My father was taken to this facility from Sunrise after being admitted with pneumonia. He was in this rehab for about two weeks. I don't know how the food was, probably very bland, which makes sense for most patients, but they allowed us to bring him meals. And Daddy said there were a couple of bossy nurses, but that was for the best, knowing my dad. I was very impressed myself with the staff, they were very friendly and knowledgeable. If they weren't brimming with info, it's because they aren't allowed by law to give out info indiscriminately. The rooms were clean and fresh; the facility didn't smell of chemicals or urine, as so many of them do. It just smelled clean. It was a great rehab facility, as far as i could see, and from my father's reports, and it's not a hotel or an adventure park. Maybe a bit dull for the patients, but recuperating from illness typically isn't a big ball of fun. I highly recommend this facility.

Please don't send loved ones to this place, nurses need training, my mother's had bed sores all over her body, room wasn't always clean. My mom hadn't seen a doctor there in 3-4 months and in that time my mother's kidneys shut down, her diabetes got out of control. There was no coming back from the poor care my mother was given. Please please think twice before you even consider this place for your loved one.

My mother was sent to this facility. She was in her late 90's. She had dementia and stopped walking. I asked how many days she would receive rehab and was told "2." How do you rehab anything in just 2 days a week and better yet with a person who could not repeat the command of what she was asked to do in physical therapy. I was so freaked when I saw her in a hallway, crying and alone and twirling a string to entertain herself. I cried all night long and insisted she come home. Then --after her death a few months later my father went to another care facility in town (not this one) and came home with a stage 4 bedsore you could see to his spine smelling of rotting flesh and died the next day. Never mentioned to us. LEARN FROM THIS REVIEW- WATCH CAREFULLY WHAT CARETAKERS DON'T DO AND INSIST IN BEING VERY INVOLVED...OR ELSE...I am working on a website currently to teach people what rights you have and how to hold the facility accountable legally.

If you have any choice about it, do not go here or send your loved one here. My mom had no choice but to come here because it was the only option available to her through her insurance. She had to do physical therapy (exercises) in her bed by herself because the place is so understaffed. She was infected with C difficile at Southern Nevada, and three weeks later she is still being treated for this in another facility. She was symptomatic but not diagnosed with the condition at Southern Nevada (but was just after she arrived at another another facility) although I called the head nurse daily about her persistent diarrhea (I lived in another state). Unbelievably, I learned at her discharge day that she was being prescribed both stool softeners and laxatives for her bowel impaction!?! She could not stop going to the bathroom, and it was obvious that the nurses and prescribing doctors did not communicate with each other about fact that someone with diarrhea was on an inappropriate medication, or else they don't care. One day, she was described as having dementia and needing 24 hour care which was alarming because she has an excellent memory and told me the names of all the staff members, good and bad. The case manager then retracted her statement after she checked with the head nurse who contradicted her, and then the case manager excused her mistake by saying that she had a lot of patients to look after. My mom was in 3 different rooms with screaming patients until she was finally moved to a quieter room. I was sad that my mom had to spend 9 days in this place after her fall.

I cannot imagine anyone offering a positive review of this facility. My mom was admitted there after release from the hospital for an infection. She came in with 1 prescription and left with 8, including a dose 3X a day for "anxiety and panic." A colostomy patient, left weak and vulnerable by an infection, while there the nursing staff ignored her, did not answer her calls on the bedside call button, did not let her out of bed to walk - and in fact, did no rehabilitation routine at all. As my mother stated, they said they were too busy. She was heavily medicated so that she would not ring the buzzer to call for help. She had a roommate that was constantly in pain that the nursing staff ignored, so the patient yelled and screamed constantly. There solution was to medicate my mom heavily so she would sleep thru the screaming. It did not work, she only slept in small increments when the other patient was asleep. Instead of allowing her up out of bed to drain her colostomy bag, they changed the entire bag several times a day (not drain mind you, but removed and replaced). In the process the nursing staff made no attempt to fit the bag carefully over the small stoma, instead cut a large 2 1/4" hole in the wafer and placed it over the stoma, so stool constantly touched skin and burned thru her skin completely in a large circle. Too make matters worse, she suffered a small stroke while there - that the nursing staff did not even notice - it was noticed instead by one of her visitors. When she was released to us, we had no knowledge or record of a stroke, and she was weaker and more frail than when she was admitted. She suffered another stroke and died two days after her release. This place was negligent, incompetent and completely unable to provide the basic care they are billing insurance companies for. If you leave your loved one there, you should be ashamed.
