"My sister is a resident of The Landing at Carmichael. She is pretty much free to do what she wants to do. It's safe, clean and nice. The staff members are very nice. They're good. They do just about anything. They shuttle people to appointments and take them shopping, and they have a good activity program. My sister likes it. They will take my sister's food to her room if she doesn't feel like going to the dining room. However, the lady in charge of the kitchen snapped at my sister for using the juice bar. It's not for the people that live there, it's for the people that work there. But my sister wanted some lemonade, and she saw the juice bar, so she went to get it. The manager of the kitchen scolded her badly. My sister didn't know that it wasn't supposed to be for people living there. So my sister wouldn't go in the kitchen for about a week, and she wouldn't go eat there. She ordered some food and then I made some food and took it to her because she was afraid to go to the dining room. I talked to the lady that scolded her and she apologized. She explained to me that those drinks were for staff only. The reason why is a good reason. The lady explained to me that because some people are a little feeble, they might spill something like hot coffee on themselves. They're not steady enough to work the machines, so they don't want them to work the machines. The lady said if my sister asked for lemonade, she would get it for her, and so I told my sister that. With regards to food, they rave about it, but it's not that great. It's consistent. They're very accommodating though about the variety."
