"We've been to Carlton Senior Living in Sacramento, and I think they're very good. Our contact has been more with Amy, the staff who helped us, and she was a real superstar. She just got everything done right away, no messing around, and she had all the answers. She was very, very good. Everything at Carlton was very nice."

"My tour of Brookdale of Vacaville was really good. The only drawback was that it was a lot more congested in that area. There wasn't a quiet, relaxed feeling about it, and we are trying to find something in a somewhat quaint neighborhood. I like the apartments and the food. They had a nice outdoor courtyard. We had a good lunch, and there was a selection from the menus. They had a lot of different types of activities going on. There were a lot of amenities nearby for shopping and things like that as well."

"The staff at Regency Place was excellent. It's very nice and immaculate. They had a pool and pretty much everything that I would be interested in, but the price was a little high. The food was excellent. The room was nice, but it was a little bit small for me, and there was a kitchen. The dining room was neat and clean. Everybody seemed to be having a good time. I met a couple who were very happy with it."

"We absolutely loved the assisted living community of Golden Pond in Sacramento. We looked at the apartment, all the facilities they have, all the classes they offer, and the food menu, and we just absolutely loved it. We passed by all the ladies and gentlemen doing their activities, and they stopped us and say that it's a great place to live. Another lady said the only problem is that the food is too good, and you can get fat. It just looks good, smells great, and the ladies and gentlemen living there look very happy and engaged in all kinds of activities. The apartment looks really nice with its bathroom and kitchen. The lady who gave the tour was also really nice. They have a very cool pub. It surprised me, to be honest. They have a library, a game room, and an art classroom. They also have a piano that people are playing. The ladies and gentlemen were sitting and enjoying themselves, having a laugh. It gave us a very good feeling, for sure. The apartment we looked at was under renovation, but the kitchen and the bathroom were really nice and shiny. The facility outside of the apartment was really clean, too. There was no smell, which is something that's always concerning. You don't want your mother to go to a place that smells like desperation, so for us, that's very important. It was just a nice place, and you wouldn't think that it's a retirement home unless you see that they're mostly elderly people there. We saw the menu, and it is just extensive, and they do have a lot of healthy choices. There are always salads, which is important. Wine is even included, and I was just so surprised by that. Our mother likes to drink one glass of wine before she goes to bed because it helps her sleep, so this was a good benefit for us."

"My mom has been in WellQuest of Elk Grove for a week now. The community is fairly new. I visited it a few times, but I haven't seen anything that I can say about whether it's good or not. It's a new and quiet facility. So far, the staff is pretty friendly. Her room is pretty spacious. But I don't know if they have done any type of cleaning. I found a lot of dust in the room. I did mention that to the cleanup person there if they can wipe down the dust a little bit. They have a list of activities. They are trying to keep them occupied. But I haven't seen anything big at the time I went there. They're just working on some puzzles. I haven't seen any kind of events or activities. The dining area is pretty clean. It's pretty pricey concerning what they offer there."

"My sister-in-law moved into Camden Springs Gracious Retirement Living. It is a very beautiful and friendly place. It is very well run. The people that work there are all very considerate and helpful. They have all kinds of activities, like painting and exercising. The food is delicious. The facility is very pretty the way they have it decorated. It's very clean and bright. It's top of the line."

"I toured The Landing at Carmichael. It's a beautiful place. It has all the amenities. One thing that stuck out to me the most, if you're loved one is there, they will be taken care of as far as events, staffing, and activities. The staff was friendly and had good energy. The place was very clean. They were pet-friendly of course with certain pounds or whatever, and pet-friendly is nice because older people like it. That's where I want to put my mom if I had the income for it. Eritrea was pretty awesome. She explained everything and answered any questions."

"Bear Hollow Estates Gracious Retirement is a brand-new place. It's just a complete facility; it's got everything. The people working are professionals. The facility itself is very clean."

"Northstar of Rancho Cordova was nice. I did not really care for their patio area. It was just very simple. It did not have a lot of shade. The lady who gave me the tour was very nice. We got to see the rooms. They were very nice as well. The people seemed happy. "

"We toured Truewood by Merrill, Roseville. There wasn't anything that we didn't care for. Julie, who took us around, was so helpful, and just her attitude towards the staff and the residents, I could tell there was a definite concern. She wanted to make them comfortable and meet all their needs as well as ours, and she showed us properties that might work well for them. She also took us on a tour of all the things that were available there. The dining hall was very nice, and the staff who served us were very nice. The food was good too, and it's a beautiful area. The apartments were very nice. She showed us one that had just been renovated. It was spacious. She said that for the one bathroom, there was a glass shower door, and they would change that out to a curtain so my sister-in-law could go in without stepping over a threshold. It was all very nice."
