"Sycamore Creek Ranch-Cypresswood was very nice. I would have been very comfortable putting Mom there, and that's not far away. By the time that I was there, just touring it and talking to people, everything seemed nice. The residents seemed very happy. The person who gave me the tour was very informative. Everybody else, when we passed them in the hall, spoke and was friendly. So, the staff seemed fine and everybody seemed to engage with the residents, which I thought was a good sign."

"My mom moved into Village Green Alzheimer's Care Home - Conroe. It's clean, small, and the staff there are very caring, open, and really good with the residents. They have an outdoor patio. The common area is open and bright. There were some other homes that I toured that were also clean, but they just seemed very dark and dingy to me. There were two homes that I toured that were just awful, smelly, and their furniture was all worn out and old. You could tell that they didn't have money to even replace some of their awful furniture, but Village Green is very clean, bright, and has a very bright outlook. It is just bright and cheerful. They have a beauty salon, and my mom already had her hair done; she loved it. They have a community dog that just lives in the facility. They allow pets, so there is another resident that has a dog. They only allow us to visit in the patient's room. My mom goes to a lot of activities that she has talked about."

"Woodhaven Village was gorgeous. Love it. However, they require the food plan, which means that we're looking more towards $4,000 a month. My mother weighs 100 pounds. She does not eat breakfast. Everything we looked at with the full meal plan was not anything we were even remotely interested in. Woodhaven is opening up a 55 plus, but they are requiring a one-year lease, and we would like something a little bit more flexible. The amenities are gorgeous, beautiful, and in a very well kept area."

"I toured Heritage Tomball. It was very pleasant. I had a young lady named Mary. She was very straightforward, very polite, and very pleasant to talk to. She answered my questions. The reason I went back the second time was because my mom was asking for a different floor plan, and so I had only looked at it the very first time. They were very small, just a bedroom, which my mom did not want, so I went back a second time just to look at a bigger room. Mary was there and still once again spent plenty of time with me. I didn't feel rushed like I was with some of the other places. The only thing that I did not like was its one story and my mom is in a wheelchair. In order for her to get to whatever room she would be in the dining room is quite a waste. It's a very, very long hall. That's my only issue. So, I mean, that's not that big of a deal. She could probably call for help because it might take her a while, and she might miss lunch or dinner by the time she got there. The heritage seems to be reasonable, and Mary even said that she could possibly get the rental down even a little bit more for us, so nobody else had ever said that to me before. No complaints. The location is great, right by the hospital, and right across from my doctor's office, if she needs a female doctor or anything like that, and about 20 minutes from me. The facility didn't smell bad. Everybody was pleasant. The staff members that would walk by me would say hello to me."

"We toured the assisted living of Proveer At Northgate. It was very nice, and they're very personable. It's not as full as other places. It's a large facility, but they only have 15 residents. That was kind of nice, that they don't have that many residents yet. The staff is great and the facilities are very nice and clean. They also have nice rooms."

"I visited Brookdale Champions twice because of the location. My mom loves trees, and it's just surrounded by trees. The first time I visited it would have been in my mom's budget, and then all of a sudden their prices were changed. They went up two months after I had visited, the type of room that my mom would want along with the assessment, and as far as what type of care she needs. That monthly fee was close to $8,000 a month, so I said, "No way. Sorry. Thank you." But I loved it as well. It was beautiful. Everything was great but my mom wanted, like, a little sitting room, plus a bedroom, and so that's what I went back a second time to look at it. They were very clean. The staff answered all my questions, she was very helpful. She did tell me that they had a military discount and things like that. She asked questions about my mom and where she was at. She told me a lot about social activities. I didn't feel rushed. She explained everything to me. She was very pleasant to talk to."

"I went to Heritage Oaks Assisted Living & Memory Care and toured their memory unit, and I was extremely impressed. They were clean. The residents seemed happy. They had lots of activities. It's a beautiful facility. They had a nice inside garden for the residents to walk in. Everything was good. The staff was very friendly. They offered us to come back for lunch."

"I thought for sure that we were going to end up here. The staff members were amazing, we only went for a visit but I was so impressed with the staff. I cannot emphasize that more. I would feel really very comfortable in moving my dad there. But to get my dad to sign up, we needed this place to have an independent living. But this community didn't have that. Their facilities were great, and the room was perfect. They have a calendar of activities as well, and I was really impressed. I wish it would all have been on the ground floor, although there might be a good reason to have a second floor."

"My father-in-law moved to Worthington Manor. The halls are wide, so two or three people can pass at a time. His bathroom is very ADA and nicely laid out. The rooms are spacious. He has a nice view. He has a back door. He could go outside and sit on the patio. It was very clean and organized. The staff was very helpful and professional, and we met the owner. The food is great, and they have a chef. They have a regular menu, and then if you don't like the regular menu, they have an off-menu, which includes chicken salad and hamburgers. They had a gospel quartet and a country western singer. They have a movie theater. They have a lot of activities. They have a barber shop here to get a pedicure and a haircut. Compared to everything else, it's almost the same price."

"I toured Landon Ridge Kingwood. They were wonderful. They were very, very helpful. They had made an appointment. So they greeted me. They walked me through the entire facility. It was just really nice as well. Some people were out in the garden, and it was just a lovely place. They were very caring. It was all very clean and very accessible. You could just tell that the memory care patients would be able to get around very easily the minute that they would come out. I asked what would happen if somebody came out of their room. "Oh, somebody is always in the hallway. They would come right out and greet your mom." So I'd like that attention to all the memory care patients."

"My Aunt B., was a resident at the Assisted Living home and my mother in law is now a resident of the Memory Care home. The caregivers and staff are very professional and always loving and kind to the residents. We really trust them with the care of our loved ones."

"My wife was at Spring Cypress. Everything about it was an A-plus in my opinion. I think the management and the care overall were exceptional, and it's a very, very fine facility to begin with. I moved her out because I wanted to move back to Arizona where we had more contacts. Spring Cypress had about every activity you could think of, from numerous games to working on speech therapy and exercises. Her room was very, very nice. I got her a queen-sized bed with two bedside tables, a dresser, a TV, a recliner chair, and a bookshelf wall unit. They have a very nice courtyard where they could go out and walk and sit. The interaction with the staff was very good, and the communication with me was exceptional also."

"I have visited Morada Cy-Fair, and I thought they were very good for the amount of care that they have. They have independent living, assisted living, and memory care. It's very well-run. I saw a lot of staff during my visit. It's very busy, and I thought it might overwhelm my father. They had all the right amenities. The room I saw was nice, clean, and well-kept. I would have to move my dad's furniture in. The staff was very attentive. They were being friendly when we walked by. They introduced me to different people, like this person that took care of the laundry and all that. Everybody was busy. They had activities. They had a bus that would take people places. It had a good, open, and secure outdoor area, and I liked all of that. It's on a busy main road in the area. Once you get into the facility, they had a nice big open area where most of the residents would be and a couple of extra courtyards."
