"We ended up putting mom in Westmont at San Miguel Ranch. It’s a very small community. It’s beautiful, quiet, and very clean. Everything is very good. We love it there. The staff is wonderful and very caring. They keep them busy. They have a lot of activities that they do. It’s a small group of people, so you get more individualized care. The food is excellent. The dining area is very cozy, nice, and clean. They have an actual chef that does the food, so the food is delicious. "

"It was relatively new as far as hallways and architecture. Everything just seemed relatively modern and contemporary. It was very nice. They have independent living and assisted living, and the one I saw was independent living. The staff was great. They have a central courtyard, television room, and library. I only saw the studio and it was nice. The only thing inside the room was a little sink, cabinets, and a mini-fridge. It was more like a hotel where all the room doors open up to the hallway. The rooms had a balcony that either looks into the central courtyard or outside away from the building."

"St. Paul's Manor was a nice place. It had assisted living and independent living. There was an ocean view, and it was very nice. It was an older building, but it was well maintained. I went to look at the rooms, and they were nice. The staff was very accommodating. The grounds were well maintained, and it was a classy place. It was in a great location because it was close to parks and museums. "

"I really liked Fredericka Manor, and we are looking forward to living there. The rooms were lovely and had enough space for all our stuff, so we were very pleased with it. Everybody was really friendly. They had a very large library and a lot of activities. The food was very good, and the staff was lovely. I liked the location because I could go to the beach and drive to places. The apartment we chose had two bedrooms, a kitchen, an outdoor space, and was very accessible."

"Pacific Pointe Retirement was very nice. The lady that helped us was very, very informative. A lot of the residents there seemed very friendly. It's also right next to a bus stop even though I have my own car. But I wouldn't mind taking the bus down the hill to the grocery store and then come back up. It's in the heart of Chula Vista, and that's what I liked about it. The room was very, very nice. I was looking for more of a larger studio or a one-bedroom. The staff showed me the dining room and the elevator, but they didn't have a one-bedroom that I was interested in available at that time. They had a very small refrigerator in the room, but they didn't have a sink except for the one in the bathroom, and that was it. I was looking for more like a little kitchenette or at least counter space, but no, they didn't have that. The staff said they provide meals in the dining room. But it was a wonderful place. I like it. The staff who gave the tour was the receptionist. She stepped up and she showed me and my cousin around. She was very, very good. She's Hispanic and very, very nice."

"I liked the openness of the areas at Ivy Park at Otay Ranch. The staff was very friendly and informative. The place was very big. It had a modern look to it, and it looked very new. It was very clean. They had a little bar area for coffee, and it seemed like they had a lot of amenities there."

"The Patrician was a very pleasant place. The food was very good. The places they showed us were very fine, well-lit, well-appointed, and well-furnished. It was altogether a positive experience. The people were very polite, attentive, and forthcoming. On one floor, there was a pool table, I think there was a swimming pool, gym equipment, a library, a computer room, and very nice dining room. If I were to choose and I wanted to live in such place, I would have chosen that. "

"This is a nice facility. My grandfather stays in a one bedroom place. The amenities are nice, equivalent to what one would get at a good hotel: TV, bathroom, kitchen, thermostat, etc. There's also a security button that help grandpa feel safe and protected; he can push the button anytime he need help. All the housekeeping - changing of linens, vaccuum, and trash - are taken care of. For a fee, they also help do all of grandpa's laundry. For food, the site has its very own chef. Because my grandfather is diabetic, he needs to be careful. It was good to know that the chef could accommodate my grandparents' special needs. Because he is diabetic, I remind grandpa to stay on top of things by exercise. When he has enough energy, grandpa will be at the gym using the treadmill and lifting weights. Outside the gym, there's also a pool area. Since its summer and the temperature is warm, grandpa likes to go for a swim. Overall, this is a great facility. "

"Belmont Village Sabre Springs would have met my friend’s needs very well. It’s one of the best in this area. It’s a beautiful environment and seems to be very well staffed. It’s a very active community of people, but he’s quite a bit younger than the average resident. Their average age there is 85, and he’s 54, so he could not picture himself in that environment. The rooms were beautiful. Marie took us through and explained everything, including the pricing. She did an excellent job and answered all of our questions. They had different sizes and styles of rooms."

"My husband will be moving in. We toured it, and we liked the facility. The staff that showed us around was very informative and took the time to explain everything to us. The rooms were very nice and big. We didn't taste the food, but everybody seemed to like it. We spoke to several people, and they seemed to enjoy it. The dining area was clean. They have all kinds of activities. We talked to a woman that has been living there, and she likes it. She says they are very kind to her, and they are allowed to have animals. She's very pleased with the living conditions."

"Belmont Village La Jolla was a beautiful facility and the food was great. All of the amenities were great. It was just that the square footage was way too small for what we would be paying. There was some ability to do art or something like that. They also had physical fitness activities. The facility was new, well thought out, and planned. The staff who gave us the tour was very helpful and very knowledgeable about their facility. All in all, a top level of service. They would provide meals 3 times a day. We had lunch there and the food tasted great, with lots of variety."
