The Best Nursing Home Communities in Placer County, CA

"I was at Pine Creek Care Center. It is a skilled nursing and rehab. I got all my physical therapy and whatnot there. I was a director of nurses in long-term care for 25 years, so I'm from that end. When I tell you my impression, it is both as a patient who is in a lot of pain and as someone who just knows what the regulations are and things like that. Pine Creek Care Center has very nice wide hallways, and lights are coming in. They have excellent rehab staff. Also the dietitian I would give high marks to as far as talking with you finding out your likes and dislikes, and it showed up on all trays from then on. The nursing staff overall were usually attentive and very courteous. If I have to go back again, I would go there at Pine Creek Care Center. I was just there for rehab. I wasn't able to do much as far as activities because I had a raw fracture, but I did get to church service, and I was down to physical therapy and occupational therapy. They took me to where most called a gym, and it was part of the therapy, but still it was out of the bedroom and out mixing with people and so on. I really thought their menu varied, and meals were also served hot or at the appropriate temperature. While it wasn't a restaurant thing, it was nutritional food, so I can't fault that at all. "

"I was in Lincoln Meadows after I was hospitalized, and my experience was good. It’s a really nice place and each room has a window with a gorgeous view of the nice garden. They have this nice area for rehab. The staff is very kind. There wasn't a single person that I dealt with there that wasn’t fully focused on my needs. They just delighted people. "

"My mom had her rehab at Folsom Care Center. I would recommend them too because it was good. However, they were just temporary and she was there only for two weeks. It was well kept and well-staffed. They were very helpful, nice and kind. They gave physical therapy. They had beauty parlor there. They washed the clothes for them. My mom was not able to get up out of bed. So, she needed total care like assistance in the bathroom, showering and everything. "

"My father-in-law stayed at ManorCare Health Services-Citrus Heights. He got very good care there, and we visited him often before he passed. This was a convalescent, before-you-die kind of care. For everything that they had to do for their people, I would give it four stars, because they had a lot of hard work in there. It smelled pretty good. It didn't smell like a bunch of urine or anything. At first, he was in the nursing home care, but then his memory got too bad, so they put him in the memory care in the same location, and they were very good. They had good security. They did the very best that they could for their patients. He was always clean, and he never smelled bad ever. The staff was good."

"In the time I was here at Eskaton at Manzanita, the entire staff here was great. The physical therapy and occupational therapist teams were awesome and truly promoted a quick and safe recovery after my injury. I would highly recommend this facility."

"My husband was in Sacramento Post-Acute. I was not thrilled with them. The physical therapist and occupational therapist were very good, and the nursing staff was just excellent, but for some reason the whole place was not very well coordinated. The doctor just kind of meandered around, and nobody ever really figured out what was going on with my husband's condition. The staff was great, they really tried hard, but his physical condition was such that nobody ever really got him figured out. They kept trying, but he was not able to do what they needed him to do. The room was fine. He was in a room with a veteran, there was plenty of room, it was a four bed room with a half wall in between. They kept everything nice and clean, the hands-on staff was very good, they're always good and communicative, but had a hard time getting hold of the doctor. You walked in, it did not smell bad, and it was obviously very clean."

"MY husband was resident here for three months post stroke. The entire staff is pleasant and kept me informed. His room was very clean with all the ammenities to fill at home including good food.They were proactive on meeting his medical needs suchbas appointment s and physical therapy. The therapist took the time to train me on his care. So we were able to gradually bring him home. We even had our daughter's birthday party there. They made this life transition a lot easier. "

"College Oak Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is great. Sometimes my husband gets a bit difficult, but they know how to handle him. They have really helped me and have taken a lot off from my hands. The staff is wonderful. My husband's room is great. He has a lot of room to move around in. The dining area is nice, too. They're billing Medi-Cal."

"Auburn Ravine Terrace was an older place, but it was quite nice. The rooms were well-maintained and clean. They had a garden area and they provide transportation for their residents. The staff was great, too."

"I am looking at facilities around the neighborhood of carmichael to bring my great-aunt closer to me. The facility is cleaner and more organized than other facilities that i have toured. their staff seem more generous towords the residents compared to others. It is located in a good neighborhood, off of the busy streets. I know the staff is knowledgable because a friend of mine previously tought there for many years and trained a lot of the staff. There really is not a lot of places to take the resident except in the front of the building, though it is clean, a nice garden area in the front would be nice. The rooms are a little small but enough for the resident. this is one facility that i am seriouly inquiring about because the pros definatly outway the cons. "

"My stepfather is in Auburn Oaks Care Center in their comfort care. He's been there for a while, and they're taking very good care of him. I'm impressed with it. It's clean, well maintained, and very professional. There are two people in a room. It's more of a nursing home situation, but it's well kept. They have very professionally run staff, nurses and PAs, physical therapists, and activities. There's an abundance of things offered to keep him busy."

"Beautiful location and great faculty. I was overwhelmed with this feeling of comfort and calmness upon arrival. I was welcomed by some of the nicest staff I have ever seen and had the pleasure of knowing. They still call and say hi when I see them in town. "

"My husband was a resident of Whitney Oaks Care Center. The place was clean, and I had a hard time getting feedback on his care because they're busy but I am fine with the actual care. The food was doable for his condition and it wasn't bad. I would have liked more regular briefings since I was there every day. They did a good job. The staff was friendly and helpful. They have cable TV. We've been in one room before and it's very cramped, but his room was more doable, more reasonable. Even though it was a shared room, the size was better. They have a garden, court, and patio. They have people come in and do things for nails."
