"I toured The Manor on Bankers Hill. It seemed very friendly. They were very open, answered any questions I may have had, and were thorough in what's included when you live there. Everybody was friendly. It was very clean. The first one they showed me was too small. The second one was a little bigger. I didn't see a one-bedroom because I was more interested in the studios, but they were clean and differently designed. I didn't feel like I would have to fit into one particular unit because there were options for me to choose from. Steve, a sales specialist, was very nice and open, provided me with a lot of information about the facility, and gave me a tour."

"Atria was extremely friendly, and the cleanliness was above average. The food was excellent. All their activities were easy to get to and fit into. It was easy to get around the place. She has a room with a bathroom and a closet. Her room on the ground floor walks right out to a large garden. My cousin chose Atria because when she walked in, the people living and working there talked to her, and this was what she needed. The staff is very accommodating. If you have questions, they walk you through it or talk to you, and if they don't have the time, they refer you to somebody else. My cousin is happy there. "

"It was very nice and almost brand new. They offered all kinds of activities and had a saltwater pool. One thing I liked about them was, they said that if you have family in the area, they could stay there while you were there."

"I visited Westmont at San Miguel Ranch. It was very nice but just too far from the house. It was a little hotel-like, but it was very nice. It would probably be my second choice for my mother. It was very nice. It may be a little too much for what she needs, but it was fine. I didn't see anything negative about it except maybe it was a little overdone. The rooms were larger than average. They had a washer and dryer, which my mother doesn’t need. They had a kitchenette in all rooms. I looked at the menu, and it was fine. The way they catered to their residents stood out to me. They seemed to know them all and looked after them. They would feed them no matter what time they showed up in the dining room. "

"I went to Ivy Park at Otay Ranch, and it was a very nice tour. I met with another family while they were there, so that was kind of nice. They're probably a top contender. The only negative I had was I felt like their menu selections were a little limited if the woman was giving me the correct information on their dining room. The facility was very nice. They have a beautiful lobby when you walk in there. They had an area for happy hours and stuff that was very nice. It's in a very nice neighborhood. When you're driving up and walking up to the building, it's nice. I think they had the ability to do gluten-free there."

"I toured Grossmont Gardens. I lived there for over 10 years ago. I didn't taste the food again to see if anything changed there. The rooms are all the same. They're nice. They're a little pricey. I think they were up to $3000 to live there monthly and that's way out of my line. The staff was nice."

"We did tour Solstice Senior Living at El Cajon. We went to a couple of units. We didn't actually like it that much, so we didn't spend too much time there. It's hard to say because they were in a pandemic, so you don't get a true look at everything. The staff did fine, he was personable, and everything was fine. Nice tour. It's an older place. It had a bit of a musty kind of smell to it. I don't know if it's anyone's fault. It's just not for me. We saw all the amenities. We saw the little workout room they had. We saw everything."

"Oakmont of Pacific Beach is a very good, busy place. There's a lot going on all the time. They have a physical therapy room. I was able to try the food, and it was very good. We're very happy with the place. It is only about five months old, so everything is fairly new and beautiful. The staff is very kind and competent."

"100% love this place. All new high end quality rooms and food. The ribeye has scallops pasta so good. Mom/dad were at the villas (such a nice little home) now mom in the pointe. So nice. Big size. Staff so nice (emerald Christine's maria etc) front desk so nice (pam/mel!!!) And the activity directors!!! Brittany / kathy wow! The shuttle service and activities are great! I want to live there myself!"

"We toured Belmont Village La Jolla. They were nice. It's too expensive and too much of a commute for my brother. They had activities. The food was great. They had a courtyard. They had views. They had all kinds of interactions with the residents. They had outings for the residents. They were just wonderful. The rooms were big and spacious, and the studios were wonderful."

"I chose Chateau La Jolla Inn, it's a block from the beach, and everything about it was okay. The staff is good, the rooms were all nice, and had been redone. They had quite a few activities, they had courtyards, a library, a gym, but the swimming pool was not big, and looked like a therapy pool. They had meals, the community is beautiful, and it's close to the downtown area."

"Words cannot express how grateful we are for everyone at Rancho Penasquitos Senior Living! I mean EVERYONE!! From the executive director, memory care director, finance manager, the wonderful lady at the reception desk, ALL of the caregivers and med techs, TRULY care about my mum. We were so nervous about sending mum to memory care, but she needed 24/7 care that we could not provide because my husband and I both work full time. My worries were eased within the first few days because mum feels right at home here. The memory care director and staff pivoted so quickly to adapt to mums unique needs and picky eating. Saying thank you isn’t enough to express how all of the staff are simply amazing at what they do and they do it with love and care, which is evident! The staff have become like a second family and we communicate often which is a huge plus. We are so blessed to have mum live here and we are beyond grateful to all of you for taking such great care of my mum."

"We were very impressed with Belmont Village Sabre Springs. It's independent living, but it tends to be more on the assisted living side. It's a very nice place, it's in a good location, it's very clean, and it looked very nice. We saw a room that was already occupied. You have to bring your own furniture."

"Westmont of Carmel Valley is a place that I would want to retire to. It is beautiful. It looks very open. It had a lot of beautiful outdoor space. I wanted to sit down and go knit with some of the women who were there. The different places to eat at looked lovely and open. It's a beautiful place where you could just retire and spend your days. It feels more kind of a resort. I liked their bar/bistro area where you could just sit for the day with a drink or a snack. It was big and bright. The downside was the price, because you have to pay for that beauty, and it's definitely on the high end, but if you had the money, that would be a wonderful place for you to go."
