I had been trying to find the perfect place to place my loved one once her care exceeded what we were able to fully provide in home. I know that all caregivers want to keep their loved one at home as long as they can, and at StoryPoint, I feel like this was our next best option from being at home. From my first visit to tour the facility to moving my loved one in, it has felt like an extension of home and family - which places an ease on my heart knowing that she is being cared for in the best possible ways. Also to add, I can visit my loved one at anytime - no visit times - just as I feel I want/need to. Any questions that I have had, StoryPoint staff have been super helpful - always answering my questions, even though trivial and silly. If you are on the fence for placing a loved one because you don't feel like you can do it, just like I was, please take the time to tour StoryPoint and give them the opportunity to show you all that they have to offer. I had toured many sites prior to StoryPoint, feeling defeated and with a scary feeling of how I was going to keep the care of my loved one up, but StoryPoint put me at ease. You can tell that their staff loves what they do and are in it for the right reasons.

My mom moved into StoryPoint Prospect a week ago. I like pretty much everything about it. They have their own yard for walking. They have 24/7 care people in that memory unit. We understand there's a two-week grace period for my mom to get adapted there, but it looks like it's going well so far. I have not tasted the food, but I was told that my mom was eating well, so I guess it is good. The facility was very well-maintained and I like how it looks like. They have puzzles and musical activities. There are a lot of things that people living there can do. The place was very welcoming. This was pretty much the reason why we chose them over others.

I stayed here after a hip replacement. I am 90 years old, 91 in March. The facility is top notch. The food is amazing. I was surprised by how many activities were available for us residents. The services they provide went above and beyond my expectations. It is very open and clean but still has a comfortable feel. At first, I thought the staff was looking at their phones a little too much and then I learned their healthcare system runs through the phones. They receive detailed information regarding residents and other issues in real time. This explains why the staff is so exceptional at accommodating each resident's individual needs. So friendly and attentive. I absolutely recommend this facility and would stay here again. Job well done.

I visited a friend, staff greeted me as I entered the building. I had the pronate lunch and the food was amazing. My friend stated she received excellent care and is very happy. Wished she had made the move sooner.

The personal care area is really nice with great room options. The common areas are really well decorated and maintained. The dining room is nice with good food and friendly staff. The team cares about the tenants and treats like family. The memory care area is a good size. Lastly the cost was one of the best values for Oldham County and East End Louisville that I found when selecting home for my mom. Recommend this plan as not too big and just right size to help personalize your experience and care.

The rooms are relatively spacious, but you'll likely need to clean it yourself as housekeeping is hit or miss. I have several pictures of things like vomit on the floor, two separate times that urine samples were left out for an unspecified amount of time. And the bathroom, yikes, have had to clean that myself several times as well. Food - definite improvement over time! But, they serve soda with every single meal. It is served family style and some residents cannot cut their food, so they do the best they can eating. But overall, one thing that has improved, is the quality of the food. Interaction with staff - well, if you can find them! Some are very good. Most are not. I have several pictures of staff sleeping. I have heard on numerous occasions, the staff yelling at residents in memory care because they won't do what they want them to do. It is shocking. Several weeks ago, both memory care doors were alarming for well over 8 minutes with no one on the unit to stop the alarm. I watched and caught another memory care resident leaving the unit and brought him back in. I have video of this. The memory care unit is locked and you have to ring a bell. I often wait well over 5 minutes for someone to let me in. I think the record was around 15 minutes, despite ringing several times. I found a nurse and she let me in. If you're looking for consistent enrichment for your memory care family, this is not the place. I have found that they are on their phones and actually seem quite bothered to be there. They complain loudly to each other about their schedules, using profanity and in front of family and residents. I would venture to guess that the staff in memory care is not trained in working with dementia patients. My dad eloped and was found by a stranger on the side of the road. We were not notified by StoryPoint. They didn't know he was gone until he was brought back. The only reason we found out is because the person who found him called the number we wrote on his airtags. We did not receive the message until the following morning. From a stranger. Not one person from SP called to let us know that he had gotten out of the building. I found a new place for my dad to live and I've never been so relieved. I was waiting to submit this review so he didn't receive any blowback. StoryPoint prospect has somehow kept my dad alive for the past year or so, but that's about it. I can't wait to move him and will tell anyone listening to not send your loved one to this community.

Great, clean facility! My relative has lived in the assisted living section for over a year and feels safe and comfortable. The 1 bedroom floor plan are very spacious and easy to move around a walker. The staff are friendly and willing to help.

Having to move a loved one into assisted living is never easy, and it is by no means the end of all responsibility for the family in terms of their continued care and engagement of their family resident. Knowing this, I continue to be a very present and active part of mom’s life. Overall we are satisfied with her experience to date. It is not easy, but StoryPoint has been a helpful partner to me in making this work.

If you value your loved one’s well being at all, do not send them to Story Point. To be clear, this is a gorgeous facility, and Deb has a wonderful sales pitch that makes it sound like your loved one will be well cared for, stimulated with activities, and most of all safe. We first moved my grandmother in back in February. The issues started after a couple weeks, with Eduardo on second shift saying she required too much attention. She was working with PT and OT on safely walking and getting up and down herself. We made a few complaints about her not getting bathed regularly, and then after a few more weeks were told we either needed to start paying 2K more a month or move her to their new memory care unit. Another sales job by Deb, we were told there was a 4-1 patient/aide ratio, the staff was trained to assist her better, and they would make sure she participated in more activities to keep her mind sharp. Shortly after moving her to memory care, PT didn’t want to treat her anymore because she “wasn’t retaining what they taught her”. This, coupled with our further complaints that her basic hygiene wasn’t being taken care of, the facility recommended we call in hospice. Hospice denied her because she was too healthy for their services. At this point, Story Point discharged her from all therapies in an effort to get Medicare to cover hospice services, so hospice could take care of her hygiene needs. For four weeks, she received no therapies, which did cause her to deteriorate enough that hospice ended up accepting her. Shortly after this, the director of the facility called and said we needed to look for somewhere else for her to stay. We finally got her out of the facility, so I feel comfortable leaving this review. My grandma was mishandled by aides who didn’t know how to appropriately transfer her. She was left in bed on a routine basis in soiled sheets, and upon getting up did not have her bathroom needs attended to. I’ve watched aides grab her by the hands and pull up this 91 year old woman with all their body weight. I’ve watched them give her a sponge bath on the toilet instead of taking her to the shower. We’ve asked for aides to help her to the bathroom and been told no. We’ve pulled the emergency cord for help in the bathroom and no one ever came. I, personally, have spent 6-7 hour stretches with her as a means of monitoring her care, and no aides have ever come to check on her. She’s not taken to activities and is routinely left in a transport chair in her room alone for hours on end. She deteriorated mentally and physically during her time at this facility. I cannot stress enough how apathetic the aides are toward the well being of their residents. I’ve worked retail jobs in high school that required more training than it takes to be a glorified babysitter at this facility. These people are not to be trusted and if this review saves one person from going through the same thing my grandma and family have been through, I will have made some good out of this horrendous situation.

Our experience with Exceptional Senior Living has been good. My father's room is very nice. They're very helpful, and it's a very nice place. They help him with bathing and activities. We've had no problems. He likes the food.
