many times with a friend who’s brother is in the sub acute unit. I’ve seen the renovations that have been completed and the changes in management and I’ve definitely seen a change for the better. The staff is always so kind and goes out of their way to check on us to see if we have any questions about the services being provided. I hope to never have a family member in this medical situation, but if I do I’d definitely have them cared for at Golden Hill. "

"There are a lot of things that I could award this nursing center with, but I will just focus on a few of them. First off, I would say they are professional. They handle every situation calmly and effectively. When my grandmother was checked into the facility, I had my suspicions. I have heard the kind of things that happen in nursing centers and was weary to let anything happen to my grandmother. My opinion was instantly changed when I met the staff and personnel at the center. From the kind and responsive customer service, to the optimistic faces of the elderly, I knew that I could put my trust into this place. Another surprising thing is the food that they serve is actually GOOD! Who would have thought!? You would normally think of nursing home food as hospital food but it is far from that. All I can say is that if you know of an elderly person in need of finding a good home, this will be the perfect fit for them. "

"My mom has been in Lemon Grove for two weeks, and she is doing really well. They are always short staffed, but those kids work hard. The rooms are really decent. They have beautiful patios. They have a couple of nice dining rooms, and the food is decent. They are very good, responsive, and answer all my questions. The physical therapy is great. They have activities like bingo, but my mom does not do anything. The place is clean and does not have smell. The staff is very receptive to you. "

"I was very impressed with University Care Center in San Diego. They had a very nice facility with professional Cali-style landscaping, and a very clean interior with a welcoming atmosphere that was nothing like a "typical nursing home." They were located right next to a hospital, and were within walking distance of a very large park where the elderly could go sit with their visitors. My client had everything nice to say about this facility, from the food to the staff to his treatment - which is the most important part. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone in the San Diego area. "

"St. Pauls Health Care Center has a caring group of people. They have a beauty parlor, they do their nails, and they give a lot attention to the person so it's pretty nice. They take them on outings during the day for day trips, and they have a game room and all sorts of activities inside the facility so they're pretty involved. "

"This facility was amazing,everyone was helpful and nice. I was visiting a family member and was surprised to see how well he was treated. the staff is very welcoming and have such outstanding attitudes. there is alot of activities to do wich accomadate everyones needs. I do not have one bad thing to say about this place.parking is kind of small but staff makes up for it all. They have unique activities wich include a petting zoo that way patients do not feel lonely. It is very clean and sanitized as that is very important for safety. The patio has comfortable and comforting birds and allow you to rest. The staff are always smiling and have a lot of patience. They listen and try to help with whatever they can. I am defiantly glad my relative is in this facility I am very eased that he is in good hands "
