"Dominion Senior Living of Frankfort was good. The rooms were adequate. They had a place to get your hair fixed, a chapel, a place to eat, a place to walk, and a place to sit outside. We went there a week or two before it opened. Both memory care and assisted living were in the same building."

"The one thing that I like about Morning Pointe was that they had an Alzheimer's unit. For me it was more than an assisted living facility. It was kind of a step between a nursing home and an assisted living. It was kind of that little bridge. Everyone was very helpful with us also. They were great too. There were daily activities, but nothing was happening at that time because we were visiting at lunchtime. They do have bingo and outings. They had very nice rooms and would also let you had your pets. We were very pleased in visiting this place. "

"My mother is a current resident of Hometown Manor Assisted Living, Lawrenceburg. The facility is clean, everybody has their own rooms, and they do showering twice a week. I believe there are 12 residents in the facility. They cook three meals a day. It's just a very nice facility for anybody that needs assisted living and the employees are very kind. The rooms are nice, everybody has their own half bath, you have a closet, they're nice size rooms. They have two different sized rooms, they have mostly your regular sized rooms, and then they have a couple of the larger sized rooms. It's just a basic house. The activities they do, they play bingo, on holidays they paint and do things that fit with the holidays. They don't do a whole lot, but they try to keep the residents happy and have little things to do for them. The staff is good and my mom is enjoying the meals. I think they can have more activities, but I would recommend it to people."

"My mother is in Homeplace at Midway. They told us that once her money runs out, if they have a bed that they will still provide for her. They will not make her move into a state assisted place. They will allow her to stay there if there's a facility for her, which I really liked. I do not like the idea of having my mother at an older age having to leave everybody that she has known. The Homeplace itself is a beautiful place. It has beautiful grounds. They serve a lot of chicken and potato chips, and that is one of my pet peeves. A potato chip is not a meal; it is a snack. I think they need to have a little bit better variety of food. The food is good, and the cooking is very good. It is just that it is repetitive. It's more chicken and more chicken. The dining area is very nice. The rooms are beautiful. She has a living room, a small kitchenette, windows to look outside, a nice huge bathroom, and a nice size bedroom with two closets. The rooms are very spacious. I do not know what they have for facilities because with the Covid, we have not been able to be in. I sent her in and it was Covid. It was one of the hardest things I could have ever done because I could not see her forever it seemed like."

"The management and staff at Daisy Hill are fabulous. We have been very impressed with their caring attitude and effort to go “above and beyond”. My father-in-law is not in love with the quality of the meals, but he also hasn’t been happy with much that we have brought him to eat from outside Daisy Hill. As far as the facilities, the apartments are more spacious than other assisted living facilities that we toured. His is exceptionally spacious and has a screened in porch which also allows us to visit him without going through the main lobby, which he has indicated makes him feel more like he is living at a “real” apartment. "

"Masonic Home Shelbyville is older than my parents' current community. Their apartments were also a little bit smaller. The staff members who assisted me during my visit were very professional, very nice, and very informative."

"We toured Windsor Gardens. We love the facilities; they were very nice. We have been familiar with it for several years. It was now very well-lighted when before it was dark. They changed that. Everything is much brighter and lighter in there. The rooms were nice. We were looking for a 1-bedroom and one with its own heating and cooling unit in the room so you can control your own temperature in your room. We like some of the activities; they offer lots of activities. My wife was in that kind of stuff. They also have a bus that takes you to local appointments. We have several of those here in Georgetown and we have a few in Lexington. Overall, we were very pleased with it. We liked the people that were there, and we liked the guy that was running it. I think he is a minister. He was very nice and very helpful. And the people were very friendly. We had people walking up to us, speaking to us saying hello, and so forth, and we weren't expecting that. It's a very friendly community, so we were very, very satisfied with it. It's a little bit more expensive than some of those we looked at but was also cheaper than some. So, it's close to being our ballpark. The room would have been completely redecorated and redone because they were working on it. Somebody had moved out and they redo the rooms completely when they move out. They were putting in new carpeting, new paint, and redoing everything in the apartment. The staff were nice. They went out of their way to accommodate us and show us the place. They had a good meal service and a good game area and so forth. They have activities set up by an activities director. The place wasn't that old. My mother lived there, so it hasn't been more than about ten years or so. And then they've redone a lot and refurbished a lot since then, so it's almost all new again. So, the building itself is more attractive."

"I put my mother in a care facility called Hometown Manor. It’s a small community. It’s clean, neat, and laid out well. The staff is attentive and helpful. "

"Hometown Manor Assisted Living was nice and their price range was the best for me. The rooms were a decent size. It's just what you would need in an assisted living facility. It's clean and they offer memory care. They do all the meals, and if you move your relative there, they clean towels and washcloths, and furnish the bedding. The staff is fine, and they have good cooks there. The memory care has a smaller group of people, which I liked better than the bigger group. It was personal. The person that runs it was very nice, very appropriate, and appeared to be somebody that was there to help and not judge. They had a lot of activities, especially for people with memory care."

"My mom moved to Meadowthorpe Assisted Living & Memory Care. I'm very happy with the community. I like the place very much. It doesn't feel like a nursing home environment. It's very clean, very small, and community-oriented with a lot fewer people, so she's not overstimulated. They don't do a good job keeping up with her meds, but that's because it's not skilled nursing. I would like to see the same people all the time. Unfortunately, it's just not that way and that's business, but everybody I have met has been very helpful and kind. I'm very satisfied with the staff. There's lots of room for improvement. My mom was very into the loud music at the other place we had her in, and I certainly missed that. I'm not aware of any activities they've done with my mom. There are not as many activities, but there's also the adjustment period, maybe she'll settle in and get more into that, but right now she's not. I'm very happy with the food and with the dining area. It's very small and quaint. It's only eight people living in that building. So it's very nice and the food quality is much better where she is now than where she was."

"My aunt lived at Crescent Place and it was an amazing experience for our family. The staff was so wonderful and made us feel like she was at home. The food and activities were great. Her apartment was spacious with a large walk-in closet. At each meal she could choose from a menu what she wanted to eat. "

"This facility was one of the nicest assisted living facilities I have seen. The atmosphere was dignified and very comfortable. there are many activites and social areas for the residents and visiting friends and family. all the staff is friendly and helpful and willing to assist in any way needed. I could not find fault with anything other than it would be nice if the facility also had the ability to transition the patients from assisted living to nursing home needs. would recommend for any friend or family member. "

"I saw Cedarhurst of Beaumont. It was a newer facility, I was really impressed with everything. She showed me two different apartments, it was clean, and it was new. I would have been fine taking my mother there except, the room that they have for my mom was far away from the elevator, and this was like a 4-story building, and I was worried that my mother would just get lost there. I was worried the walk would be too long for the elevator, and also, it's just kind of a big facility. I loved the facility, the pricing was good, and everything was good, but it wasn't for my mom. The staff was good, the dining area was really attractive and pleasing. They showed me different places, that they would have different things, they had an outdoor area, that they would have dinner as well with music, and they had an exercise place."

"My mom is at Lexington Country Place for rehab. The staff members have been fantastic. They all seem to care very much about the residents and get them involved in the activities. They don't have a lot of idle time or just sit around. They help the residents feel at home. They have lots of activities, like a church service and entertainment. Everybody that I have interacted with has been helpful and attentive. The food is considerate and pretty good. My mom says she likes it. The facility is very nice. They have four garden areas and lots of sunshine. They have a church service, and they play bingo often."
