I visited the memory care facility. The staff is very on top of getting back to me in a good amount of time, and they asked me questions about whether I have certain papers. They were very attentive to my needs, and they made sure they called me periodically to see how I was doing. I like the fact that the area is clean and quiet. The last time my sister went on vacation, we had to put my dad in a facility for the VA, and it was just horrible. People were screaming everywhere, people cussing and yelling. Here it was very peaceful, so I liked that. What I like the most about the facility is that I live less than a mile away from it, so the convenience of being able to see my dad whenever I wanted to was phenomenal. The rooms are very clean, but I will say that they are also very small. There is not a lot of space, so if you have a family member who has a lot of stuff, you will have to downsize a great deal. I do like the fact that they have rooms available for people who would prefer to be by themselves and not have other members. They have both shared rooms, and they have a room where each person can have their own space. Even though it's a phenomenal place, very convenient, very clean, and has excellent staff, the one thing that they don't have a lot of is, in my opinion, higher-skilled activities for adults who are higher functioning.
