I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother is currently staying at Belmont Village St. Matthews. We chose it because of my father, but he passed away. It's good for a couple, or for a single person with dementia, and they have an award-winning memory care program. The room is gorgeous, it's a two-bedroom apartment with its own bathroom, and there's a small kitchenette. Some of the staff members are fantastic, but they had a hard time keeping theur staff. The service wasn't always good, and the food was sometimes bland, but they provided three meals a day, which was nice.

Belmont Village St. Matthews is very nice and very good. The staff has been helpful so far, and I would recommend them. The food is fantastic and the staff seems to be very professional. My parents are in the Circle of Friends memory care program. They have varied activities that they do and they also enjoy the meals.

Belmont Village St. Matthews was super nice and wonderful. The lady who gave us the tour was wonderful and super friendly. The place is very high on the list of places we're considering. Everyone was friendly. We loved the space, which was bright, open, and inviting. We liked it a lot. The rooms looked very comfortable and everything was well-done. It was a bright and cheery place, and wasn't dreary at all. It had a more modern, comfortable, and welcoming feeling. It looked like they had a lot of nice, smaller places for conversation for when you have friends or family come over. Everything wasn't just a big open space. The dining spaces were nice as well as the place where they do movies. It had a nice feel to it.

We visited Belmont Village and toured the independent side. It was the most expensive one we went to. The staff was very relaxed, very informative, and asked my mom questions. It had more multi-denominational religious events in the schedule.

My mom was in Belmont Village before, and they provide nursing care. The facility was very nice, clean, up to date, and cheerful. They had entertainment for the residents, and everything was top notch. The nurses, and nurse assistants were great. The only downside was it was very expensive, and her room was a tiny studio. They had live music, children who came in to perform, magic shows, picnics on Memorial Day, and a great program for people who had memory loss.

My wife was in Belmont Village; it’s a nice facility, but it’s a little older. The residents are mixed; you have a lot of people that are mentally sound, and I would have liked it better for people that don’t have Alzheimer’s or stage 1 Alzheimer’s. However, if you have a stage 2 to 3 Alzheimer’s like my wife, I would not put her there. The executive director was not as efficient. However, I was extremely impressed with their relationship with Vanderbilt University to help Alzheimer’s patients. They also have a 69-point inspection or review which they do regularly, to see that they’re doing what they’re supposed to do. The food was fine, and the location was in a very busy area, but it’s accessible to a lot of people. The room varies, and when my wife was on the 3rd floor, she had a nice room.

Belmont Village was fairly well established and a long standing community. It’s a little dated though. It’s an apartment style with assisted living but also has nurse on staff 24/7, and the staff was helpful. There’s an activity calendar. My mom is doing a temporary stay. The food is good, and she seems to like it.

I visited this facility

I spent 2 ½ hours with the person at Belmont Village. From the minute that I walked in, I was greeted by the front desk person, who offered something to drink while I waited for the person who was going to show me around. It was a really great feeling for me. People were visiting with their family members and coming in to have lunch with their relatives. It was getting close to Christmas, so it was just a wonderful experience. They had the memory care unit sectioned off into stages, and for each stage, they had certain activities for them to do. They had their own dining room and it seemed nice to me. It didn’t seem chaotic and was very under control. My father-in-law can hold a conversation while the other people on the floor are further advanced than he is, so I can see where that could be disappointing. The place just blew me away. Everything about it was wonderful, up until we talked about the price. For a shared room, it was around $6,500, and then for everything that they have to do for him, like making sure he takes his medicine, is a la carte.

They did not go out of their way to make anybody feel happy at Belmont Village St. Matthews. Their food was mediocre. It was expensive. The room was very comfortable. I was not impressed with the staff. It was well decorated.

Belmont Village is very nice. The community is very light, decorated very beautifully, and I found it to be a very pleasant community. I enjoyed the visit, and I like the amenities but this would be my third choice.

Belmont Village St. Matthews was a very nice place. It was very clean. The people I met were very professional. It was really, really nice, and I'd love for my parents to be able to go there, but it was just too expensive. I toured a couple of rooms, and they're wonderful. In terms of location, Belmont Village is located around a bunch of malls, and the traffic in that area is horrendous. If they can afford it, I would recommend this place. They need to improve on the prices.

I like the cleanliness and the level of care at Belmont Village. I also like that it has care for Alzheimer's although it is an assisted living facility. They have plenty of staff. There are nurses on duty 24/7. They have nice rooms. They have meals prepared by chefs. I am just really impressed with the way it is run.

Atria St. Matthews was a beautiful facility. The staff was nice and friendly. It seem like a really suitable place for my parents to live. The place was well decorated. It was very quiet compare to the other places we were at. They take the residents to go shopping or even to the movies.

One of my father's friends is in Belmont Village. It's very nice, but his friend keeps telling him how expensive it is. The staff is really nice, and it seemed that they're taking really good care of their residents. Food is really good, too. We saw somebody that came in and sang big band songs during one of our visits, and that was quite interesting.

Belmont Village was wonderful. They work with me and they got her in. I had to go out of town right away but they took care of her. It's been a good deal. The staff was very nice.

I visited this facility

My grandfather was very hesitant prior to staying at Belmont Village of St. Matthews. After arriving and getting settled in he was still very uneasy about his expectations of the facility. The staff there made every effort to make him feel like "home". When I came to surprise him by visiting for his birthday, every one greeted me and welcomed me like I was a part of the family. I can remember smiling faces as I arrived and when they asked who I was visiting. They were excellent in guiding me on my triumphs of surprising him. When I asked him how his stay was going, he mentioned that he had nothing short of great experiences at the home. He was confident that it would be a place that he could live his years to come, however long that may be. I am thrilled that he is content with everything now and would definitely recommend this facility to anyone.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My grandmother was a resident at this facility for about two a half years. I visited her a few times during her stay, usually around the holidays, but I did visit once during the summer. The facility was always clean and well lit, with plenty of staff around. I always noticed their eyes darting down to my visitor badge, which made me feel like my grandmother was safe. Her room was medium sized, although the bathroom was large, with lots of handrails. When I stayed for dinner, the food was pretty good, definitely better than hospital food. During one of my visits I saw numerous seniors attending a seminar, which seemed to be about current events. A man was talking about the unemployment and underemployment problem, relating it to events in the past so the listeners could understand. It wasn't a depressing place that smelled, and my family could feel good about my grandmother staying there. It helps that it was her choice to move, after she became unable to do her daily life activities.

My grand father seemed very irritated at the notion on moving into an assisted living home after a rather devastating medical problem robbed him of his ability to live alone, but quickly grew to love Belmont.Being that the facility is in the heart of St. Matthews, our family always had a pleasant experience with the grounds. It was mere minutes away from the bustling retail centers and several restaurants, making trips and activities very easy to manage. The staff was always polite and ever present. The nurses always greeted us when we bumped into her in the halls and all the community was very friendly over all.As far as accommodation goes, Belmont was quite humble. My grandfather was never much of a computer guy, but he enjoyed sitting with me while I fiddled around the free internet in the locals. We'd watch shows or just funny videos online just like we would at his old house. When I would go off to school for the fall / spring semesters, we'd always keep in touch via email, I reckon someone was nice enough to help him set up an account in my absence! He always said the food was "nothing compared to HIS cooking" but was generally pleased with what they had to offer. The facility seemed to be teeming with community spirit and liveliness; it certainly taught me quickly the error in my assumptions of a typical "old folks home".
