"Oakmont of Carmichael was very nice. It looked good on the outside, and it was nice and clean on the inside. It was elegant. The person who helped me was very knowledgeable and very helpful. He has called back to check on me numerous times. The dining area looked good. It was packed, but the residents seemed to be enjoying themselves. They were nice crowds. They have group activities and they were talking about Christmas. They have a library, a music room, and a nice fireplace where you can sit and read. Everything seemed nice and clean. The cleanliness was good."

"Oakmont of East Sacramento was a nice community, but very expensive. The facility was good. The person who gave the tour was nice and kind. What I liked about it was that the units were a nice size. You can have an apartment size unit in memory care where you walk into a living room and then to your bedroom. The dining room was nice and big, too. The activities were not very cultural. It was geared to more of a honky-tonk type of thing and their activity center was very small, but their kitchen area was big. So, it's like give and take."

"Atria Carmichael Oaks was very nice and they had a nice lunch for us. It was an excellent tour. We saw a 1-bedroom and everything is a good size. The elevators are right nearby, you go down the elevators and there's the big activity room and they were playing bingo in there. If you walk to the right, down the hall is the dining room. Everything was so neat and clean, they have linen napkins, placemats, and the menu has two options for each meal. They also have an extra menu for people who are on a special diet."

"I went to Summerset Senior Living - Rancho Cordova. I liked the size of the rooms and the way they were laid out. If you wanted two people in a room, there were separate bedrooms with a common area in between. The tour guide was very nice. She took me through the whole place. She showed me all the amenities and the main eating room. She was very helpful. The facility was very clean and easy to maneuver. I thought it was very nice. I felt very comfortable when I walked in the front door. There was activity in the foyer, which told me that a lot of visitors come in there. The lady offered me a cup of coffee while I was waiting for the tour guide. I was very impressed with it."

"I toured the Eskaton Gold River. It was beautiful and everything looked clean, and it was very organized. It's a little far from my doctors and where I live, and that's the only downside. The staff looked very organized too. Everyone seemed to be very friendly. I didn't see many people, but they looked the same as people in senior living facilities. They were pleasant, not very active but they were fine."

"Sto. Thomas Guest Home was not so clean and organized. It was a little bit chaotic although the people were charming. I really enjoyed the couple that were running the place, and they seemed to take joy in the residents. The physical environment was not good, but the people were delightful, very caring, and seemed to have a really good relationship with the residents. It looked like they only had 2 residents at the time. They take them out and there was a lot more interaction than just simple caregiving. Whatever the residents want to eat, they will cook them that meal. The rooms would have been too small for my mom. "
