"I am looking at facilities around the neighborhood of carmichael to bring my great-aunt closer to me. The facility is cleaner and more organized than other facilities that i have toured. their staff seem more generous towords the residents compared to others. It is located in a good neighborhood, off of the busy streets. I know the staff is knowledgable because a friend of mine previously tought there for many years and trained a lot of the staff. There really is not a lot of places to take the resident except in the front of the building, though it is clean, a nice garden area in the front would be nice. The rooms are a little small but enough for the resident. this is one facility that i am seriouly inquiring about because the pros definatly outway the cons. "

"My husband was a resident of Whitney Oaks Care Center. The place was clean, and I had a hard time getting feedback on his care because they're busy but I am fine with the actual care. The food was doable for his condition and it wasn't bad. I would have liked more regular briefings since I was there every day. They did a good job. The staff was friendly and helpful. They have cable TV. We've been in one room before and it's very cramped, but his room was more doable, more reasonable. Even though it was a shared room, the size was better. They have a garden, court, and patio. They have people come in and do things for nails."

"Give an accurate review of the care my mom received . After a surgery my mother had to be in a skilled nursing facility. I chose with the direction of the nurse from her assisted living facility to have her stay at Mountain Manor. The staff was supportive and professional. They worked hard to make sure she recovered. The nurse kept me informed about her progress and if there was a problem I was contacted immediately. I am grateful for the care she received. One note, the food was uninviting. Vegetables were soggy and over cooked. It was not served in a way to increase the appetite. This is one area that could use improvement "

"My mom started in rehab at Windsor El Camino Care Center because she was getting out of the hospital. However, my doctor said I needed to take care of myself and not be taking care of anyone, so she went from rehab to permanent resident there. It looked nice. The nursing staff was wonderful; however, the CNAs that we had to deal with were very indifferent and lazy. It took them three weeks to change my mom from the rehab area to the permanent area. When my mom was in Area 6, her food was cold. When she was in Area 1, her food was warm. The nursing staff in both areas were good. The CNAs in Area 1 were good. There were three residents in a room. There was not enough room and there was older furniture. We had a bad experience. When it comes to rehab, they're good. When it comes to permanent, they're not. My mom didn't do activities, but they had an activity room and an exercise room. They're maybe understaffed and underpaid. However, they didn't understand what we were trying to convey to them because English was their second language, and that was a problem. If you're doing board and care or you're doing skilled nursing or whatever, you need to understand the English language. I understand it's difficult, but it makes it that much harder and that much more frustrating and difficult for the clients. You have to explain and explain because they don't understand what you're trying to say. "

"My husband has been to Mission Carmichael HealthCare Center. He got physical therapy there, assistance in showering, and was being changed. Everybody was nice. I have no complaints about them. They're just not too clean, and then my husband had problems with one of the persons that was taking care of him. When he would buzz them to come and see him or do something for him, the guy would just keep walking by and wouldn't go into the room to see what he needed. So, he made a complaint to the manager about that. He was in a shared room. My husband said that their food wasn't very good. I would take food of my own to feed him there. Their staff needs to be more concerned about the resident that's there and not ignore a person that needs help. I wouldn't want to be in a facility where if I'm calling for help, they don't come in about two hours or an hour later. They should be there to take care of the residents, not just walk by or give them any hassle or whatever."

"My husband was in Sacramento Post-Acute. I was not thrilled with them. The physical therapist and occupational therapist were very good, and the nursing staff was just excellent, but for some reason the whole place was not very well coordinated. The doctor just kind of meandered around, and nobody ever really figured out what was going on with my husband's condition. The staff was great, they really tried hard, but his physical condition was such that nobody ever really got him figured out. They kept trying, but he was not able to do what they needed him to do. The room was fine. He was in a room with a veteran, there was plenty of room, it was a four bed room with a half wall in between. They kept everything nice and clean, the hands-on staff was very good, they're always good and communicative, but had a hard time getting hold of the doctor. You walked in, it did not smell bad, and it was obviously very clean."

"My mother is at Casa Coloma Health Care Center. She was put in there because she had an abscess on her left side. It was for them to heal that wound. I like the facility very much that's why I sent her back there. She was there five years ago when she broke her hip, and they had wonderful rehabilitation. The staff is friendly and nice. They bring her meals on time and care for her. I don't have really anything bad to say about Casa Coloma. Overall, I think they do a good job. I've seen the meals, but I haven't eaten anything. They bring my mother her meals to her bed, and the food looked very nice and well-rounded. They have a special diet for her needs and what she likes. The rooms are all a good size. You don't feel like you don't have enough room and there are two beds, with the pull-across drape for privacy. They have a closet and a dresser for your belongings. They have a nightstand there with drawers, a room for a wheelchair, and another chair. They're a comfortable-sized room. My mother hasn't used it this time, but when she was there five years ago, they have an area where she would go for physical therapy. They have a long thing you can use with steps to work on and other things. It's a nice room where you can do rehab. In the hallway lobby, there's a setup for hot coffee, hot water, hot chocolate, straws, and things, that makes it a little extra nice if you want to go grab something for yourself or for who's in there. The staff is good. Right now, Medicare is paying."

"My knowledge of Arden comes from close involvement, including volunteering, and other functions over the last 20 years. Arden Rehab. and HealthCare Center, a Skilled Nursing Center with a 150 plus beds, is located in Sacramento. It is located off I-80, 20 minutes northeast of downtown between Alta Arden Expressway and Watt Avenue, just 5 minutes from Arden Mall. It is near movies, stores, and eateries. It is conveniently close to Kaiser Hospital, and 15 minutes away from two downtown area Sutter Hospitals. Many medical offices are sprinkled throughout the neighboring area. Arden has a veteran, quality, caring staff. The staff exudes a kindness and patience with the residents. They employ RN's, LVN's, and CNA's so staffing to provide care is rarely an issue. I see a lot of teamwork going on. They have in-house training for care givers. A complete rehabilitation team focuses at returning residents to their home settings or a lower level of care. Arden's activity program is focused on the individual needs of each resident. Music, sing-a-longs, exercise, and outside entertainment fill their days. A registered dietician assures all meals are relatively tasty, meeting all medically prescribed restrictions. Residents I spoke to, confirm the food is "yummy." They have specialized dining areas based on resident need. Arden has a fairly even mix of residents with dementia, and the higher functioning clients. I like the fact that they have several volunteer groups coming in. The also have non-denominational church services. While management seems a bit aloof, the regular care giving staffs are quite friendly. Arden gets high marks for cleanliness, odor is minimal, and when noted quickly taken care of. Some rooms face out to patio; some even have sliding glass doors. While the rooms are bright, with ample space for folded and hung clothing, it would be nice if the rooms were a bit larger. When there are two or more to a room, one finds things a little grounded, making family time less private. The facility is spread out with three different wings or stations. There is a lovely solarium where most activities take place. It is especially gorgeous when decorated during the holidays. Several outdoor patios, including one massive one are adjacent to resident rooms. The larger patio is excellent for summer BBQ's and Luaus Overall, the mood of Arden is of comfort, and friendliness. Because of its size, the use of the intercom system, and the more regimented way of operation, the institutional part bothers me a bit. Still as far as meeting the standards for a nursing home it's a cut above. I rank it a 4 out of 5. "

"My father-in-law stayed at ManorCare Health Services-Citrus Heights. He got very good care there, and we visited him often before he passed. This was a convalescent, before-you-die kind of care. For everything that they had to do for their people, I would give it four stars, because they had a lot of hard work in there. It smelled pretty good. It didn't smell like a bunch of urine or anything. At first, he was in the nursing home care, but then his memory got too bad, so they put him in the memory care in the same location, and they were very good. They had good security. They did the very best that they could for their patients. He was always clean, and he never smelled bad ever. The staff was good."

"My mom is going to move into Gramercy Court. She'll be in assisted living. The staff members who assisted me were very helpful. This place is more her level. It's not quite as elaborate as some of the places that we went to, but it's perfect for her. The place is really clean. She's going to have a room by herself, but we're looking to have her be in a shared room. It's really clean and it seems really efficient. We talked to some of the residents, and they seem really happy. We were impressed. The dining area was clean. We weren't there at meal time, but there was a couple of people sitting in there at the tables. One person was reading and the other one was doing a puzzle or something. We talked to the administrator and the assistant administrator, and they were really nice. They were willing to work with us."

"My mother stayed in Woodside Healthcare Center for skilled nursing and rehab. I liked best that there's a nice area to sit outside with big trees and a garden; the least would be the shared room. The staff did the bare minimum. The food was healthy but bland. The structure is old, small, hospital-like, and I can't stand fluorescent lighting. It's old, it's not updated. The room was tiny. They had an exercise class but hardly ever got her to go. They didn't want her walking, but they wouldn't get her with a wheelchair to go. That was canceled a lot. So I really wouldn't call it physical therapy at all, even though they said it was. They did have a resident's talk like a group chat, which she enjoyed. She had her own TV, but she didn't know how to use it and they wouldn't come help her every day, even though I asked them to over and over. The staff was kind of rude. They acted like I was putting them out when I would call and ask them to help my mom with things because she would call me rather than ask them She's shy. They also didn't answer the phone a lot and it didn't go to voicemail. So the phone would ring and ring, and no one would pick up. The social worker was really rude to me. She shamed me because I hadn't been to see my mom yet, but I was extremely busy and on the phone with her several times daily. She acted like I was despicable for not getting there yet, and it was an hour away from me too. They did not help with placement at all. They gave me two names of places that were awful. They were not helpful."

"They didn't communicate well amongst themselves and they did not provide the kind of care that we needed for our patient although their caregivers were friendly. The most skilled caregivers were the speech pathologists, but again it was not enough to deal with. They had a general idea on what to do for general patients which is physical therapy, but what we needed is someone who would deal with memory, cognitive, and behavioral problems. "

"I read all the other reviews and my sister has been at Windsor since June 2013. I am there twice a week to see her. I always see the staff interacting with the residents. The only time they don't is if there is an emergency. It is an older facility so it isn't shiny and new. There aren't TV's in the rooms because most of the residents only are in their rooms to sleep or to get changed. They do have tv in one of the dining rooms that is always on and music in another the main activities is were they have the intertainers that come, games and movies. They are provided snacks and drinks through out the day. My sister gets very good care there. "

"My husband was at the rehab facility of Advanced Health Care of Sacramento for a while, and after that, Medicare said they had exhausted everything, so we had no choice but to go home. It was very nice and clean. The services were also fine, but they all followed Medicare guidelines, so it's based on it. Their staff members were wonderful. They were very helpful. They have different activities for those who want to participate. What I like best about the place is that everything is a private room. I like that because you have more privacy, unlike other homes."
