The Farmstead at Dixon Senior Living is family-owned. They have several other facilities. This one is brand new, and it recently opened. We felt it would be a better place for her because they would go ahead and start her in assisted living, and if they needed to move her into memory care, they also offered that, so that way we wouldn't have to continue to move her. We met the owner and the nursing staff. They had a grand opening and a Super Bowl party. They have a restaurant-type setting with a set menu. If you're not interested in the set menu, they have a secondary menu. The food was very good. And we liked the fact that there were options. They have several activities. The activities change daily, but they also have a movie theater. If you wanted to go watch a movie, you could do that. They have a little snack bar concession in there. They had a library, and they had a little computer section. There was just a wide variety to involve the residents.
