From the director all the way through to every employee that works there, residents are treated like family/friends . The food is so very good, with a variety of meals plus a light menu. Transportation is provided during the week for personal needs and a variety of activities. My parents were residents and I had such a peace of mind . I highly recommend "

"I visited Campus Commons Senior Community with my mother, she likes it a lot. The place was very nice, the dining area was nice, the recreational activities and plans were nice. The people were very, very friendly, both residents and staff. And she liked the layout for the various apartment with the accessible bath bathtub, and accessible showers was a big deal. The facility was bright with flowers. We looked around the dining area and heard about the menu, but didn't sample the menu. There was a dog run area to be off the leash in a big fenced yard area. So that was nice, it was refreshingly very pet-friendly."

"My former husband moved into Carlton Senior Living Sacramento. I've been there several times, and several hours each time when I do visit. I'm just impressed with its cleanliness, and with the staff in particular. It's not a new facility, it was built in 1985, but it has the amenities that we thought were important for him. It's clean and doesn't smell. Any nursing home type or assisted living place will occasionally have that, but they don't last longer. They're cleaned up. The staff is so extremely well trained. They speak to him by name and that happened like immediately when he moved in. Somehow every single staff member knew his name almost immediately, and always calls him by name. They're friendly. The response when he has a need, like he has a Foley catheter, it has to be emptied. He has a call button and they come quickly. Every person is polite. Every person has a very pleasant, caring persona. He likes the food and the variety of food. He has nothing negative to say about it. His daughter and I and her husband picked it out, and he says, you found me a good place, and that says a lot. He's happy. He feels like he's in a good place. So far he's not chosen to get into any activities. However, I see lots of activities, and the residents seem to be very busy. They're very active. It's obvious you can be just as active as you care to be or don't care to be."

"Atria El Camino Gardens was very nice, but it was also was very expensive. It was absolutely beautiful. We did not go into the cafeteria or the dining room. They had a restaurant, also. We went to a one-bedroom apartment. It had just been moved out of, and had not been cleaned yet, and yet it was gorgeous. It was in excellent condition. I would love to live there. The staff was very nice and very courteous."

"I toured Summerset Senior Living - Rancho Cordova. The grounds were almost smaller than other places. They were still very nice. Everything was very clean and very organized. They did have a lot of activities, which was nice. I thought the rooms were small as far as space for two people, but they were still very clean, very nice, and everything was current and modern. Jennifer was great. She was very professional, had great advice, covered all the bases very well, and was very accommodating, even when I had to call her and ask questions, she was excellent. I saw the dining area, but I wasn't in a position to stay there and sample the food. I saw staff there and I interacted with some staff. They seemed to be very attentive, caring, and friendly. Everything was maintained well. They had nice extra features whether it be a a sports bar area, a workout room, or things of that nature."

"I toured The Landing at Carmichael. It was beautiful. It didn't look like a place for old people. It was just very well kept up. It didn't have a bad smell. It had elevators. I like the hallways to the rooms where you could put your little mat on your front door, something for the holidays. You can personalize it, and that was nice. I don't think there were stoves in there. It was just like a little mini fridge and a microwave where you could make microwave meals and heat stuff and stuff like that. But the specific room that I saw, I wasn't happy with it because it was so little, and I wanted a counter and a cabinet type of thing, just like a mini kitchenette, a very small thing, but something where I could still make real meals. The staff was very nice."

"I did a tour of Eskaton Village Carmichael. I like the financial arrangement, and I thought the grounds were more appropriate. They just offered everything for a single price. They have a gym, a swimming pool, a putting green, and a large park right adjacent to the facility. I did not try the food, but I noticed that for dinners, they have a choice of three entrees. They also have a grab-and-go area. That's very convenient. I saw the food, and it looked excellent. The only staffer I talked to was the person who was the sales agent, and he was very good and very informative. One thing I liked about them particularly was that, at some point in time I'm going to probably need to go from independent living to assisted care. They have that right there, and they also have memory care, which I don't think I may never need, but it was nice to know it’s there."

"I like that Atria Carmichael Oaks is centrally located and it's nice. They have good activities. They have WIFI in the rooms and I liked that they have a nice floor plan with a balcony. I enjoyed the place. The people were very nice and caring. I ate there and I had spaghetti meatballs for lunch and garlic breadsticks. It was pretty basic, but it was very good. It's a dated facility, but it's clean and the structure was well-built. The room sizes were nothing special. It was a square room, just like looking in a hotel room or something."

"My cousin is moving into Winding Commons. The adult living there would seem to suit our needs. The people are very nice. The floor plans were the big push. It also is close to her doctor in Mercy San Juan. So that was another big draw. It was within our price range, so this worked out well. I've only met about three of the staff. Hillary was just wonderful and so is Christine. We saw a lot of the menus. We were able to see some of the residents, too, and they were very thrilled with the food. It's close to a market so they can buy food. If she wanted to buy food and cook her own in her kitchenette that was an option. The square footage of the room made sense. She had ample square space for her living room and her bedroom, plus a patio. It's also on the first floor. My cousin has a dog, so that was important. We were able to go to an end unit, which was another plus. She can go out and take the dog out through the exit which was just right on the end of the unit, which is kind of nice. They have a monthly calendar of all the activities. You could pick and choose whatever you wanted to do or nothing. So that's kind of nice. They could take them back and forth to the store or over to their appointments, dentists, and physicians. And that was another big draw, too. All she had to do was to sign up. They had a nice bit of a theater there, a library, and a big computer room with several computers in there. The washer and dryer units were close, just right down the hall in each area. They also had a maid that came in twice a week if you wanted them to do laundry for your bedding, towels, and the heavy stuff. So that was another nice feature."

"My sister and brother-in-law moved into Cogir of Stock Ranch Senior Living. They seem to be happy enough with the food. They have very nice happy hours twice a week, and then another show, usually around three entertainment shows a week. We looked at a lot of places, and this had very good ratings, and it was very, very nice. The place is kept very clean. Everybody is very nice, so no complaints. The staff is very good. They're all very friendly and helpful. The dining area is beautiful and very clean."

"We toured Rose Arbor Village for my mother. It's about a mile from our house. So, the location was perfect for us as opposed to the other places we saw which were eight and 13 miles away from us. It isn't a huge drive but in an emergency, it's a long trip. The place is beautiful. It has a beautiful outdoor area for the patients. They have a center for arts and crafts, an area for movies, and an area with a piano for the patients to get involved in singing and playing if any of them play. So it was very nice. The single bedroom was a bedroom with a separate area for the bedroom and the dining table. It also has a refrigerator in the bedroom. The area was very nice. There are tons of activities, especially during the holidays. They've got all kinds of things for them for Thanksgiving and Christmas, and sing-alongs. They had a crafts fair just recently. The staff is very helpful, too."

"My friend is a resident of Carlton Senior Living Davis. It's very nice and very well-kept. I believe she is well cared for. She had a little dog for a while who has died now, but they helped her take care of her little dog. She said they have a nice Christmas tree up now to see. The first time I was there, we had lunch with her, and it was very good food, very nice to have the food just served to us. Her personal space is quite small. She went from a large home, but she seems to be doing fine. The staff is very friendly and welcoming."
