Independent Living Communities in North Las Vegas, NV

"The people at Red Rock Pointe Retirement Community are very nice. I didn't see that much in the community. The residents were all sitting around playing bingo or something. My experience was good. The staff was very thorough and very complete. They offered additional assistance as far as when having to move, they have connections with various realtors and offered the different specials that they would have from time to time, as far as the prices of the rooms, and so forth. The kitchens are almost nonexistent. As far as being able to sit somewhere and eat, you have to go right into the living room. It's like one room, and there's like a little area with the kitchen gadgets, refrigerators, stove, and so forth. That was good, but as far as a place to sit down and have a cup of coffee or something, it's cramped. The facility was nice. I didn't like the general location of the place."

"We liked Revel Vegas. They had a nice dining area. Michelle was very nice and gave a lot of information. They had a lot of activities and great amenities. They had bus rides and food. They had everything. They had a theater. It's just the price was too high for us, but overall, it was a great place. We never ate there, but it was a very nice dining room."

"The apartment at Revel Nevada was nice. It's fairly new. The people were friendly. We had lunch there and the food was good."

"I toured Truewood by Merrill, Henderson. The place is classy, comfortable, and clean. The people were helpful and the residents were friendly. I didn't look directly at the pool or the exercise area, but they did have it. I pretty much looked at the room. I've seen how the rooms looked. I've seen how the front area looked. It's pretty much quick. I had enough information that I needed to know. I told her not to worry about taking me everywhere, but we just looked at a couple of places and I got the feel of a place. I understand what it would be like if I were to live there. The staff was polite and informative. I liked what they were doing. I felt comfortable there. If I need a place like that, I'll go."

"I went to see Cactus Valley Retirement Resort, an independent living community. It was nice and clean, but it included all three meals, which is not something I'm interested in. Otherwise, it was pretty good even though the apartments were a little small. They have many activities and a movie theater. They also have a lot of amenities that are very nice to have in a place. I just don't want to have to pay for 3 meals a day when I'm probably not going to eat."

"I like Destinations Alexander 55+ Apartment Homes. I like the unit, the people, I like what they offer, I like the square footage, and I like how the apartments are. They're more like homes than they are apartments. They're side-by-side units. It's a very nice place. I love the cleanliness. I love that you have your washer and dryer in your unit, and it's a full-sized washer and dryer, not a stacked dryer. They have stainless steel appliances, which is very nice. They have beautiful pool, a jacuzzi, a place to play cards, and a library. The staff was extremely nice and extremely professional. With this COVID thing, they were right on the button with how they addressed things, and they had COVID down pat. They don't have no food or restaurant there. You have your own kitchen."

"I stayed in El Paseo Senior Apartments a year ago. It's a very clean and very nice community. I would recommend it to anyone I know. They don't serve food. This is just an independent living community. They had an exercise room and a swimming pool. They had a washer and dryer in the apartment. The staff is very loving. They have an open-door policy. Any time you want to talk with them, they're there, so that's something that I think seniors need. The landscaping is very nice and well-kept. The facility is clean. Their parking areas are always clean. They have an area where you can meet together, sit there, and play cards. But I didn't see a lot of people taking advantage of that. It's worth the value for money."

"I like the layout of Las Vegas Manor. It’s kind of like joint cottages, and everything was on the first floor, and had landscaped grounds there or walking path. It looked clean, nice and the room was the right size for me. "

"I'm at Villa Borega. It's a manufactured home, so it's a gated community. It's beautiful and nice. I have a three-bedroom, two-bath. It's wonderful. I love it. The staff here is wonderful. They're very kind, accommodating, and sweet. They take their time, they listen, and they'll try to work through any concerns or issues that you may have. I've had a wonderful experience here so far. They have a fully functional kitchen. They have dishwasher, garbage disposal, stove, microwave, brand-new appliances, and washer and dryer. Just all the amenities. The community is very clean. A lot of the homes, they're rebuilding. I guess the homes are on a time limit of how old they could be, so a lot of them are turned down and will be putting up new ones. They got a pool, a weight room, a billiard room, and a library. It's very clean. The value for money is more than worth it. They got a special going on now. It's $99 special. When you move in, you just pay $99 for that month. The rent here is only $1,300 for a three-bedroom, two-bath, and that's wonderful."

"Avamere at Cheyenne is very clean. Their staff is extremely friendly and attentive to my mom's needs. She is thriving. I've not eaten there personally for a while, but my mom says the food is fine. They offer bingo and they have special events where people come in, and I believe they have religious services that come in."

"I live in a senior community called Sun City Aliante, in North Las Vegas. It's a gorgeous community and they cater to seniors 55+. They have a lot of activities here like a gym, you can play pool, and they have a swimming pool. It's in a beautiful setting, too, and it's a gated community. I'm not at a point where I can do the activities, but in talking to my neighbors, they said the activities were awesome. Everybody says that the house that we live in is gorgeous, but I think they should be more open to affordable living. Overall, I think this is a good community. Nobody could go straight through here because they have a guarded gate. It's also quiet, and it's catered to seniors 55+."

"The Bonanza Pines is like a beautiful, big hotel. If you have dogs, you would be able to take them to an area to walk your dogs or whatever. It has a very good location as well. "

"We have secured an apartment at Decatur Pines in Las Vegas. It seems to be a nice location. There's a lot of shopping and it looks pretty safe. We paid the necessary fees to hold the unit. There's an adjoining assisted living place in the same complex, but this is the independent one where you do everything yourself. We went to the assisted living by mistake and we ended up at the independent one where we secured a unit. It's a nice neighborhood. There's a lot of shopping, and there's a Costco and a Wal-Mart. About everything you need is right there. There's a post office less than a mile away, and it's right near the freeway, so it's a convenient spot. We would have preferred a southern location as opposed to a northern one, but other than that, it's a pretty good location. The property seems to be in pretty good shape and well maintained. There are social activities, a library, a gym, a swimming pool, and a workroom if you want to do your business in an office atmosphere as opposed to your apartment. They've got nice and friendly people in management. It's a nice place."
