My mom is a resident of Brookdale Las Vegas. The directors are extremely kind and helpful. They have been very attentive to my mother so far. They're making sure that she gets to her meals. They have three meals a day. They have laundry, they have medication distribution, they have activities, and they have trips. They do it all. They're very inclusive. The only recommendation I would make is they need to have an intake meeting with the family before the resident moves in just to ensure that they have all the necessary paperwork and all the things from the doctors. I think an intake meeting would be very, very crucial to making it smooth because we had a little glitch with some new medication that my mom was on. They had to get new doctor's orders for it. Granted that it was a very short time span, so I can't blame them entirely, but I just think an intake meeting would be beneficial. The dining room is very nice. However, the carpet is dirty, and the doors need to be painted. You pay a $3,000 entrance fee, and I just think $3,000, the doors should not have scuffs on them. The carpet there bothers me. They have lots of good activities. The problem is they don't come and get my mom for the activities. So that would be an area for improvement. At least call and invite her or send someone to knock on her door and say, 'Hey, we have bingo. Do you want to go?' Because I have to constantly call and say, 'Hey, mom, you know, they're having bingo. Do you want to go?'

I toured Brookdale Las Vegas. The expense and the rooms were small, which would be the negatives, but it looked nice and clean, and the cafeteria seemed like it had a good menu. I like the walkways in the courtyard. The staff was very nice, and it looked like they had a wide variety of activities and events.

My mom will move into Brookdale Las Vegas. The studio apartments are very large and have a huge, beautiful courtyard in the middle, which is very green. We chose the garden view room so that our mother could open the window, drink a cup of tea, and look out and feel connected with nature. They have a larger amount of activities than the other places that we looked at. We felt that that would be very good for our mother, so she doesn't get depressed. The people that are living there looked happy and that was important. They also have a large movie theater and they do a lot of Super Bowl, like they do a lot of parties. They're having a Christmas party. They have 640 locations around the country, and they said that if I ever move and I need to move my mother, I don't have to pay the initial deposit. I can just move her and just keep her at the rate she's at. I took a tour of myself alone, and then I took my mother and sister back a few days later, and everyone took good care of us. It was very personable. I met with the head nurse, and the assistant nurse, and they both seemed very sharp. Even the maintenance man came over and shook our hands. It seemed like they have good training.

I visited Brookdale Las Vegas. The director who showed us around was pretty nice. It was small but cozy. In comparison with the others I saw, it didn't strike me as amazing. The general appearance wasn't fabulous.

I liked Brookdale Las Vegas a lot. It was small and kind of intimate and much easier to navigate or to get around. It's one floor so you don't have to find an elevator. It's just a lot more accessible for someone who is vision impaired. They sent cakes home with me that they baked in their kitchen and they were fabulous. I couldn't find anything wrong with the place. I visited with residents there and they all loved Brookdale Las Vegas. One gentleman told me that it was the perfect place for his mom. He said that everyone was friendly and that when you walked through the door, you were a family.

Brookdale Las Vegas had nice staff and ample parking for a one-story building. All the staff stays there a long time so there's low turnover. The facility looked great. It's just not brand new.

We toured Brookdale Las Vegas. It was very nice, but the care that they're providing is more than what my mom needs. The apartments were a bit smaller, and did not have a balcony, it was kind of like being in jail. But everything was nice, it was clean, and the people were very friendly, but my mom doesn't need that right now. Very few amenities. They had a rehab area for folks to go in for some rehab. And they had a craft area. But it was pretty small, and not as nice as the others we had seen. The staff was very friendly and very helpful.

Brookdale Las Vegas is not quite updated. Everybody seems very nice and helpful, it's just that I did not speak to the person that I was speaking to on the phone. I spoke to a girl, and she was super helpful, but she wasn't there the day I went in for the tour. So, I did speak to someone else, and she was okay. She walked me through the facility and showed me the room. It was okay. She also showed me the areas where they eat, it's not bad. The staff there seemed to be nice and were doing what they were supposed to be doing. They were telling me how they have times when they cook with the people, and what they do just to keep them entertained. There was one of the staff who was keeping one of the older people occupied, just helping her and keeping her busy at the table. It wasn't bad, I thought it was very interesting. In this place, everything was like an add-on type. It would have been even more expensive than the other place, I didn't understand that at all.

Pacifica Senior Living Green Valley is an older establishment, but it was very nice, and everybody was extremely friendly there. The only difference with them compared to other places is that there are separate cottages. So, if you want to get to the dining room, you have to go outside to travel, and if you want to get to the other areas, you have to go outside. That's the only thing I didn't really like too much about it, because I don't want my dad to do that if the weather's bad or something, and he has to go from one side to the other. You won't be able to get to that side if it's pouring rain for example. What I like, and what I thought was really cute about this place, is that he can have his own little cottage. They only have up to nine to 12 rooms, so there wouldn't be a huge amount of people. I thought that was really cute. They've got their little dining room in their cottage. So they would go to eat their little breakfast in their area, and then if they wanted to go out to the bigger dining area or the activity center, that's in the middle of all the other cottages; they have to walk up to that area. The staff was friendly and it was clean. It's older, so you see a little bit of that attached to it, but as for staff and friendliness, that was great, and the food looked decent. They had different stuff and there's variety, although it wasn't as much as the other place I toured, and the quality probably was a little bit less, but it's still a very decent place.

I toured Brookdale Las Vegas. I thought that they were super accommodating. They had multiple people come in unexpectedly at the same time for a tour. They bent over backwards to get everybody taking care of so they could see the facility. The residents that we saw there all seemed to be very happy and very well taken care of. The staff was super knowledgeable, very friendly, and very open to answering questions. The apartments were very clean, very simple, and very usable.

Brookdale Las Vegas was good. It's the closest one to us. There weren't as many activities as some of the other ones, but the room that we saw was clean. The person who gave us the tour was good, too. They had a patio there.

My mom is currently at Brookdale Las Vegas, and our overall experience for the last few years has just been remarkable and wonderful. It's more like an apartment home than assisted living, and my mom enjoys calling that place her home. Whenever she has any health issues, they have been front and center in taking care of it and also keeping communication lines open with the family. They've been excellent. During COVID, they had to step up to the plate in regard to being cautious, and they've gone above and beyond what mandates have been put out to make sure that their residents are healthy. She absolutely loves the food. They serve three hot meals a day. Lunch is the largest meal, and it's like a three-course meal. They have a chef on-site, and the chef orders the ingredients and cooks the food. It's not processed, so it's like a home-cooked meal every day for all three meals. They have many activities every day, seven days a week, but she opts not to participate in a lot of them, and they don't force her. They have a separate game room for puzzles and other game activities that they could play together. They have an area where they can do workouts to keep themselves mobile. They have a separate TV room that has scheduled movies, and they provide them popcorn and juice. They make it fun for the residents to look forward to movie time. Then they have all sorts of different gathering areas on their property that they can sit around when family comes to visit. There's a picnic table, a gazebo, a covered patio, or they could be in their room, when there aren't any restrictions applied. They are also constantly upgrading their facility. Instead of keeping it standard, they make it way above standard, and that's really important to keep their standards high. One of the things I like about the staff is if there's anything that they feel like I need to be concerned about in regard to my mom, they call me immediately. The head nurse, the director, and the assistant director have all given me their cellphone numbers. If I can't reach my mom, I can reach them directly without having to go through the process of going through the front desk. I can contact them directly, and that's just how personable they are. She definitely gets what she pays for.

We went to Brookdale Las Vegas. The elder people that were in there looked really happy, I didn't see anybody sleeping on the sides of the hallways in wheelchairs, they were talking, happily smiling, and they were playing cards. The help is really friendly, they came up and said to us that it was a very nice place. The coordinator is a godsend to anybody that has any kind of concern about putting any family member in there, she's knowledgeable, and puts your mind at ease, and she's just really a great person. It's an older facility, but it's clean. They took food over to my brother's house, I didn't taste it, but they said it was good.

Brookdale Las Vegas is great. The staff is great. My brother's apartment is nice. They have a hair and nail salon, they have doctors that come through every week, they have Bingo and movies, and they take them to the casino and Wal-Mart. He enjoys it. There are men there that he can hang out with and watch football games. They're expensive though.

I love Brookdale Las Vegas' layout. It is single level, which is nice. The staff members are very nice and very helpful. Their room is a little more expensive. However, the community is closer to where I live, and that's a good thing. They have lots of amenities. They have everything that my dad wanted. They even have a craft area and an entertainment facility.

Brookdale Las Vegas was OK. They treated my mother just fine, but when it was time to move out her things, we got a bit of an attitude from one of the staff members. The meals that I saw were fine. The price is expensive, but that's probably the going rate.

My wife is in the memory care of Brookdale Las Vegas, and I'm very happy with it. They take care of her needs, and whatever has to be done. We're very happy with the food, the dining area looks like a dining area at home, and it's very well-kept. The place she's in is like a home, there's a kitchen, the dining area is in an open area, there's a TV and activity room, and the bedrooms are off these areas. She has a regular room with a closet and a bathroom.

I had a sit-down meeting with one of the managers at Brookdale Las Vegas. The staff members were very professional. I was given a tour of the different model rooms they had. I was impressed with the size of the rooms because they were spacious and more than comfortable. They had an extensive menu too. I didn't see a lot of the residents, but the few that I did see appeared to have a good attitude and seemed to enjoy living there. Everyday they have different schedules of activities. They take the residents to different locations throughout the week for shopping and entertainment. I was very impressed with this community.

The people at Brookdale Las Vegas have been treating my wife wonderfully. It is a very good place. It has caring attendants. My wife looks well whenever I visit her. The Alzheimer's section doesn’t have too many activities the residents can participate in because of their condition. The place is always clean, the rooms are always clean, and they're taking good care of my wife.

Brookdale Las Vegas was nice. It was small, and my mom liked it. It wasn’t my first choice, but their price was better than my first choice. The staff people were very nice, and my mom liked them. The cleanliness was good. They didn’t have many rooms available -- only a couple. They had a really nice menu setup and different snacks during the day and, if you didn’t want what was on the menu, you could always order a hotdog or a hamburger, a sandwich, or something else that suits you better. They claim to have really good food, so hopefully that is the case, but my mom didn’t eat there.

I've had lunch with my mother at Brookdale Las Vegas. The food is very healthy. The room is very comfortable and small, but it is enough space for her. They accept Medicaid, and she is in a room priced for Medicaid. She has a roommate, but there is still plenty of room. I think it is very nice, very clean, and very well laid out. My mother is in a wheelchair, but it is easy to maneuver her wheelchair around. The walls were painted and new carpet put down right before she moved in, so it is all fresh, clean, nice, and new.

I went to Brookdale Las Vegas for my mother. I liked Brookdale overall because they treated people like human beings. In their dining room, they had table cloths, napkins, and flowers in the center. They treated them nicely. They had a shuttle bus that took them out for dinner, plus a game room for bingo and puzzles and an exercise room.

Brookdale Las Vegas is OK. I just don't like the fact that they will charge me for every single thing that they do for my mom. If she gets a shower, they will charge me; if she gets a tissue, they will charge me. Of course, I can't keep track of that and mom has Alzheimer’s, so how are we to know?

I visited Brookdale. I was impressed with the facility. I liked the people that I met. The staff that was talking to us was very knowledgeable with the clients that were staying there. Several of them called her by her name so you would know that she was in contact with guests that were staying there. I was in the memory-care area. Most of the places appeared to have a division between a shared-room with a companion. The rooms looked roomy, and nice. I saw the dining rooms on both sides. It was very large, and nice-looking. They even had linens on the table. It was like you were going into a restaurant. In the memory-care area, they did not have to leave from the table. However, that would be understandable because they could trip or fall or something. There were nurses or aides there on the premises taking care of people. They had snacks out for them. They had a bulletin-board that had the activities. There was a variety of items there.

Everything was really good at Brookdale. They invited us, and we went to a party there. It was really amazing. The room, for what we needed, was perfect. We had a meal there, and it was really good. We chose it because it had everything that we needed, and it was no too far from where we live.

This place is a nightmare. It was bad enough when it was Emeritus but now that Brookdale has bought it has gotten much worse. They have raised prices twice in three months, they no longer serve eggs in the morning, the staff turn over is constant. They have over 50 state violations. Go on statistics.health.nv.gov. You can see all of the violations on this site.

Robert is in Brookdale Las Vegas and he is doing great. The care and food are good. He is in a private room. However, he does not have like a little sink or kitchen area. For an assisted living, the place is very interactive with both the residents and the staff.

The nursing personnel are good although I do think they subcontract the nurses to come in and give medications at night. They don't seem to be around all the time. My sister is there, and she has to get shot up with insulin, but I like the one that is there because she knows what she is doing. My sister's biggest complaint is the food because she said it is terrible. You have to consider the source because she is on kidney dialysis. She doesn't feel well to begin with, and she had a stroke which affected her taste buds of too much salt. She says she can't eat a lot of food that they give her which is true because I don't think they are kidney diet aware. I think they are serving pasta or carbs like you'd find in college. Everyone there hates the food so much that they talk about wanting to move because the food is horrible. My sister was in the hospital, and my understanding was that their transportation bus would pick her up. Suddenly I get a phone call that I need to pick my sister up after being told that the bus is going to pick her up. I didn't think that was too swift. I think the staff is good especially now that they have been bought out and changed ownership and management.

My sister lived here and the staff was very good. They were very friendly, and they helped all of her needs. They always seemed to have smiles on their faces. She had a room all by herself, and it was very nice. It had a view of a courtyard, and it was very big. It had a nice, big bathroom and closet space. It’s very, very large. The food was OK. The dining room was very large, and they brought food to the table. They provide three entrées everyday.

I was not really impressed. It had a much smaller community. The gardens were not as large as where we placed my dad. We met the director and some of the staff. They were friendly and accommodating. The dining area was nice, and it was almost like being in a restaurant. They have activities like chair karate at 9:30 in the morning. They play a video on the TV, and they gather the residents in an open area to do exercises while they are sitting on a chair or in a wheel chair. They also have activities like “name that tune,” baking cookies, yoga, games, puzzles, bingo, and music therapy. They do a lot of activities, and each day is a little bit different.

My father is here. We chose this facility because of the location and because they have Medicare and/or Medicaid. I love all of the caregivers. They are wonderful. They communicate well with my father, and my dad likes all of them. He does not complain about the food because the food is OK. They help them up to the dining room if they need any help. The room is clean. The facility is very nice and very well kept. They have a program for all of them. So, after breakfast, they can go and watch the prize is right in the TV room. They have a little exercise class for them. They have bingo after lunch. They have movie evenings with popcorn and stuff. They do quite a bit with them there.

I liked the staff and everything about it. They seemed engaged. I didn't try the food, but it looked good. The residents seemed happy. The parking area was adequate, and the location was fine. I liked the common area where the residents hang out, except that I didn't like the residents' rooms. They were all double occupancy rooms with no privacy at all. I don't like that when you walked down the hall, all the doors of the residents' rooms were open, and there were two beds in each room without any partitions.

We moved my mom in. The place is very clean. The staff is very friendly and very accommodating. It seems like a very nice place. I am not really impressed with their rooms because they are a bit small and kind of bland, but they are okay. They are setup where you can have two beds in a room. The one nice thing I can say about it is that most of the rooms that I have seen the windows are facing a very nice courtyard. It's so peaceful and restful.

It was just so interesting and inviting. They also had big courtyard area that everyone could walk. I liked that there were no locked doors. But there wasn't anybody walking around with a set of keys like a matron in a jail. The main door was locked but everything else is inside. People could come in and out if they want it. The residents never thought they were in jail, so I was very impressed. My mother is still very high-functioning. And I like this one, because it was big enough and there were different levels of care.
