We’re using Partners in Care. The biggest things they offered has been good assessment and good recommendations for what I need to have for my friend. The staffing on all the shifts has been good. So far, all the staff people we received have been excellent. They’re just aides, not nursing care like home assistance. They help with meals. They help clean up in the kitchen, bathroom, and his room. They change his bed, do his laundry, take his medications to him (they don’t give him his medications), and help him with transfers. He’s got to be able to do most of the getting up out of bed and into the wheelchair himself, but they assist him with that on standby.
We’ve got two shifts a day with a different person for each shift. We have four caregivers who come back repeatedly, but we still have a number of new people coming in. The big advantage is that if someone can’t make it, I have to either cover it or find a caregiver; they provide that coverage, which to me is a huge advantage. We’re doing two four-hour shifts, seven days a week.
The pricing is a little bit on the higher end of the range, but it’s been worth it. The fact that I’ve not had to worry about all these things has made it very worthwhile. They keep me up-to-date on the scheduling and all those things.

Christine is fine. She’s been in contact. When I had not been completely satisfied, she fixed the situation. We see her at least once a week. She comes and checks if everything is moving along smoothly. She’s really a nice person.

We offer companionship and help with everyday tasks that have become challenging for an aging person. This may include things like meal preparation, laundry, housekeeping, hygiene and grooming. We also offer services for those with special care situations caused by numerous medical conditions such as Alzheimer's disease and other dementias. Call us to learn more about the specific services we provide.

Custom Care Plan

From the moment you call, we begin considering the specific needs of your loved one. We ask questions during the initial call or meeting to form a basic needs assessment. After discussing your particular situation, we will prepare an initial Custom Care Plan and then work with you to fine tune that Care Plan based on your loved one's specific needs. Once the plan is agreed upon, your local Right at Home team matches the right caregiver to implement the plan.

Caregiver Training and Care Supervision

Every Right at Home caregiver goes through an extensive interview process, including background checks. Once hired, caregivers are trained through Right at Home University to ensure that they're able to deliver the care set out in your loved one's Custom Care Plan. We have caregivers over during the night and they give her showers, wash her hair, and make sure she doesn’t fall. They also check her blood sugar and give her snacks according to what her blood sugar is. They do light houskeeping, like they pick up any soiled diapers and do laundry. The caregivers are really good. We like both of them that come right now. Their scheduling and billing is good. Shelly is the owner and she’s great. She’s really good to communicate with and really helpful.

I LOVE Interim! They have been great for my family. When my father was starting to get ill, we decided we didn’t want to put him in a home. We want to keep him at home and we felt he would do better this way. On the weekends we take care of him but during the week when we’re all working, we have somebody that comes in and helps us.
I absolutely LOVE our caregiver who takes care of our father. She is like part of the family. I trust her beyond my wildest dream when we’re all gone and need to do things. She helps us and I couldn’t ask for anyone better. She washes him, gives him a bath, showers him, makes him breakfast in the morning and lunch in the afternoon. She’s right there to make sure he’s safe when he gets up as he has to walk around and do things and just make sure he is not doing something on his own. But it took us a little while to find the exact one that we love now. We started out slow and we started adding more days. It made it at the beginning difficult but once we’ve established a routine, it’s been fantastic. Now she’s full time with us. I like that it’s consistent. I don’t have four or five different people coming and each time somebody different came, I had to go and be there and make sure everything was okay. Interim is great. They have been God sent.

We’re using Quality In-Home Care Specialists for my mom. The service is OK, but they don’t call me when they’re switching people or when people don’t show up. They have employees that they only pay minimum wage — or $12 an hour — so a lot of the workers don’t do a very good job. The ones that do it because their hearts are in it do better. I used a dozen people from them and I only liked Chantal. I told them that if they take her from me, I’m cancelling. I’ve been using them for a long time. She feeds him, she doesn’t make me cook the food, she doesn’t sit here and take my time, she helps to clean him when he makes a mess, wipes him down, takes care of any sores, and she entertains him and talks with him. She will do the dishes and things if I ask, and helps fill out paperwork that has to do with nursing. They’re easy to get along with and easy to talk to. If you get the right person, it’s worth it.

The owner pads the bill adding 15 minute increments to the actual hours several times a month. The employees might show up or might not. The owner does not even text the client to let you know to make other arrangements for care. I was very very very ill and nonetheless was treated in this manor. I noticed things like my shampoo was more water than shampoo i.e. the employees steal the shampoo or other times and then replace with water so that the bottle will not fill light. This women NEVER calls you back even if you are begging her until she gets around to it. I understand she has several clients and her priority is getting new ones but we are the ones paying her now. One gal damaged my stove. I agreed with the owner to each pay half I have yet to see any reimbursement of her half. BTW 15 minutes of bill padding does not seem like much… but it comes to about $12.00 per incident times 3 to 6 times per week. Currently, she took money she was not authorized to have from my bank account as she has a copy of my CC. Don’t hive her your info. She will just go in and withdraw the amount she feels she has a right to. Bottom line, she got me for a bunch of money but I believe in karma. Anyone who steels from the poor or the unhealthy will go down. I hope everyone reads this and heeds my warning.

Lincoln Home Care Resources
Home care services are only one of the pieces needed for seniors to gracefully age in place. There are many services and programs that are low-cost or free, that enable seniors to enjoy an independent lifestyle in the comfort of their own home, such as help with home modifications, meal delivery services, and more. Below, we’ve compiled a few of the most helpful resources in Lincoln:
Address: 12183 Locksley Lane, Suite 205, Auburn, CA 95602
Phone Number: (530) 878-5718
Seniors First is a nonprofit organization that provides meals at senior cafes in Auburn and Lincoln and runs the Meals on Wheels program in the region. The senior cafes serve a hot, nutritious lunch each day, and seniors are encouraged to socialize and experience a sense of community. There is no charge for the meals but donations are appreciated. Free transport is available to the senior cafes. The Meals on Wheels services delivers one meal a day to homebound seniors who are unable to cook for themselves. Volunteers deliver the meals and provide a social check service for the seniors at the same time. There is a charge for the meals, but no one will be turned away if they cannot afford the fees.
Address: Twelve Bridges Library, 485 Twelve Bridges Drive, Lincoln, CA 95648
Phone Number: (530) 889-9500
The Recreation and Respite Adult Day Program is operated by Senior First. The goal of the program is to provide a change of pace for seniors with physical or cognitive impairments and to give their caregivers respite. Caregivers can use the time to take care of their own needs or join the Caregiver Support group. Volunteers, personal care aides and staff members take care of the seniors from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. four days a week. The seniors partake in a range of activities, including arts and crafts, exercise classes, games and adventures with pets. There is a charge for this activity, but financial aid is available for those who qualify.

My Rides provides free transportation to seniors in the Placer County area. The drivers are all volunteers who offer door-to-door transport to assist seniors who are no longer able to drive themselves. Rides need to be booked at least 14 days in advance to ensure that a driver is available. The volunteer will pick the senior up at home and drive them to their destination. The driver will typically wait at the destination until the senior is finished before driving them home. Transport is provided to nonemergency medical appointments, grocery stores, banking and hair appointments.
