Oakmonte Village of Davie

We toured Oakmonte Village of Davie. It was very new, like less than five years old. It was very much like a five-star hotel. It was beautiful. In all the different buildings, they had a piano with a bar area, and they had 4:00 pm happy hours. As we were leaving, we saw the shuttle come and people getting on the shuttle. We walked by a class that they were doing, sort of a chair yoga class. We loved everything about it except that it's a little far from my house and my mom's worried about that. The sales staff that took us around knew all the financials and these kinds of things, but he didn't necessarily represent a tour.

We chose Oakmonte Village of Davie for my dad. It was set up nicely. The facility was aesthetically pleasing. Overall, we liked the location, the amenities, the services, and the feel of the place. It just felt like home, which was what we were looking for for him. The staff who assisted us was very friendly, professional, and appeared to be caring. Everyone had a nice demeanor to them. They would do cleaning services and laundry once a week. Meals were included, which was 3 times a day. They also had transportation services for local areas.

The Oakmonte Village of Davie had more people and activities as opposed to the other ones we looked at. The people who lived there were better engaged than the people in other communities. The staff members were very nice. They were able to engage with my mom, so she was more interested in going there as opposed to the other ones that were more standoffish. The facility seemed like it was well- maintained. The rooms were nice. The grounds overall were well kept. It looks like they have sufficient amenities.

The lady that met with me at Oakmonte Village of Davie assisted living was very thorough, was on time, and very helpful. The place itself is only a few years old and it was like a luxury residence. It has a nice lobby area, a nice array of activities, and a very nice dining area that's like a restaurant. They provide all 3 meals and they have activities all day long, including a happy hour at 4:00 with entertainment. They also have a pool.

My wife is in Oakmont Village of Davie. So far, it looks very, very good. We're very happy with it. There's a separate building for memory care. It's only about five years old, and it's in excellent condition. The layout is very nice. My wife said the food has been good, but I haven't tried any. They have a lot of on-hand activities all day long. They have people come in to do the salon work, but we haven't used any of that yet. Her room is pretty spacious. It's kind of a studio with a sitting area and a separate bedroom, big bathroom, very high ceilings, and it's overlooking a solarium or garden area outside. It's very nice. The management seems to be very good. The people have all been there a long time. They're very attentive. Everybody that's involved has been very nice. Everything is good.

My Mother, Amelia was a resident at Oakmonte for over four years. Our family never had to worry because we knew she was in good hands. We were happy with the care that she received. Everyone was always helpful and kept us informed about her health. When we went to visit her, the building was always clean and the staff was always great. It felt more like a nice hotel instead of an assisted living facility. My Mother recently passed away of natural causes. They made sure she was kept comfortable and peaceful. Also, that we as a family was part of all that was going on and made it as easy for us. It was a very hard time for us and we thank them for all they did. Sincerely, Joanmarie & Family
