My husband has been to Mission Carmichael HealthCare Center. He got physical therapy there, assistance in showering, and was being changed. Everybody was nice. I have no complaints about them. They're just not too clean, and then my husband had problems with one of the persons that was taking care of him. When he would buzz them to come and see him or do something for him, the guy would just keep walking by and wouldn't go into the room to see what he needed. So, he made a complaint to the manager about that. He was in a shared room. My husband said that their food wasn't very good. I would take food of my own to feed him there. Their staff needs to be more concerned about the resident that's there and not ignore a person that needs help. I wouldn't want to be in a facility where if I'm calling for help, they don't come in about two hours or an hour later. They should be there to take care of the residents, not just walk by or give them any hassle or whatever.

The ONLY positive thing I can say about the facility is that there are some wonderful staff members. Many of the staff, though aren't worth a damn! The worst part is that the workers that truly care and do their jobs aren't able to provide the quality of care that they want to provide, and the patients deserve! There is always a shortage of supplies, meds, linens, towels, wipes, briefs, etc! The food , don't ask! They very seldom abide by the patient's dietary needs! (Ex: vegans get meat, dialysis patients get high phosphorus, high potassium foods and patients with allergies get peanut butter cookies and sandwiches). The ratio of patients to workers...ridiculous more often than not! There are patients attacking other patients AND staff! The turnover times for workers is sometimes a matter of days or months (very seldom years)! Someone needs to do something about the "leadership" at this facility!
Sad and disappointing

Where to start?! Mission Carmichael is disgusting! I've been there when there were trails of urine down the hall. Patients are screaming and crying. I've seen patients without anything on. I've seen what they have served my family member. You can't tell what it is. She was supposed to be on a high protein diet and all she had was carbs! It's heartbreaking! I could never get a hold of the nurse or social worker. They never answered the phone. My sister had so many things stolen! She was told that she would be reimbursed but it never happened! The total was in the hundreds! The food just made her sick. The A/C wasn't working. Their ice machine was seldom working and/or they didn't bring any out! Patients abused staff and other patients on numerous occasions! She was given the incorrect medication on several occasions! I would not recommend that place to ANYONE

Wow, where to start!. The WORST food! You never can figure out what it is! Horrible! The only food that ever received was ice cream! I have had fruit that was moldy, salad that was brown and mushy! I have spoken to everyone here that would listen to no avail. You KNOW its bad when the "homeless" residents who have been on the streets, eating out of garbage cans, can't even eat the food! I understand that with covid, there's a huge staffing problem but... Instead of giving their devoted workers (some That have worked there for decades) , they are using the registry. They are paying triple for registry! How is that cost effective? There are some great workers, but they are outnumbered by the wack jobs and slackers! I KNOW that this facility WAS a really good place years ago and honestly up until the new owners took over. It's snowballing downhill and picking up speed fast! I don't feel very safe anymore and I am the one of the more alert/mobile patients here. I can only imagine how scared the more feeble must be! Another thing is that the meal hours are 8am, noon, and 4pm. The kitchen closes in between meals. There are residents screaming (especially during the evening hours) that they are hungry! It's really sad! There's also an issue with the laundry. If you send something to be washed, kiss it goodbye! Even putting your name on it doesn't do any good! I am missing ALL of my personal clothing brought from home. They have had to move rooms because of covid and we never seem to get all of our stuff back! Not to mention the fact that at least one of the residents steals things from patient's rooms! Mostly food as far as I know but...? The saddest part about this is that there are WORSE places to go to ! ( I have been in one of THOSE! ). I think its time to send a "secret shopper"( for lack of a better term) .

My Aunt was there for less than 3 weeks. She left for the hospital because she was having difficulty breathing. Apparently she had contracted Covid during her stay at this facility. We have been trying to contact someone so we can pickup her belongings to no avail. We thought since she was no longer a patient at the facility maybe they would answer the phone. Apparently they have a do not answer phone policy. They also have cute way of mixing up medications and and patients and then hanging up right after they say their going to give your loved one a deadly narcotics. ! I called back immediately of course no answer this was at 11pm, I wasn't able to get through to anyone until 5am . It's hard enough putting a loved one in a place like that,it's even worse during Covid . This place is your worst rest home nightmare right out of the movies. We aren't able to get her belongings, her very very expensive medications, her CELLPHONE, LAP TOP, AND DENTURES! Stay away. RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN!!!

I would never recommend Mission and my mom used to live here. Their food is terrible and I'm not even sure what they were serving their residents. It was not palatable. The place is not that clean. The staff were not attentive at all. The ground were old and not kept up very well.

My dad is in Mission Carmichael. The room that he is in is a shared room, but it is okay. What I really like about it is that it is not a lock down facility and we can visit him anytime.
