The owner and the staff have always been pleasant and my parents seemed happy and content. It has been reassuring knowing that my parents are taken care of so well. "We toured Oakmonte Village of Davie. The atmosphere seems to be one of happiness. In some other places, people were there but not happy being there. At Oakmonte, it looked like people were actually happy going to different tasks and experiences. They seemed to be happy. I was also happy to see that they had ping-pong, which is also a wonderful thing to do. They had a treadmill. The food looked more mediocre than at other facilities, but the other things were nice. It was sunny, the people were attempting to please, and the person who took us around had a very positive outlook and was very proud of what he was doing. He believes very much in Oakmonte. So do I."

"We have chosen The Palms at Plantation for my parents because it's close to our house. We can just go over there more times a day. The staff members were very knowledgeable about the subject and had a lot of experience. Each person there was pulled from another facility, so they all had long-term experience. They have all kinds of activities. They have nursing staff like RNs besides LPNs. They have an activity director, too. The director has been very knowledgeable and helpful."

"We chose it because of the convenience to the facilities that we are familiar with. They have programs to keep us busy. We're happy with our choice and the facilities there. My wife and I will be having a two-bedroom and two baths. It's a great place. "

"Covenant Living of Florida is an excellent place to be. There's a lot of ambulatory people. Sometimes you visit a place, and they have a lot of people with walkers, and that turns me off. The rooms are very nice. They're adequate for one person. The staff who gave the tour was excellent. She was very accommodating and answered all my questions. I tried out the food, but it was Octoberfest so I didn't like that type of food. The place was very clean. Everything seemed to be accessible."

"We met a lot of staff at Belmont Village Fort Lauderdale. It was a beautiful facility. It might have been tough for me to be there even if we could have afforded it, because they have a lot of glass windows on their top floor, and a lot of that creates problems for me with the glare. We still liked them a lot, and we were impressed with them, but the cost was not doable, so it's not for me. The people were very nice and very helpful. We met the chef and somebody else. When we went in there, we were aware of the security quite early, because they gave us name tags and they wanted to see our ID, that kind of stuff. They were very impressive. The other thing we were interested in was their food provider."

"The Palace At Weston is truly a terrific place. The staff really cares and there are so much to do. My parents have been happy there since they opened four years ago. I have great peace of mind knowing that my loved ones while taken care of."

"The Meridian at Waterways is where I would want to go if I needed to go somewhere. I was extremely happy with it. They are a rather new development. It's right on a major waterway. The views are fantastic. The dining is on the seventh floor, and you have views of the ocean and the waterway. It just appealed to me immensely. There's beautiful artwork in the common areas and the hallways. It was nice. The staff was fantastic. I met with the chef and he explained the meals that they prepare and the fact that if you have a favorite recipe from your family, you bring it in and he will prepare it. If you have a favorite cookie recipe, he will make cookies for you. It was just a good feeling. It was beautiful. The rooms are reasonably sized. The only comment I would have is the windows in the various rooms seem to be small, but then when you're in your room, I don't think you stand around looking out the window. I would like larger windows, but they are what they are. There's the ease of parking. The entryway has a beautiful sculpture as you enter the lobby. They have a nice receptionist and receiving area. The hallways are not long and hotel-like. They seem to be very short. All in all, I was very very impressed with it."

"My mother has been in The Pointe of North Gables for a month now. I like the round-the-clock care. The administrators are very competent and helpful. The amenities are good. My mother's room is clean, fairly spacious, and well-lit. For activities, there's music and TV, they play games and do some crafts, and there are little social events like ice cream. I have tried their food. It's tasty, it's varied, and it's served punctually at regular schedules. The quality of the food is good."

"I went to Springtree Senior Living. I thought they were very customer friendly and very thorough. The eating facilities, the amenities, the upgrades, the furnishings, and their decorations were outstanding. It's a really nice facility parents-wise. They even welcomed us by putting our names on the little board that says, "For 12:30 appointment, we welcome Jeff and Sonia," and so forth, and I just thought that was a nice touch. I really, really enjoyed that tour."

"I toured Forest Trace Senior Living. The scenery and setting are gorgeous. The staff was really very welcoming. The gentleman whom I spoke with informed me. He was very thorough and explained to me that there are different levels, which I didn't know, with memory care, like stage one, two, three, and four. And they're also priced differently depending on their needs. It was very nice. I like the way it was laid out, and I like the fact that the memory care unit was on the first floor, versus most of the places that have the memory care units on the second or third floor, which I didn't like. The staff was very helpful to the people in taking the tour and going from room to room. The companion room or a shared room, I thought, was very large compared to others I saw. And they were very clean."
