My experience with Silvercrest at College View has been very good. My sister has adapted really well and she really likes it. The staff is very kind, considerate, knowledgeable, and very helpful. The facility is very nice. She is very happy with the food. They go on field trips. She just went last week to a dinner theater, and every Friday night, they have a happy hour where they all get together. She really likes that. We looked at a lot of other places and they were the most reasonably priced. It's a brand-new facility, so it's really nice.

Many staff member are personable but management doesn't provide the services stated or show any interest or ability to meet the inimum standard stated or empting trash, doing laundry, correct medication dispersal (found a pill on the carpet and daily doses left in the apartment). Despite going over the issues with management for months they are unable or unwilling to provide the services stated. The emergency pendant didn't work for 5 days and I had to sit over there to finally get a working pendant put on. Was much better before, the problems are growing and there isn't any evidence that management wants to address the issues in any way.

I had high hopes for this community when I moved here. I do enjoy a number of good friends here. Aside from the inevitable number of increasing repairs needed for an aging building, the apartments are nice (except for the noise of the close roads and a QuickTrip). However, we are being asked for yet another large rent increase of 8%, that after last year's 8.5% increase. The residents have virtually no say in management decisions. They dictate and we follow, period. Silvercrest seems to be a cash-cow for a group of people who do not respect or care about the input we give them. At this point, the value received for the services rendered is just not here.

I have been an IL for almost 5 years. Both the Silvercrest facility and its management have been deteriorating, especially lately. However, I do like my apartment, the location, and the underground parking. I also like the residents here and do feel I can count some as close friends. But management continues to fail us, notably with regards to the kitchen/food. For a pricey facility, the food is generally mediocre - most high school cafeterias would likely do better. We have a very high turnover rate of servers, and often the the other staff/cooks must bring out our meals. This has led to waits of up to one hour for food to arrive after ordering. Silvercrest also has a haphazard food ordering process that leads to the absence of numerous items, like table butter, Diet Coke etc. We no longer have tablecloths, and the reusable plastic placemats we do have are unsanitary. Finally, our common-area lounge floor is both dirty and extremely sticky. This has been the topic of many council meetings over perhaps a year (or more), and nothing has been done. Council meetings about making real fixes or changes are just so much talk, no action.

When I arrived at Silvercrest, it seemed that management was doing a good job. Increasingly, that is not the case. We no longer have a notary here for our papers. Our IL lounge gets used a lot, but its cork floor was inadvertently treated with Mop-and-Glo a long time ago. Now all the chairs stick firmly to it - it is a mighty struggle for this 90+ year old! I enjoy my room and have met many wonderful people I consider good friends. The most important activity of each day is our mealtime gatherings. This is where the trouble starts. We are chronically short of wait staff and have awful turnover. Management appears not to pay enough, so a large part of the staff is 16-17 yrs. old. We may come down for lunch at 11:30 AM, only to wait until 12 PM or later to be served. With sometimes only two waiters, the wait can be longer. After the recent large rent increase, one would think management could pay enough to keep more wait staff. The kitchen has supply problems as well. When the “truck” comes, items like butter, coffee, ranch dressing (to mention just a few) may be missing. There appears to be a chronic problem with ordering items for the kitchen.

As a current IL resident , I wish I could write a more positive review. However, the management of Silvercrest has become much less effective over time. This is particularly true with the kitchen. Food is mediocre at best and high in fat and carbs. We lack sufficient wait staff. After the last 7.5% rent increase (~$700,000 to Silvercrest), one would hope some funds could have improved our dining experience.

I liked Silvercrest at College View Retirement Community. I liked the environment. I like the friendliness of the people passing by. I liked the apartments that I saw. I passed by the dining room, and the residents were eating. I saw people on the treadmill. As far as activity, I just saw people passing by in the hall. They have an exercise room with equipment. The dining area looked good and smelled good. I told them what I was interested in, and we went to a studio apartment, and then we went to a larger one-bedroom. I liked the fact that they had a balcony. The outdoors had flowers and things. It was a nice entrance.

Silvercrest at College View Retirement Community was very nice. The location was very good. You could almost walk to shopping areas and everything. The buildings were very new and modern. The apartments were new and very nice. All the furnishings were very modern looking. And it seemed like the independent people there were very active. The staff who gave me the tour was very nice. The cleanliness of the place was top-notch.

We toured Silvercrest at College View Retirement Community for my parents, and our overall experience was excellent. The staff that walked us through was phenomenal. They were very helpful and very proficient in explaining everything. The apartments were extremely nice and very well laid down. The interior of the apartments was very warm and welcoming. The facility was very clean and up to date. They have a lot of amenities that I wasn't expecting. They have their own fitness center, a pool table, a baby grand piano, and a theater that's really nice.

Silvercrest is a beautiful community that specializes in Assisted living and memory care. They have a wonderful nursing team with strong nursing management. The two head nurses always have time to answer questions. The care staff is very attentive and knowledgable. The campus has a beautiful fish tank that sets their memory care neighborhood apart from others. The memory care residents appear to be very comfortable in their environment and seem to have lots of fun cruising the town. Definately a good experience

Silvercrest at College View is ideal, lovely, and perfect. It’s really good but right on the edge budget-wise. The rooms were excellent, and the place has a fresh and brand new appearance and atmosphere. The parking and accommodations are going to be great, and the management is great.
