FCHII was especially thoughtful and capable in handling my mom's hospice arrangements up through and including her end of life decisions/situation. I would highly recommend FCHII to anyone looking for a residential care facility. "

"Atria Carmichael Oaks is wonderful. There's nothing wrong here. The only difference is that they raise the rent too much. I think mine was raised 16% last year. I think if there's a stable rent increase, it is 5% or 3%, but some people here got their rent raised 22%. There's an independent side and there is an assisted living side. Now on the independent side, they only raised it 10% because it's the California law that they can't raise it more, but they get their room and their rooms assessed and they're all priced differently. I'm in assisted living and I have a bigger room, so I pay more, but we get the same thing. We get one housekeeping a week and we get free food. They got 10% and I got 16%. It's just too much and I can't afford that every year. They raised my care as well. At the other place I visited, I could get three baths a week for $500, here I get two baths a week for $680, but I love Atria Carmichael Oaks. It is a wonderful place to be. They have nice food and everything's good here. The staff has been wonderful to me. The housekeeping is good. The activities are fabulous. If you can afford it, which there are a lot of people here who can as there are a lot of retired professionals, it's a nice place to be, but I get the same over the other place for quite a bit less."

"Mom loved Summerset a lot. The staff was very friendly, very nice, and very professional. They treated us to lunch, and the food was really nice. They have a chef in the restaurant, and he served our food restaurant style with little garnishes and sauces. It’s very upscale -- but affordable -- and I was impressed. The people seemed to be very nice and very caring. The rooms were modern, and the colors, paint, and carpeting were all done in a very modern style. The floor plans were acceptable and big. "

"The Home is clean. Administrator and spouse live @ the Home. Med management good. They have good knowledge of elder care. Assists w/ Medical needs of client. Neighborhood near Costco, off of Auburn Blvd. We were looking for a place for parent quickly and they did not have a room we were looking for at the time."

"I had an appointment in Angels Assisted Living Inc. and there was nobody there to talk to me. They weren't aware I was coming. Somebody opened the door. Didn't know who I was and just led me from room to room. I don't have much comment about the room."

"We had chosen WellQuest of Granite Bay for my mom. The tour was good. I was very impressed with it. They showed us a unit. We're going to bring in our own furniture though. They're very nicely equipped, but in memory care, they don't have a kitchen. They have a very nice outdoor area. They even take the residents out on walks. They have trails, and they can do exercises in the heated swimming pool. The dining room is amazing, and the food is really good. And, as a participant, you can pay for lunch or dinner and then you can have a meal with your parent. The staff who toured us was great. She was very knowledgeable. There's nothing available right now, so we are on a waiting list for memory care. It's fine though because we don't want to do it till July anyway. It's pretty brand new, so everything is nice. I also like that outside each door, there's a little showcase where the residents can put in their memorabilia, so they can find their room, and in the memory care they always have somebody with them. I think that's pretty nice to have that."

"Our experience with Pine Grove Residential Home Care for the Elderly has been pretty positive, and it's been pretty smooth. I felt like the home is very clean and calm. The owner is a registered nurse for 20 years in Cardiology and Oncology. She is very knowledgeable. The home is setup where you can take your walker into the shower, and then there would be a shower chair. The facility is equipped for accommodating elderly people. It is a care home in a really nice neighborhood, so it is really pretty. I looked up the licensing board, and I've read the last four licensing reports. There was nothing super negative. The corrections were minor. It's a home, so they have six residents there. It's not like these other big corporate assisted living where they invite you for lunch."

"We had a physical tour of Brookdale Roseville. It was not fancy, but I like it. I was very impressed with the director. The private rooms were large. I like the outdoor area; it's a central courtyard so it's visible all the way around. Windows all the way around, and there are a lot of shades. We only met with the director, and I like her very much. She asked a lot of questions about my mom to determine how they could meet her needs."

"The senior community I like next would be the Meadow Oaks of Roseville. The salesperson that showed us around was very good. The nursing there seemed excellent, too. We talked to her, and I'd say she was very good as well. The receptionists were OK. The rooms were small. They did not have as much room. They were like 400 square feet. They're very tiny. They have a nice kitchenette area, though. I'd have to say their kitchenette (the way they have it laid out) is nice, but those rooms needed to be bigger at least for our father. They have a beauty salon. They have an activity room with bingo and everything. It's one great big room, and that was nice. In the center part, where the rooms overlook, they have a little courtyard. It's a smaller facility. For a small facility, I thought it was very nice."
