While in Orlando checking out assisted living facilities for my friend's mother, we visited Grace Manor Retirement. My friend's mother would like to stay in Florida, so this would be an ideal location for her and the family. The outside was park-like with nice shrubs, trees and lawns. There were also many nice seating areas. We were impressed with the main foyer which had a lovely receiving area. The communal areas all had interesting activities with games and other resident social interactions. The exercise room had easy access equipment and they also offer classes. We could see that the residents were enjoying themselves. The dining areas had nice options. They offer more intimate or communal dining, which residents can choose from. They also have a private space for parties. The menu and food choices all looked and smelled nutritious and delicious, as well as the regular snacks - offered continually and whenever residents desire them. We could see that my friend's mother would be comfortable in any one of the units. The living suites were all a nice size and did not seem cramped. They were also beautifully decorated. Each one had individually controlled temperatures. The patio areas also had barbeques to host private parties.Events and outings scheduled include anything from you restaurants, to art museums, and the library, music, film and theater venues. The facility hosts monthly parties for residents which they encourage friends and family to attend. This is a lovely facility with caring and attentive staff. All of the resident's needs appear to be met with friendly and caring staff.
