"I’m in a senior apartment complex at Southern Highlands. It is in a nice location for me because I’m familiar with this area. The staff, so far, has been excellent. In my first month here, I took a shower, but I didn’t have a shower curtain yet, so I got the floor all wet. As soon as I stepped out, I slipped and fell, broke my hand, and cracked a couple of ribs. This was probably after midnight, and an attendant came without me even asking within two or three minutes. They have 24-hour attendants, and there's a pull string in the bathroom, which I didn’t even have a chance to pull yet. This guy just came. The facility is very senior-oriented. It is a little pricey but very nice. The building is old, but the apartments are brand new. They don’t provide food yet, but they do have a dining hall. "

Although I only drove my client to and from this place for day care, she would tell me about how her day was and specific things that took place. When I brought my client inside, they would always greet her by name and ask her if she needed anything in particular as soon as she walked inside. It was also very affordable for her family to have the daycare facility take care of her during work hours - much more affordable than an assisted living facility would have been. At night, I would drive her back to her family's home when they arrived back from work. They even mentioned how she seemed much happier after she spent the day here. I would definitely recommend this facility for anyone needing adult day care in the Chula Vista area. "

"My wife's mother really needed to move into care last year. We spent time looking at many places and chose Silverado, because the quality of facility and services appeared first class. We were nervous about how she would accept the move, but the staff were so kind and welcoming that my mother-in-law took to it straight away. There are lots of activities, as well as many animals around the place, including ponies that roam the garden. The staff really seem to care about their residents. Family is encouraged to stop by anytime and join in at meals or activities. Rooms are light and airy with individual "memory cabinets" outside, telling you something of the resident's life. My mother-in-law really enjoyed her time there. She improved mentally due to the social interaction and said, "Everyone is so kind to me here." "

"My sister goes to the Gary and Mary West facility. They have done so much for us. This program allows her to stay in her home where she has been for 20 years, and it's working out wonderfully for her. They work with the Medi-Cal system. My sister was very depressed and practically suicidal. She was extremely overweight. However, since she has started going there, she has lost 40 pounds, she's happy, and she looks forward to it. Every time I talk to her, she says, 'I'm so grateful for PACE.' They're just very supportive of her, and she feels safe there. She has made friends there. They provide my sister with her basic needs. She wears Depends now, and they provide her with those. They've given her one of those buttons that you push for emergencies because she lives at home alone. If she ever has a problem, she pushes the button and immediately, they answer, and they're there to help her 24/7. I'm so thrilled for them. I have called them countless times with questions, and they're always available and always happy to help in any way they can. They're very friendly and understanding of my sister's needs. I couldn't praise them enough. They have transportation. They pick her up at 9 in the morning and take her to the facility, and she stays there until 2 or 3. She has breakfast and lunch there. They provide nice meals. If, for some reason, she can't eat the main meal that they are serving that day, they have options for people with special needs. They're very accommodating."
