"My father will be moving in. We chose it among others because it was nicer, had a better menu, everything was brand new, and I just felt comfortable there. Everybody has been very pleasant and awesome so far. The facility is first class and they've got unbelievable amenities. I've met three people including the salesguy and the nurse, and they are awesome."

"Creekside on Whipps Mill was very nice and clean. The memory care rooms were nice and roomy. They had their own bathroom. The people were very friendly and helpful. They were able to answer all of our questions. Monica was very nice. I took my mother with me and Monica's rapport with her was good. She was a very personable person. I found it to be a very pleasant place to stay and I would refer anybody there that needed respite."

"We moved dad to Christian Care Communities - Middletown because it seemed like the right place. So far, it's been fine. The staff is fine. They're really good. My dad likes the food, but I haven't tasted it myself. They have a courtyard. They have a place to sit outside, and there's a pavilion. Overall, the value for money is good. It's located close to stuff, and the cleanliness of the place is good."

"We went to BeeHive Homes of Louisville/Lyndon. They take memory care people, but they were not labeled as such, and that might be what was going on. Most facilities have a doorbell that you have to ring, and then somebody comes and unlocks the door to let you in, but with this one, you can just walk through the door. They said there was an alarm bell that would go off, and they said they knew I was coming in as I went in the door, but I didn't hear the alarm, and that kind of made me a little leery that perhaps it might be easy for my brother to get out if he decided to start wandering around. Other than that, it was a marvelous facility. The people there were very friendly. They seemed to be very caring. The whole facility was run like it was a family home. Everybody seemed to be extremely amenable to doing whatever needed to be done to take care of my brother. So that place was fantastic. The facility's maintenance was fine. I didn't see anything wrong with it at all. I like it really well, but the only thing that bothered me is the security."

"The rooms are about average in size but there are no closets so creativity using space saving storage furnishings is a must. There are long entry halls into the rooms which made a nice spot to place a portable closet for my mother. Floor cabinets in the bathroom work well for towels and wash clothes as well as personal care items and a narrow multi-tier floor shelf by the sink is helpful as well. The inside of the building is beautiful and huge. There is a lot of space for visitations from family and they have lovely spaces to gather in. The staff are very kind and attentive. I am still getting to know several of them but the ones I have met have been great. Some of the staff do have heavy Latino accents and might make communication a little challenging at times. I have a hearing impairment, so this is a little uncomfortable for me when it happens but you couldn't ask for nicer people. They truly are a caring and polite bunch. My mother's condition improved greatly immediately upon moving into the facility. I remember her very first reaction when we pulled up to the facility to take a tour, she gasped and said "They have Mayan columns!" My mother has been to Cancun, Mexico more times than I can count. It is her favorite place in the world aside from where she was born and raised. It was a good sign and a great start. Prior to going to Spring House, she stayed in bed, rarely ever left her room, she wasn't getting any exercise, she was losing weight from not eating well, among other challenges. Once she moved into Spring House, she immediately began spending long periods of time out of her room in the dining area, her appetite has greatly improved, she's been taking with other residents and she has even watched some TV in the entertainment area in what I am just going to call the great hall because that is what it reminds me of. It's a dining room and entertainment room combined and it's massive. I hope in time they will put up some privacy fencing and create some outdoor gardens. At present there isn't a very pleasant view out the window of my mother's room but I am working on creating a window garden to make the window beautiful itself. I'm also planning to put a hummingbird feeder and bird house outside her window. It's a new facility, so it's a work in progress. I look forward to seeing what they eventually do with the outdoor areas around the building. The facility my mother was in previously was horrible so there is a stark difference to me so far with Spring House. I also feel like my mother is much safer in this facility as well as the area. They have a great referral program. I hope to be able to refer a few new people to the facility with the hopes of being able to save enough money to obtain a Handpan eventually (they are incredibly expensive), learn how to play it and then play for the residents. They have the most lovely, soothing, relaxing sound which I feel would greatly benefit the residents and to my surprise, I cannot seem to find any Handpan players in the Louisville area (I was going to see if I could find someone willing to volunteer some of their time) or if there are, they are well hidden or perhaps learning still how to play themselves. If you are bringing your loved one to Spring House, I hope we will meet and be friends in the near future. The staff will know who I am and you're welcome to reach out to me if you have questions you'd like to talk with a resident family member about. I wish you and your loved one all the best. God bless!"

"My grandmother was a resident at this facility for about two a half years. I visited her a few times during her stay, usually around the holidays, but I did visit once during the summer. The facility was always clean and well lit, with plenty of staff around. I always noticed their eyes darting down to my visitor badge, which made me feel like my grandmother was safe. Her room was medium sized, although the bathroom was large, with lots of handrails. When I stayed for dinner, the food was pretty good, definitely better than hospital food. During one of my visits I saw numerous seniors attending a seminar, which seemed to be about current events. A man was talking about the unemployment and underemployment problem, relating it to events in the past so the listeners could understand. It wasn't a depressing place that smelled, and my family could feel good about my grandmother staying there. It helps that it was her choice to move, after she became unable to do her daily life activities. "

"I will move my mother to Vivera Senior Living. The place was new and I felt like they were professional and had all of the options that she would need. And also, I felt like it was more aligned with what she would want. The apartment was a decent size, and the layout was nice and easily accessible. They had a lot of options. It was clean and very well put together. I don't think it was activity time when I was there. I was there more at lunchtime, so there were people in the dining hall. But the activity schedule, a lot was going on. The staff was phenomenal, really knowledgeable, and very professional. I could tell they were involved. They had a van for transportation. They had a lot of courtyards and outdoor spaces and raised gardening. There were a lot of amenities."

"I toured Westminster Village Kentuckiana. It looked like a nice place, and the people in that building were fairly active. The dining room was available, and you could select the meal plan as an option; you didn't have to take it. The range was a little bit on the weird side. It had four burners, which were all small and jammed close together, so you could only use two-quart pots at one time. It was bizarre."

"My mother likes The Mansion on Main. We haven't had any complaints because she hasn't been there very long. The rooms are nice. It's a very clean place. She's satisfied, and they seem to take care of her. I haven't heard any complaints about it. She loves the food and the staff, and I met with a few of them. It's excellent. Her room is very clean, and she's got plenty of room. They have the regular bingo, church, and bible studies. They're all locked down right now, so you can't visit. I would recommend it to somebody if they would ask me. When I walked in, it didn't feel like a nursing home or assisted living. It was really nice. The price is in line with the other places."

"CountrySide Meadows is a small facility. They only have 20-21 beds, and it's really more personal there. There are people there who probably need to be in a nursing home, but they take care of them. My mother wasn't happy there, she had to move out of her room. She had a single room to herself. They have two to three people working on their staff and the most they ever had is 20 people since there are only 20 rooms, so you get more like one-on-one care. There's less workload on the people that take care of the residents. Their activities were minimal, and there's really no amenities there."

"I'm moving into Forest Springs Health Campus. It has independent living villas, individual houses, and one-bedroom units. They take care of all the things in the rent. The only thing you have to pay for is your phone. They do housekeeping twice a month. If you don't feel like cooking in your kitchen, you can go to the cafeteria and get a home-cooked meal for $5. It's really nice. There was a man walking with his dog. They have a clubhouse that you can have a party in with no charge except you have to reserve the place. They have a library and a beauty shop, and a lot of activities. I got in the mail an itinerary of what they have this month. They have people and doctors come in and give lectures, and they have merchants come in and sell their stuff. I only associated with one person, and she was very nice. They gave us a meal and it was very good. The facility was clean."

"Making a smooth transition for my aging parents was key. Eric and the staff were amazing at making them feel right at home. Because of the small number of residents, my parents get more attention to detail and their personal needs. The love and support offered here is a blessing. Our family is very thankful our parents are so happy living in their new home almost three years in April! "
