"I am at StoryPoint Chesterfield. The single thing that I like best about the community is the people. It's a good group of residents and superb care staff. The people who work here are very competent. I am in a one-bedroom, one-bathroom apartment. I have a fully functional kitchen, bedroom, and a nice-sized living room. I'm on the first floor, so I have a patio. It's a very nice facility. It's only nine years old. I've been to several other senior living facilities. In my opinion, this is the best activities department in existence. There are three gals in the department and they run themselves ragged making sure that virtually every minute of the afternoons and some evenings, they have something for us to do. If you can't find something to do here, something's wrong with you. It goes from bingo to Abraham Lincoln impersonators, and we have happy hours. We have a library. It has three computers in it, and they have tables that are reserved for the gals that like to put together jigsaw puzzles. We have a physical therapy room with some exercise equipment, but it is completely staffed with PT and OT people. We have a courtyard. We have what we call the extended living kitchen. There are groups of ladies who love to cook or bake and they have access to very modern ovens and counterspace. We have a central area with a fireplace and a grand piano, and we are fortunate enough to have a resident who is an excellent pianist. She plays just about every evening after dinner for people, and it's crowded. I love to go down and listen, and sometimes she'll make up some song sheets, so that people can sing along to some of the music. The care staff is very caring and very competent. I also would like to send out some kudos to the maintenance and to the housekeeping staff. I defy you to find a cobweb or a piece of dirt anywhere in public areas in this building. It's beautifully painted, it's maintained, and it is home. They really try when it comes to food, but it's institutional cooking. It's maintained beautifully inside and out."
