"I went to Christian Care Communities - Middletown. The tour was very nice overall. I felt very welcomed. The room was very well kept. It was very nice. The staff was very knowledgeable. They had been working there for many years."

"It looked more homey. The staff from the director down to the maintenance men are all wonderful. There was a lot of activity, a lot of the seniors were wandering around or sitting in the lobby. It just was inviting. The residents were happy. The day we moved my dad in, my husband found it depressing, and I said I don’t find it depressing at all. None of them are in great shape, but they are happy. As soon as he walked in to the door, dad said, I really like it, and the next day I talked to him i asked if he still liked it, and he said "I absolutely love it." He has been very pleased as well. He told me they had happy hour. They go to outings and go to a couple of restaurants each month. They go baseball games, they have in house movies, and they play cards. They served meals three times a day, and they have a small menu, anything between 8 and 6 with sandwiches and stuff. "

"My mother likes The Mansion on Main. We haven't had any complaints because she hasn't been there very long. The rooms are nice. It's a very clean place. She's satisfied, and they seem to take care of her. I haven't heard any complaints about it. She loves the food and the staff, and I met with a few of them. It's excellent. Her room is very clean, and she's got plenty of room. They have the regular bingo, church, and bible studies. They're all locked down right now, so you can't visit. I would recommend it to somebody if they would ask me. When I walked in, it didn't feel like a nursing home or assisted living. It was really nice. The price is in line with the other places."

"I toured Westminster Village Kentuckiana. It looked like a nice place, and the people in that building were fairly active. The dining room was available, and you could select the meal plan as an option; you didn't have to take it. The range was a little bit on the weird side. It had four burners, which were all small and jammed close together, so you could only use two-quart pots at one time. It was bizarre."

"I toured Harmony at Tucker Station. It was very well laid out. The decor was beautiful and it was very clean. The people there seemed very nice and helpful. The staff was very professional and very friendly."

"I am a resident of The Grand Senior Living. It's a beautiful place to live. The people are very friendly and they make you feel at home. The food is delicious, including all the meals and snacks. The place is new. It's only been open for four and a half years and everything is well-appointed. I am gradually getting moved in because you provide your furniture. It's set up with a living room area, a fully appointed kitchen, a washer and dryer, a one-bedroom, and a large bathroom. I have a balcony that overlooks a wildlife area and it's a very quiet place to live. The layout of the building is very easy to get around and they have elevators everywhere. They have lots of classes offered. I've already been to a yoga chair class, there are plenty of offerings every day, and it's one of the few places that has a heated pool."

"Our mom lives at StoryPoint Middletown. We’ve been so pleased with so many aspects of her life at StoryPoint. The facilities are new and beautiful. The chef and her staff create and serve amazing meals every day. The activities at StoryPoint are varied, and numerous, with a diverse menu of activities happening each day. The thing we most appreciate about StoryPoint, Middletown, is the people themselves. Whether you’re talking about the Directors and front desk staff, the kitchen or housekeeping personnel, the activities directors, or the medical support staff, to a person, they have been genuine and caring, always going out of their way to gently and kindly meet the needs of our mom, and the needs of the other residents. Their pleasant and positive attitudes and customer oriented approach to service has made for a wonderful environment in which our mom has been able to thrive. We truly appreciate our friends at StoryPoint."

"Traditions at Beaumont is a wonderful place, it's clean, and the food is beautiful. I enjoy the food. I enjoy the people. The director of the institution goes into the kitchen everyday and washes dishes. They will do anything to make your life easier. They have trips, they're organizing an outing to the Newport Aquarium in about a month, they take you to your doctors' appointments, and we go out to eat at different restaurants. There's a game room with all kinds of games like bingo and poker."

"Lake Forest Village Retirement Resort was definitely a cleaner place. They're not doing any construction and they have a lot more amenities. People can do dancing or singing, and their theater was bigger, and had a lot more seating. It's a little more expensive too, but everything was perfect. The lady who gave the tour was very good and knowledgeable. She was even excited to show us around. She had a lot of good things to say and did excellent. They actually offered us that for any event coming up, we would be invited to come join them to experience a little bit of their food. They have a nice little theater where they can show movies, do stage plays, or hold church services, then conversation rooms, and arts and crafts rooms. I saw a two-bedroom with a master bath and it was big. It looked really good."

"It was nice. The staff was nice. There was puzzle-making when I was there. The one-bedroom apartments were nice, and they had a pretty big gathering space. The food was good."

"We went to Traditions at Hunter Station. We basically visited the patio home, which is actually bigger than the home my mom owns now, and it's pretty cool. It's brand new; it's 2 years old. The independent living facility is incredibly nice. We like the size of the patio home and the garage that goes with it."

"Masonic Home was more of a nice, personal care center where everyone had their own 24-hour nursing staff. It also had a rehab center attached. It was a very nice place and very big. They had two beauty salons, a chapel, and an activity calendar with activities every day. "

"My mom is in skilled care at The Altenheim as she took a turn for the worse, but they do offer care anywhere from independent living, assisted living, and skilled care. I think the independent living and the assisted living are part of a building that was originally an old mansion in town, and then they redid it to very nice units in a large enough apartment style. The skilled care where my mom is was added on in the late 80s. It was big enough for them, but small as they are taking care of 20 residents in total, but she is getting really excellent care. The rooms were better although there were still two beds in a room, but they each have a large full length window. They have their own restaurant service. "
