I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mom has moved into Golden Pond Retirement Community. She has only been there for two days. Overall, things have been very good. Every member of the staff that I met was very welcoming and very nice. They were willing to answer questions and patient with all the questions. They were all very nice. My mom is in a 1-bedroom apartment, and it is a little outdated, but very spacious. It is a good size. It has a spacious front room, and the kitchen has a lot of storage. I think they have a great menu with a lot of really good and healthy food. We have their calendar of events, and they have a lot of variety of entertainment and artwork. She is very comfortable there. They are very attentive to her needs and very quick to respond if she needs anything.

I visited this facility

We went to Golden Pond, it's close to where my friend lives, and she enjoyed that one tremendously, and liked it. It has a lot of great features that would help her, and it's not multistory so she would be comfortable. She had people there that she could already talk to because she talked Japanese a lot of the time. It's very clean, very well attended. It's got everything they need right there. They don't have to go far for anything, as far as a salon, coffee house, assistance with the people, and the nurses. They have cars that will take them to their appointments if they need to go out. They had quite a lot of features that we liked on it. She's a painter, she likes to paint. They had classes for painting, which she loved. They had a movie theater, they had a library, so she was thrilled with all of that. She liked it a lot. The staff was very attentive and very informational and they took us where we needed to go or where we asked that we could see the facilities and what they had. They were very attentive to everything.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My parents are in Golden Pond. They have a high turnover of people, some people are not very professional, a lot of them are very helpful, but there's a handful that are not. The apartment is good, it's a two-bedroom with a kitchen, one bath, and a little patio. They have a walking area, and they have activities when it's not COVID. They don't care for the food.

I visited this facility

We went to Golden Pond. It was dark. The residents were there, but they seemed quiet, and the staff was very young. The person that was supposed to meet us didn't show up, and called us two weeks later. It's a really long walk from the room to the dining room. It's like two buildings that have been put together, and there was no pond. We looked at one apartment and it was really dark. There was not a lot of light and it was kind of bleak. The whole place was bleak. The dining room was like in a dormitory, but it was fine. There were some boy scouts meeting there, but that's all we saw.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother moved into Golden Pond 2 weeks ago. I like it, it’s nice, but she seems to be having issues. I think overall it’s a nice place. They seem to be doing their job. However, they don’t have activities for her age and abilities, and that’s a little disappointing. The rooms are bigger, and she has 1-bedroom apartment. I would recommend them, but they need to check the needs of the person they put there.

Other

Golden Pond has been a great neighbor here in the Rosemont community. It has hosted several of our community events and its residents have volunteered help on a number of community projects, giving them an active way to connect with those around them. GP recently played host to a special dinner we provided for our Neighborhood Watch leaders and the staff went out of their way to be sure everyone was treated like heroes. We greatly appreciate all that they do and having them part of our Rosemont community. Rosemont Community Association

I am/was a resident of this facility

Everybody at Golden Pond is friendly, and it's close to the VA clinic where my husband goes to a lot. Everything is excellent, so far. We liked it and chose it because it was convenient. We have chair exercises, card games, bingo, and a TV room where we watch movies. It is a residential neighborhood and located on a quiet street.

I visited this facility

We had a very good experience at Golden Pond. The facility is clean and well-kept. I was looking at a 2-bedroom apartment; it is of good size -- about 800sq. ft for two bedrooms, a living area, and a bath. The residents seemed very happy, and they said that the food was good. The staff and the occupants were very friendly and seemed very well pleased with the community. They also have access to mobile services to go to the doctors and grocery shopping.

I visited this facility

I was able to visit Golden Pond. It was a good facility but a little bit pricier. The reason why we did not go with that was because you could have alcohol anytime and that’s something that my parent could not be around. The staff was great. My experience was great. It offered studio to two-bedroom apartments with a whole kitchen in each room. I did not see activities, but I saw the calendar, which had card games, visitors, and visiting dogs.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

A person from Caring.com told me about Golden Pond. It's near me. We moved my mom in there last July. Since she has moved into Golden Pond, it's like she's 10 years younger. She's happy there. She's socializing with everybody and she just loves it there. It's like she's come back. She was depressed at home and she did have in-home care provided but it's not the same. The staff at Golden Pond is excellent. They're the best. They take really good care of my mom. They give her her medication. They have transportation so they could go to the doctor, to the stores, etc. Mom's in assisted living but she still has her own apartment, which is a beautiful apartment. She doesn't cook. They have meals provided for them. They have excellent food. Mom loves her meals. I've also eaten there a few times. For activities, their activity director is terrific. She's positive. The whole staff is positive. They always have a lot of activities for mom in there. They have great entertainment. The people there are very happy. I just love Golden Pond.

I visited this facility

The Golden pond facilities were fine but the grounds were limited. It's all too close to the street from what I saw. I didn't see where you can go outside and not be exposed to the street. The staff was very friendly and helpful, they still send me a monthly newsletter. I didn't sample the food but it did look good. I have seen some of the residents went to the grocery stores where I live.
