"I visited Victoria Villa Assisted Living. They have a very nice property outside of the building. They have the pond, fruit trees, and palm trees, and it really looks very nice, but it's still very sad because people are pretty much at their last breath or very close to it. I like the marketing director, or whoever she was, who was talking to me. She was very professional, and she knew immediately that I wouldn't be interested in it. It's a very small place. The majority of the people are not able to eat by themselves. They are given very good service. I saw the nurse or the aide feeding the elderly woman who was totally out of it. Physical appearance was good. It was clean. There were no smells of any kind, which I'm very sensitive to. The staff was very much on point. I didn't spend much time there, but whatever my questions were, she answered them all easily and readily. I think she's a good person to be with that facility and to understand the condition of those people. This is a community for people who are suffering from the last stages of dementia. A person like me or my sister would not want to move there. It has to be known before people come because I came there for no reason at all. They did open some doors into their rooms, and there are some rooms where people are getting hospice care. I did not see the regular assisted living residents. The ones I saw were people with dementia or memory problems. They were in the process of not remodeling, but painting and doing all this cosmetic stuff. I'm sure it will look great."

"We chose here because it's two miles from where my son lives. It has everything we need. It's brand new, the general appearance and layout seem to be great, and it's very convenient for us. The staff has been very helpful, the dining area looks great, and so far, we're happy and satisfied. The people we saw there when we visited seemed to be happy."

"We have chosen The Palms at Plantation for my parents because it's close to our house. We can just go over there more times a day. The staff members were very knowledgeable about the subject and had a lot of experience. Each person there was pulled from another facility, so they all had long-term experience. They have all kinds of activities. They have nursing staff like RNs besides LPNs. They have an activity director, too. The director has been very knowledgeable and helpful."

"We chose it because of the convenience to the facilities that we are familiar with. They have programs to keep us busy. We're happy with our choice and the facilities there. My wife and I will be having a two-bedroom and two baths. It's a great place. "

"It has been there for ages. It is a buy-in community. We were invited there through one of our church organizations and they took us around and showed us what was available. I do like its location, although the community itself is too big and too spread out. It isn't one big building, it is more like a college campus. When people have to go to the main room, from their apartments, they have to go and make a trip over to that area. I was not impressed with that. Food is good but not as good as with the other community I visited. We had lunch there and they served their food more like cafeteria-style. I don't know whether that's the way they serve food for their residents or just for the guests, but you have to go and get your food. If I'm going to spend the money that they are asking, I would prefer they serve me my meal and that I don't have to go through a cafeteria line. Regarding activities, the only thing I saw were people sitting around, playing cards and so forth and that was about it. However, given that their apartments are nice and that they have good staff, I would still not consider living in this community. "

"Belmont Village Fort Lauderdale is a beautiful facility. The people were really nice. We just didn't like the location, and it was a little expensive. We didn't find the particular apartment we liked, and we didn't like the view. We didn't like the location basically, but it looked nice. They offered a lot. They had a nice little gym and rehab was available. The pool was nice. The dining room was nice. It just wasn't the right fit for us. The staff during the tour was very good, very nice, very pleasant, and very helpful. We also met one of the physical therapists, and we spoke with him a little bit. I wasn't crazy about the kitchen. They had a very small refrigerator and a two-burner stove. It was more like for making lunches and stuff. The apartments were nice. We didn't find one that jumped out at us. Most of the views were of rooftops. We're used to a golf course view and ocean view. The dining room was very nice, and the menus looked good. It's a new, clean, and beautiful facility. I'm sure it's perfect for so many people. They have a pool. They have some chairs to help people get into the pool if they are limited. They had an exercise room and physical therapists there. They had gardens, card rooms, and a library. It had wide halls. It had a nice feel to it. It just wasn't the location for us. Everything was new and nice. It's kept up well."

"Just from first impressions, the place is kept clean and provides a welcoming atmosphere. The security guard at the gate was very informative and courteous. He allowed me in to talk to the seniors inside about Toys for TOTS, a non-profit organization that collects toys for the holidays to give out to low-income families and their children. The elderly were very sweet and had brought some donations. Everyone seems very pleasant and happy living here. No concerns were expressed. I asked an elderly woman about her home here at The Palace and she expressed how grateful she was that Publix was a short walking distance. She said she couldn't drive due to poor vision, but she also wanted to maintain her independence. This Palace was a right fit for this sweet woman. She could get her shopping done while living in an environment with others just like her.Another gentleman approached me and said he wanted to leave his previous living facility. His previous nursing home was filled with nurses that he described as 'rude and unapologetic.' However, at the Palace, he recovered from his medical conditions and was able to live in with his wife while having weekend visits with his grandchildren. He mentioned that at the nursing home, he feared his grandchildren could catch a communicable disease.Overall, The Palace at Weston Senior Living is a wonderful place to reside. With all the gardening always being maintained and with such new facilities, one couldn't find a nicer place to live at. Friendly staff and residents equals a happy retirement. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to move in with sweet senior residents. "

"We actually placed my mother here. We liked the warmth of the people, we liked the homey atmosphere of the memory unit, and we thought that the price was very fair. The memory unit services are really based upon the amount of care that she needed. We thought that they were very caring and that they were very knowledgeable on how to handle memory impaired people. One of our family members -- my brother, my sister, and myself -- talks to them, and that's how we reach my mother, so they get feedback. "

"I moved in, and it's excellent. It's a beautiful place. They offer just about everything, but I don't participate in a lot. I have a one-bedroom, one-bath apartment that's quite large. It's well worth the money."
