I liked it. It would be my top choice because it just ticks off all of the boxes that we're looking for. We met with Jen, and she was awesome. She sat down with us and went over everything. And then we did the tour and she showed us several units. We saw the dining hall and we met with the activities director. Everyone was very accommodating. We felt good about it. Everyone was great. They had the chair exercise that they do every day. And then they said they had somebody come in on Fridays or at least once a week, with something different as far as the activity and exercise. They showed us the calendar and what they would do, like if you're going to do the events, how they take them out and go to Walmart. They were talking about if there was something else that my mom would want to do, they could see about doing it or adding that to the roster. The transportation was a big one, too. They were saying they could take her to her fitness gym because it's within 10 miles of the facility. I liked that they could take her to her appointments if it's within 10 miles.

I was in American House West Bloomfield. My back was so bad I couldn't go grocery shopping. My family had to do that. They were helping me in so many things that I decided to get into senior living. I picked that place because I thought I could be independent, but I needed help with showers and they gave me my meds. One of the worst things about them was that we have these alert buttons and I would push them and sometimes they wouldn't ever show up at all. My back would get so bad I'd have to go to emergency. I had to call 911 myself instead of asking them to call 911. I did that quite a few times. They didn't kick somebody out if they became more dependent. They kept them. Some people were being fed, they're getting more help, and people on dialysis were there. They didn't say you have to go to assisted care. I had a one-bedroom, and it was very nice. They had quite a few housekeepers and they had to come to your room once a day and remove the trash. They had trivia and hangman. They were half-hour activities that they had at 4:00, they had bingo, and that was about it. They had Friday happy hour with live entertainment. They had a beauty salon. They provided three meals and they were pretty good.

My tour was good. It's just that the rooms were a little small, other than that it was ok. The person who gave the tour was very good and very accommodating. The rooms were clean and nice, and the dining area was a nice size and spaced out nicely. The staff was very pleasant and nice.

It was a nice enough place, but the clientele was not very interactive. The rooms and building were fine. I am looking for my mother-in-law, who is still very mobile and social, but the people I saw outside were just sitting in their wheelchairs. Most of them didn't notice me. It was sad. It wasn't the kind of place that my mother-in-law would have been happy in. They had a room for exercising and a place for eating that seemed nice. The staff members seemed fine. The building was small but nice.

I have had my dad here for two months now. The experience has been good. The staff is very friendly, and I feel good when I go see my dad. He seems content. They have three meals a day and a varied menu. They have very supplemental activities. He is in a studio-type apartment, but they do have one- and two-bedrooms available. My dad takes the cooking class that some of the residents are hosting. They have movie nights and happy hour.

I liked it. The people were very helpful who gave me the tour and were very kind and answered all of my questions. I was very pleased with what I saw, but it was quite expensive, and I was waiting to hear from the veterans' administration. We went in the cafeteria but didn't try the food.

My husband is in here, and it fit his needs. He has his own bathroom and shower. He has a furnished studio apartment. I've eaten a few meals, and they were good. I am paying for his deluxe package of assisted living. They come in the morning and help him get dressed. They take him to breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They give him his medications. They come in the afternoon and bedtime and help him. Every two hours during the night, somebody is supposed to come in and check on him. He is under supervision, plus they take him to the activities if he wants to participate. He is really not into music, but today he was in a concert, and I'm happy with it. It's a nice inviting facility. The staff are good. They have a nurse who is really on top of things. We had a mix up with the medication, and she was very instrumental in getting that straightened out. She won't give him anything unless she has a prescription with the doctor's name on it. He hasn't been there a whole month yet. So far, it's very good. They have a little café. It's more affordable than other places.
