    I visited this facility

We went to Azalea Gardens, it was beautiful, it was clean, and everybody was very friendly. It was very appropriate. When you walk in, you have to be buzzed in, and I liked that. When you walked in through the gate, they have a beautiful, little rock garden and waterfall. They have lots of butterfly-attracting plants, and it's very pleasing and peaceful. I liked the way the rooms were laid out; there's an open walk way when you stepped out of your room and step outside. They have morning exercise and arts and crafts, they have a social room where they have a piano, and people come in and play music for the residents. They have a nice, little dining area, and I know they go on field trips where they go to the movies and the mall. They keep the residents busy. The staff is very friendly and very caring.

    I visited this facility

Azalea Gardens seemed very pleasant and very quiet. We saw some of the residents sitting outside, and they seemed to be well taken care of. We walked by the kitchen and everything seemed to be in order. This is some place that I would love to put my mother-in-law into, but right now, she doesn’t want to go.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My husband has terminal cancer as it became clear that I couldn't take care of him anymore at home I put him in Azalea gardens. I can't say enough wonderful things about this place.Everyone was so helpful and nice. And it's a small place with a lovely garden and koi pond not to mention their 5 star chefs who cook amazing meals cooked from scratch. They took him out for fresh air 3 times a day and when he fidnt want to eat in the dining room they derived him in his room. I am more than satisfied at the wonderful caring staff and would highly recommend them to anyone. A wonderful place if ever I saw one.

My mother is in Azalea Gardens assisted living. It's not very big. The staff seem to know what they're doing, and it seems to be a nice place. There are usually two people per room. The food and dining set ups are good. They do chair exercises, play bingo, and take them out twice a week.

We liked Azalea except the rooms were outside, and they didn’t like that part of it. The staff was fine. The people were watching TV when we visited the facility.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My friend has already been living more than a month in Azalea Gardens. It is smaller, and my friend lived all his life in his own home, so it wasn't too overwhelming. Most of the time, the people can be outside. They have a big area in the middle of the courtyard where it's all lightly shaded, and they have all the activities out there if it's not raining. It's very personal. The caretakers and the owner are very caring. They're always approachable. I think he is adjusting fairly well to living there. They have activities 3 times a week. They take them to parks, they take them to museums. They take them out to lunch, but these are extra costs. In the afternoon, they always have some exercises. They play games, they have music, and they have someone coming in playing the piano. There is always something where the residents can enjoy themselves. That was the best I could find for Harry, including that it was within his budget. I have asked several residents, and they all say the food is excellent. They have a small dining room, so they have 2 sittings. The first one is for residents who can still eat on their own, and the second sitting is for residents who need assistance. He actually gained some pounds back. He enjoys the food. I like the way they have the rooms arranged. Everything is tiled, and the owner refurnished it, so everything is clean and easy to clean. They have big bathrooms with big showers where it's fairly safe for them to take a shower or be given a shower.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

At first I was apprehensive about putting my mother in law into an assisted living facility. Azalea gardens has proven to be a overall satisfying experience for her. The staff is usually warm, friendly and accomodating of her needs. One specific example I can think of is when she first began residing there. She didn't have a great transition at first. She would stay introverted and cry and became depressed. We were notified of the changes. She also spoke with an on staff psychologist about how she felt. The psychologist worked with the other staff members to ensure her that being at Azalea was the best new change in her life. Then after we saw her much more happier. She is involved in the music club, and is apart of the crocheting club at the facility. In addition she looks forward to taking soaking in the amenities they have which include a pond, a vegetable garden and a water fall on site. When we visit she is always surrounded by a welcoming staff. If there are any weaknesses they have, I believe that they need more night staffers. My mother in law has complained to us that when she has nightmares at times. Sometimes she needs a health aide to help her at night but there is little help available. We have complained and the have been promised that more health aides will be hired to ensure safety. Overall, we are pleased to have her there.
