"My mom moved to Gold Quartz Inn Senior Retirement Home. It's clean and neat. It's a single room. They have a church, games, and other things, and she can walk around the facility and talk to people if she wishes. I went for lunch once, and today they had pizza, and I thought it was bland and tasteless."

"This is a residence for mentally challenged men and women. Our son had been there for several years and has improved tremendously over the past few years, It is an excellent home with many activities for the residents to enjoy, especially sports. They also go on at least one trip a year such as Disneyland. The rooms are shared and are very nice. The residents can decorate their area with their own choices. The caregivers are wonderful people who have been in the field of special education for many years and understand the residents extremely well. Unfortunately there are not many homes like this but we were fortunate to find it, We would recommend it to anyone if they have an opening and those are few and far between."

"My mother was at Country Haven for almost 3 years...I was so thankful that when she went on Hospice she was allowed to stay at "home"....The caregivers have always been top notch and I can't give them enough praise for what they do every day...And all the extras like picking up her medications from the drug store and bringing her meals to her room were all included in the monthly rent...Thank You Country Haven!!! "My mom moved into Blissful Garden. What I liked best was, number one, it was very close to me, so I was two miles away. Number two, it's a small community. There are only maybe 40 patients. My mom was broken on the right side completely, arm, leg, and hip. We were looking for more care, someone who could come in and change her, bathe her, and do a Hoyer lift, and they can do all those things. She has a private room. It's lovely. It's small, just enough for a bed, a little table, a chair, and her TV on the wall. The bathroom is down the hall. Nobody has a bathroom in their rooms because a good portion of residents either have dementia or are recuperating from a fall. The food is quite good. My mom raves about it. She says it's great. She's eating much better. There's a little kitchen right here. They can ask for things. If you want mustard on your sandwich, you ask, and they tailor it to you. So, they're very good. The people are extraordinarily caring, nice, and good to my mom, and they come when she rings the button. My mom has not been participating in the puzzles, but they have music, exercise hours, and all kinds of things going on."

"Apple Country Care Home # 2 has six bedrooms and six residents, and we're really happy with it. A nurse and her husband own this facility in a house and own another one in Camino. This place in El Dorado is for residents requiring 24-hour care who cannot do anything for themselves. We really like it because we need to trust the caregivers and consistency. With only six residents, the care providers know their residents quite well, and they've been very good with my mom-in-law. The food is so-so, but it is nutritious and that's what's important. "

"I am well taken care of. The staff is warm and caring. I enjoy the weekly outings. The atmosphere is upbeat and positive. This is my home and I hope to never have to leave."

"New West Haven was not a place I'd want to go. It's for people who need more care than my grandfather. It's like a hall with rooms off of it, with a central area for people to go and hang out. I didn't like that as much. It's much smaller, which may be better for some people, but I didn't like the setup as much as the more independent living place. This is more of an assisted living. The staff seemed nice and everyone looked cared for. If you need that level, that's probably good, although I haven't seen any other assisted living. There was a craft or an activities room. There was a dining area and a cafe area for snacks throughout the day. There were also multiple shared spaces where residents could go hang out. They also had an extra kitchen that if a family wanted to come and cook food, they could use that separate kitchen."

"My mother has been at Gold Country Skilled Nursing for almost eight years. The staff and nurses are excellent. What I like about Gold Country is that they have the apartments, assisted living, and skilled nursing. So a person can be in skilled nursing and go back to either assisted living or the apartment. They are currently rated 5 out of 5 by Medicare. Take a tour and go see for yourself. "

"The staff of Sunshine Glory Care Home are really amazing. They really care for their clients. They provide personalized support. You can feel their love as they do their job. They don't just help you physically but more so spiritually. They know how to encourage & inspire you when you are down. I really love these guys. They are not perfect but they are real people, especially the owner, Merly A. She is an amazing woman. She goes out of her way just to help you. "

"I chose Woodridge Place for my husband because it is clean, small and compact. It is not chaotic like the other large facility where he was at. It is a residential care facility for six people, so it is very homey. Because it is small, he doesn't have to walk very far to go from one place to another. The meals they have for their residents are very good. They are all home-cooked meals. It smells good when you walk in and it is very nice. Their staff is very caring. Their activities are very limited though this is mainly because most of the residents are not participating. My husband for example does not participate as much. They have a piano there that he will play with occasionally. They have puzzles and games in the table but they are not participating. Otherwise, it is a safe and caring place. It is the right place for my husband and I'm very happy he is there. "

"We went to Serrano Manor. It was very positive, we enjoyed it very much, and it was a good location close to where I live. We liked it very much. We were positively accepted by them, it was very good. It's a beautiful home, and I only have positive things to say about it. It had wide hallways. It's a full-service community, and the location is perfect for me, it's four minutes from my house."

"After almost 8 years at Pine Tree Villa, our family continues to be happy with our mother's care. The compassion the staff shows is endless. Her physician is amazed with her health and the ends the staff goes to provide mom with friendship and a healthy lifestyle. "

"My dad has moved into Queen of Hearts of El Dorado Hills. It's new, it's a remodeled home, and it's beautiful. Every room has two entrances, one to a yard and one from the corridor. It's very spacious and clean. They have a lot of high-end amenities. The staff is wonderful. They have one or two for six people, which is great. There's an activities director, too. They have a family get-together in the yard. The yard is spacious with a view, and there are a lot of walking paths for wheelchairs or walkers. About the food, they make whatever you like, so they serve fresh salmon and the people like that."
