I chose Island Pines after getting extremely poor care from one of the new facilities in Woodhaven for my mother. I was doubtful that any of these facilities cared for our elderly loved ones like they should. I will tell you, without any shadow of a doubt, Island Pines provides the absolute best care for their residents. I sat at my mom's bedside for hours and hours and listened to the caregivers and manager speak lovingly to every resident, laugh with the residents and care for the residents like they were their parents. I am eternally grateful to the staff and managememt for the care my mom received here. Home cooked meals for the residents, constant direct care and trained staff are some to the reasons to have a loved one here. Also, much cheaper costs compared to the large new places in the area. I would highly recommend Island Pines to everyone.

My mom needed advanced care, and there are a few other facilities that could take care of her, but one of them was Island Pines Residential Assisted Living. It's only two miles from my mom's house, where she's currently at, so it's convenient. I thought with the house setting and with her dementia, it felt like she'd be in a home, and COVID would be less, too. I live in Kansas city, but my sister lives in the area. Her grandkids are there, so they can just go visit her and sit in the front room right at her home. Their cottage was nice. The staff has also been so nice and cooperative with me. I can't go in there, but my mom is so happy when I talk to her. She's eating her food and she's content. My mom is still healing from a broken ankle, and as far as COVID goes, I think they are kind of restrictive on what they can do. It's a group home, so it's a little bit less expensive than other facilities. Price-wise, it was very reasonable.
