"The Windsor at San Pablo was a beautiful place. The room and everything they showed us looked beautiful. They just couldn't take my mother in. She needed too much care, but everybody I talked to seemed very friendly and very helpful."

"Windsor Pointe of Jacksonville has a lot of events. They include people who have come in to look at the facilities and they still reach out to them, and I've been to several of their functions. It's just a beautiful place. They have everything. They have an actual movie theater. The food that the chef serves is delicious. It's top-notch. You wouldn't even have to leave its facility to go anywhere. Then they have a lot of outside excursions to museums, orchestras, and just everything you could want. For Thanksgiving, they have a "Come in and Meet the team". They do a tour and you pick up a pie that this chef made. I have their key lime pie. It was delicious. I've never had that before. I didn't think I liked that but I almost ate the whole thing. The staff is very engaging and even the people that live there, always come out and tell you how great it is."

"My mom will stay where she is at, which is here. We just worked some other financial things out to make it more affordable. It's a wonderful place, and we don't want her to leave. The food is good, it is not 100% like home, but they do a nice job. The staff members are the best ever. Everyone is just amazing. This place is the best we have been at. They have lots of activities. They have the regular arts and crafts, exercise, music, and speakers. They do a wonderful job, they don't ever slack on anything, and they really provide great care. Most everything is inside, but they have a garden type place that they can go out, and there's a gazebo and a courtyard, too."

"I toured Better Days Senior Living. The outside was very inviting, and things were very clean and neat. It looked like someone's home when I walked there. The air was refreshing, and the residents talked to us as they came out. They were talking and very inviting. The staff came out, as they were going about their business. They introduced themselves and they welcomed us, and so everything was very nice. The staff was friendly."

"I looked at Cypress Village. That was nice. I like it but it costs a fortune to get in there. The grounds are beautiful, the apartments are nice, the services are good but too expensive. The person who accommodated me during the tour, she's very good."

"My friend has moved into The Cove at Marsh Landing. They're clean, well-maintained, and very friendly. The day that we brought her in, they made her feel special, so I was ecstatic about that. The staff is very friendly, very cooperative, and very helpful. She's been very happy with the food. Yesterday, she told me she loved it. She and her girlfriend both enjoyed it. They have a gym, a hair salon, and a nail salon. They have a whole bunch of different activities. The other day, when I was there, somebody was performing, singing, and playing music. I like the presentation, I like the appearance, I like the friendliness of the people, and it was a good quality for the money."

"Brookdale Southpoint was a one floor facility, which was something that I was interested in. There was not a huge number of total beds. Their memory care unit was secure. They have a shared living suite or a room for two, but that's not what I wanted. I wanted more of a companion suite where the rooms are separated. The tour was still fine. People were very nice and I liked the place. They had an activity room, a library, and LifeStations. I met one of the women that worked in the memory care unit and I really liked her approach on how she communicates and deals with the residents."

"I liked Sunrise of Jacksonville. I liked the openness of it. The place was very clean and it didn't smell like a nursing home or a hospital. It was very pleasant and everything was tiptop, as far as I could see. The rooms were good-sized, and the bathrooms were large with walk-in showers. I liked the dining situation and they had a room that you could get by yourself if you had a party for your father or mother. Everybody there was just super friendly. I've spoken to a couple of residents there and they were super nice. The one thing that stood out to me the most was that the young lady that took me around on the tour said, "We live in their world. We're here to help them in any way we can help.""

"I toured Brookdale Southside. It's a resort. If I were being retired and looking for that, I would put that at the top of the list. It has a pool. It has everything. The staff who gave the tour was very professional and detailed, and focused on what your needs are and what you're looking for. They're very compassionate. I've seen a couple of the residents' rooms and the model. It's very detailed, very clean, and perfect for what you need."

"Brookdale Avondale was very, very clean. When I walked in, I didn't smell anything. The staff showed us the entire place, and it was very nice. I love the way it was set up because it felt like an apartment setting as opposed to a nursing home. All the doors were closed. They had addresses or names or some type of identity on every door. And I was just impressed. It was sparkling. The staff who gave the tour was wonderful. She was so patient and so caring. She was great. The dining room was clean. They had a library. Everything was clean, nice, and comfortable looking."

"My grandmother will be moving in. It was a very nice facility and it was perfect. It was very clean and very elegant. There were a lot of activities that they had for the residents, which was great. The staff who assisted me was very thoughtful, caring, considerate, and thorough, and she answered all of my questions. They had a movie theater, arts and crafts, a game room, a physical therapy room, a hair salon, and a pool with a treadmill underneath the water. They had common areas, a dining area, and a private dining area where if you had a small group of people, you could have a nice little private dining experience. They had sort of an ice cream parlor section in the dining room, which was nice."

"We went to Camellia at Deerwood for my ward. We liked everything about it, the staff, the availability of activities, and the socialization. The staff was very professional and engaging. They talked to the ward to see what her likes and dislikes were. They have a dining room where they come and take your order. They have waiters and you get to order from a menu, three meals a day. The rooms are nice and everything is airy. Everything is nicely carpeted, cleaned, and painted. My ward, who I took, has been adamant about not moving at all. And before we left, she said, "I like this place.""

"My spouse is happy at Amelia Springs Assisted Living. The thing I like best about it and what drew me to it is that it's more like a private home. My spouse hated those that look so institutional, the big impersonal places. Carolina was helpful, efficient, and good to the patients. She knows all their names. She goes around and speaks with them and interacts with them. I couldn't ask for better staff. She is the only person I know so far because just after I placed my spouse in there, I came home, got sick, and I've been sick ever since. I haven't been able to go back, but Carolina has since then helped me over the phone and told me how my spouse was doing, etc., so I have nothing but good to say. Everything was very clean. It seems to be a rather old facility, but to me, it's in good shape. The outside is beautiful. I had no complaints whatsoever as far as that was concerned. I feel comfortable there. I think my spouse's room is adequate. The bathroom is more than adequate. It is fine for one person, I wouldn't want two people in there. It's adequate because, in the memory care unit, everything is close by. My spouse goes out of her room, and there's the TV room and the dining room. Everybody is mostly out walking around talking to each other, so I think that's good. I would recommend that highly."

"We have a social worker ( Mrs. A. McDowell) that is a Gods Blessing. She has helped me get help for my husband, he had a stroke in 2006. It is hard for me to take of him and help my self. I have a back and shoulder problems. She has got us help from all available sources. Thank You, Mrs McDowell for beening our angel. "
