"My father was in the hospital, and they recommended Roseville Point. Some staff members are good, and some are not good. The food started off good, then went downhill, but the presentation is not bad. It's pretty expensive, but it's a better place than others I've seen out there."

"Taking care of my parent and my in-laws for the last 14 years, I have had the opportunity to utilize several skilled nursing facilities for rehab after a variety of surgeries, including broken hips, heart attacks and related surgeries, knee replacements and other ailments. Most recently my mom needed rehabilitation services after a cardiac incident. She is 92 and suffers from the early stages of dementia. I toured several SNF in the Roseville/Sacramento before selecting Pine Creek Care Center from the list the hospital gave me. I was very grateful when Pine Creek accepted my mom, because I was horrified at some of the places I saw. During my mom's 2-week stay, she was well taken care of. She said the food was "fantastic". The staff were very caring and attentive, even though they were often short-staffed. Their response time to requests for care or to get to the bathroom was great. The place was always clean. The staff always polite and helpful. Her nurse, Liz was amazing. She was patient, responsive, and always helpful when I needed information about my mom's vitals, condition, medication or whatever. The rehab services were vital to my mom's recovery. I often came to visit mom unannounced and she was always up, dressed and sitting in her wheelchair. Her bed was clean and made up most days. The shared bathroom was always clean. Sure we experienced a few bumps in the road while mom was there, but, trust me, they happen in all care facilities. What is important is how the staff respond to the bumps. At Pine Creek I was continually impressed with their responses. Her case manager, Peter, was always available to assist and he even called me at home to follow-up on a couple of issues. Overall, I thought Pine Creek did a great job and I am thankful they were there and a bed available at the time my mom needed a SNF. Thank you everyone at Pine Creek. Your efforts on my mom's behalf are greatly appreciated!"

"Great Facility. The staff work hard and provide non-stop loving care. Clean because janitors are always working hard as well. Have a 96 year old mother-in-law there now for rehab. Highly recommended "

"My daughter-in-law had brain surgery and she did go to Sutter Rehabilitation Institute in Roseville because that's the one her insurance would allow her to go into. Its location was close to home. The staff were skilled, good, and friendly. I was extremely disappointed with the food because the patient was overweight and they were feeding her potato chips and chocolate puddings at her request anytime during the day that she wanted it. "

"I chose ManorCare Health Services-Citrus Heights for Mom because it is a nice, big, and clean facility in a nice location. The staff is exemplary, knowledgeable, and extensive, and they have really good therapists since it's been a full-care occupational therapy and regular physical therapy. It's a very nicely equipped, nicely staffed place. "

"My husband is in Care Meridian. It is recommended to me by the trauma ICU where my husband was. The staff is very fine. The room is the best. They are spacious, absolutely immaculate, and brand new. There is a full range of activities. I certainly will recommend them to others. "

"My father was in this facility for 2 years suffering from diabetes, parkinsons disease and many other health issues. when I would visit him.... the nurses were very nice and helpful and my dad enjoyed them too which hlps me to know they were treating him good. my mother would spend 3 hours a day over there with my dad and she was very happy with the nursed also. all though a place like this is never where you want to be or end up..... I believe my father had a good experience and a comfortable stay ... on april 29 he passed away , my mother and sister still make trips to the hospice care center to give cookies and thank you's...... "My husband was in Sacramento Post-Acute. I was not thrilled with them. The physical therapist and occupational therapist were very good, and the nursing staff was just excellent, but for some reason the whole place was not very well coordinated. The doctor just kind of meandered around, and nobody ever really figured out what was going on with my husband's condition. The staff was great, they really tried hard, but his physical condition was such that nobody ever really got him figured out. They kept trying, but he was not able to do what they needed him to do. The room was fine. He was in a room with a veteran, there was plenty of room, it was a four bed room with a half wall in between. They kept everything nice and clean, the hands-on staff was very good, they're always good and communicative, but had a hard time getting hold of the doctor. You walked in, it did not smell bad, and it was obviously very clean."

"My mother resides in this nursing home for the past 3 years. I also, was there for 9 weeks recovering from a infection I developed from Diabetes. I was very surprised and pleased how this facility is run. It was hard to put my mother in one...very hard having to leave your home behind to live in a nursing home. She suffers from Dementia, and I no longer can care for her. I was so happy to see the cheerful mood of the aids and RN's that care for the residents. the menu's are tailored to the individual and the food is really great! P/T and rehab are available to all and its nice because there are only 100 residents. Even I enjoyed my stay there, I had to learn to walk again after my surgery. The Physical Therapists were awesome. The activities is run by a great gal Gloria who makes sure all who participate get joy every day from making crafts to drawing, music, birthdays and visits from people and school children weekly. I was so impressed, I even wrote an article that appeared in our local paper in Folsom regarding this nursing home. It is always clean and staff will go out of their way to make sure the resident and family are happy. Mom has had to make a big adjustment, but it seems her health has improved and she is content. Thats all that matters to me. "

"I am looking at facilities around the neighborhood of carmichael to bring my great-aunt closer to me. The facility is cleaner and more organized than other facilities that i have toured. their staff seem more generous towords the residents compared to others. It is located in a good neighborhood, off of the busy streets. I know the staff is knowledgable because a friend of mine previously tought there for many years and trained a lot of the staff. There really is not a lot of places to take the resident except in the front of the building, though it is clean, a nice garden area in the front would be nice. The rooms are a little small but enough for the resident. this is one facility that i am seriouly inquiring about because the pros definatly outway the cons. "

"My brother is in Whitney Oaks Care Center, which is a small community. I like the staff, particularly the physical therapy and occupational therapy staff. Theres a variety of CAN levels of care; some are very good, some are average, but a small amount of them are not good, especially the night shift. The food is really good. They have a dietician and individualize each patient. The meal time could be arranged to depend on whether the resident would want to go to the dining room or if hed have it in his room. They have a variety of activities, but they keep repeating themselves and dont individualize activities."

"My husband has been to Mission Carmichael HealthCare Center. He got physical therapy there, assistance in showering, and was being changed. Everybody was nice. I have no complaints about them. They're just not too clean, and then my husband had problems with one of the persons that was taking care of him. When he would buzz them to come and see him or do something for him, the guy would just keep walking by and wouldn't go into the room to see what he needed. So, he made a complaint to the manager about that. He was in a shared room. My husband said that their food wasn't very good. I would take food of my own to feed him there. Their staff needs to be more concerned about the resident that's there and not ignore a person that needs help. I wouldn't want to be in a facility where if I'm calling for help, they don't come in about two hours or an hour later. They should be there to take care of the residents, not just walk by or give them any hassle or whatever."

"I went to rehab at Lincoln Meadows Care Center. My experience was very good. The staff members were very friendly and nice. For the most part, they were quite attentive. They had physical therapy there, which was very good. They had a hairdresser. The place was always very clean and neat. It's an older facility."

"My mom started in rehab at Windsor El Camino Care Center because she was getting out of the hospital. However, my doctor said I needed to take care of myself and not be taking care of anyone, so she went from rehab to permanent resident there. It looked nice. The nursing staff was wonderful; however, the CNAs that we had to deal with were very indifferent and lazy. It took them three weeks to change my mom from the rehab area to the permanent area. When my mom was in Area 6, her food was cold. When she was in Area 1, her food was warm. The nursing staff in both areas were good. The CNAs in Area 1 were good. There were three residents in a room. There was not enough room and there was older furniture. We had a bad experience. When it comes to rehab, they're good. When it comes to permanent, they're not. My mom didn't do activities, but they had an activity room and an exercise room. They're maybe understaffed and underpaid. However, they didn't understand what we were trying to convey to them because English was their second language, and that was a problem. If you're doing board and care or you're doing skilled nursing or whatever, you need to understand the English language. I understand it's difficult, but it makes it that much harder and that much more frustrating and difficult for the clients. You have to explain and explain because they don't understand what you're trying to say. "

"My mother is at Casa Coloma Health Care Center. She was put in there because she had an abscess on her left side. It was for them to heal that wound. I like the facility very much that's why I sent her back there. She was there five years ago when she broke her hip, and they had wonderful rehabilitation. The staff is friendly and nice. They bring her meals on time and care for her. I don't have really anything bad to say about Casa Coloma. Overall, I think they do a good job. I've seen the meals, but I haven't eaten anything. They bring my mother her meals to her bed, and the food looked very nice and well-rounded. They have a special diet for her needs and what she likes. The rooms are all a good size. You don't feel like you don't have enough room and there are two beds, with the pull-across drape for privacy. They have a closet and a dresser for your belongings. They have a nightstand there with drawers, a room for a wheelchair, and another chair. They're a comfortable-sized room. My mother hasn't used it this time, but when she was there five years ago, they have an area where she would go for physical therapy. They have a long thing you can use with steps to work on and other things. It's a nice room where you can do rehab. In the hallway lobby, there's a setup for hot coffee, hot water, hot chocolate, straws, and things, that makes it a little extra nice if you want to go grab something for yourself or for who's in there. The staff is good. Right now, Medicare is paying."
