"The lady at Brookwood Living Taylor was very nice, very knowledgeable, and answered all of my questions. The facility would be perfect if it weren't for the cost. There, you would be in your own little home kind of thing, versus being in a hotel-like setting at the other facilities. But I have doctors' appointments, food, and other things to consider, so I can't do that. The size of the units is more than adequate. They're still in the process of building it though. There are still roads that aren't completed, and even units that aren't completed, but that's understandable because they're a new facility. The units looked nice, and the size was perfect. They even had a garage with them. They're also in the process of building their clubhouse. I wouldn't want a unit close to Goddard Road, but other than that, any of the other units would have been fine."

"I moved into Maple Heights. The people are very nice, like from the kitchen to the front desk to the girls that bring the food, or cleaning. They're all very courteous and helpful. You can have the meals sent up to your room if you don't want to go to the dining room. There's three meals a day and housekeeping. If you want to wash your own personal clothes there you can do that. The food is really pretty good. It's a little bit on the bland side, but I happen to like that. I cannot eat highly seasoned food. I have not seen a swimming pool. They have exercise classes almost every morning. They have activities that they do with the people. Then they have people come in and play music for them. They have karaoke and bowling. There's at least six things per day to do. They take you grocery shopping and to doctors' appointments, they go to restaurants, they have ice cream socials. Everything I have ever needed, they're right there. It's worth every penny."

"I toured Allegria Village, and it was fantastic. It was like walking into a country club. You walk in there, you look around, and you figure, "Where am I?" This is not like a senior citizen's home. It's beautiful. It was clean and bright. Everything was very nice. They have four restaurants. They have a TV studio if you want to make a video. They have a clubhouse, a pickleball court, a nine-hole golf course, and an activity room. They have an off-season swimming pool. They have a bank and a golf simulator. They have a salon, a game room, a craft room, a small chapel, a laundry area, and a library. My daughter was with me when I took this tour, and she said, "Gee whiz, Mom, I think I will move in here." It was just fantastic."

"My brother is in American House Westland Venoy. It is wonderful. The director there, Cindy, was awesome. She explained everything and showed us around. Everybody just seemed so nice there. So far, my brother likes it. The staff gave us options on what to expect and what different programs they have there. The size of his room is perfect. It has everything that he needs. It's got sliding glass doors to go out to his patio. I thought it was very nice. Everything looks clean and fresh. They have card games, bingo, arts and crafts, and entertainment."

"I visited this facility last week and I was very pleased with cleanliness and friendliness of the staff. I am most definitely considering Assurance assisted living to help with my mom. I feel like she would be in great hands here. The one young lady Kiara was very sweet and answered all of my questions. She even was even open to some suggestions I made and said that she would consider accommodating them.Over all it was a pleasant visit and they are in my top 3."

"I liked the staff and the people there at American House Dearborn Heights. I liked the cleanliness of it, I liked the peacefulness of it, the way that they looked out for the residents, and how they have them communicating with each other. They can meet up in the community room and they can interact and not get lonely. They are interactive with the residents. I like how beautiful it is, the comfort of it, the peacefulness of it, the way it's decorated, and the flowers on the outside. It's like a real home to me. The food smelled good because when I went there, they were having dinner, but I didn't get to see it or taste it or anything. The rooms were set up very friendly towards people who could be slightly disabled or elderly. I liked the cleanliness of it. I liked the way it was decorated, the colors that they chose, and they're spacious. There's a lot of room and space for them to put things and decorate, put the furniture if they have furniture and stuff. They were furnished and some were unfurnished. The room that she showed me that was furnished was nice, but it was also spacious if people chose to bring their own furniture. I liked it."

"I toured Westhaven Manor. It was clean. The staff was knowledgeable about their job. I like the place. I saw the cafeteria area. They had a lot of nice amenities. They have their own transportation."

"I toured American House Westland Hunter. What I liked about it was that it was so clean, and the staff was wonderful. Everything was nice, so I didn't have any bad things to say about that place. I saw a one-bedroom apartment."

"American House Livonia was very nice and clean. The only thing was it was not secure. I didn't get to see the rooms. I saw the outside, the living room, and I had a meeting with the coordinator. Once we got to talking and he realized what I needed, that I needed more of a secure place because father wandered off, he referred me to see some other places. The living room was nice. There was a table there for them so I got to see some of the residents and some were on the porch. There was no odor. I like the place. The coordinator was very informative and helpful."

"I have a couple of friends there at Ashford Court. I'm also going to go into a studio there. It's pretty much just one room with a bathroom. I've their dining room and the main room when you walk in, they do entertainment. The staff members are all friendly. In terms of cleanliness, it's very clean."

"My mom has been here since April and for several months I was extremely happy with the facility, the staff was great when it came to the care of the residents. The only problem I had in the beginning was missing clothes and shoes. Recently the staff and administrators have changed and not for the better, I don’t understand why the change because the old staff was the best, no one is hardly available to address my concerns and the nursing staff is not as professional like the old staff which I wish could come back. At this point I’m looking for a new facility especially since they have increased their fees $200.00 and their services are no longer worth it. The only thing that is consistent from the time my mom moved in would be the activity director Bridgit, she is amazing and has my mother very active. It saddens me to see this beautiful place and staff in the beginning to change so drastically to the point I’m removing my mother from her comfort zone but I can’t keep her there. We had a life scare and Jatonya noticed she wasn’t breathing right called ems which I was told had it been any later she wouldn’t be here today. She is no longer there and that’s sad she was excellent at her job and I don’t feel this new staff are as attentive as the old staff, while I visit no one comes and check on her which they never know when we visit for this unhappiness I feel now she’s going to leave as soon as I find another happy place. I’m so sad to do this to my mom but the only thing to keep her there would be to return the old staff completely"

"We chose American House Westland Joy for my parents. It's independent living, but we can purchase additional care for them as needed. It's kind of a la carte. Based on what I've seen so far, I would probably give them five stars just for their customer service, their kindness, their flexibility, and their willingness to work with us on move-in dates and the particulars of our needs. One of the things that I liked about American House was the size of the rooms. I had looked at some other assisted living rooms and the rooms were much smaller and didn't have a full kitchen, which my parents can still use. I liked that there's a kitchen, there's a place where they can have a table, a stove, and a refrigerator. The apartments are updated with nice flooring and a little bit more updated cabinets. The apartments themselves were nice. They had lunch for us and my parents loved it. They thought it was delicious. I had some soup myself and I thought it was delicious as well. They gave me an activity calendar. They have a lot of activities at the facility. One night when I had stopped in to visit, they were having a holiday party and they had it very nicely set up with music. There were lots of families there with the residents. That was nice to see as well. The prices are what made me choose them overall."

"I like the location of Parkside of Livonia Senior Apartments, as well as the layout of the apartments here. The staff is exceedingly friendly and helpful. The meals are not included. However, there are days when groups of people order in and eat at the gathering and eat together. They have evening activities, card games, and there is an area where they have puzzles open and available to use. There are several TVs available to watch as a group in different areas. I appreciate the fact that there is some additional storage area for each unit. That is very nice. This place is a very good fit for me and the people are extremely helpful."
