EXCEPTIONAL SERVICES IN EVERY WAY!!! MY FRIEND OWES HIS LIFE TO THE KIND, PROFESSIONAL, AND BRILLIANT CARE GIVEN AT MONTEREY PALMS! IN JUST THE FIRST FEW DAYS, HE IS MUCH BETTER PHYSICALLY AND EMOTIONALLY! HIS QUESTIONS ABOUT HIS MEDICATIONS WERE ANSWERED PROFESSIONALLY AND IN AN UNDERSTANDABLE WAY - THIS MADE HIM FEEL MORE COMFORTABLE AND SAFE. BLESS THE HEARTS OF THE ENTIRE STAFF!

If you are seeking a rehab/SNF you would be so lucky to find space here. The staff is amazing- caring, respectful and professional. My father was here recently and received wonderful care, as did I. It is a difficult decision to place a family member in a SNF and I read reviews of several quickly as I was seeking placement for my father. I hope this review helps you feel confident that this is a great facility.

My 86-year-old mother had major surgery and spent two months at the Monterey Palms Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF). As far as SNF go, I am pleased to say that this facility is one of the best. No SNF is perfect, but at this facility everyone from the Director, to Supervisors, RN’s, CNA’s, physical, occupational and speech therapists, and housekeeping staff were caring, professional and overall wonderful humans. Even when minor challenges arose, they addressed the issues as quickly as possible. The staff treated my mom and me with great respect and good humor. They answered my questions and helped train me on the care my mom will need once home. If my mom has to go back for rehab, I wouldn’t hesitate to have her go to Monterey Palms. I wish I could call out the staff by name but I don’t want to miss anyone because they all deserve a huge thank you and to know how much they are appreciated. Thank you all!

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My brother is a resident and requires probably a little more assistance than normal. I receive calls from Nurses complaining that he requires more assistance than normal. This is their job. Deal with it. I offer assistance when I can but on the day to day stuff, they are either under qualified or lazy. Pick one.

The Rehab employees GREAT.. 2.) 1 nurse there was fantastic with even having a great work load during the day(wish I remember her name; 3) Head of nurses, a bit helpful, but not consistent in her actions; 4) Facility food horrible, variety and nutrition questionable; 5) The place smelled horrible of urination!!!! 6) Eye glasses taken accidently on food tray, staff notified 3 times. claim filed back in Feb. 2020. To date, no response. 7) If family member needing wound care or anything critical please stay there with them to make sure done and done right. 8) Also, trying to get help at nurses station, you will stand there , they will look at you and walk off, without even asking if you can be helped. Need better training .

Hello! My wife Lauren has on 3 occasions been cared for at Monterey Palms. Our experience could not have been better. Lauren was treated like the angel that she is. We've been married for 54 years. Staff for the most part we're caring and in some cases loving. Typically staff is reflective of a patient's attitude and behavior, admittedly some patients can be very stubborn and difficult to please and it may cause some negative results but Lauren's disposition is cheerful and compliant. We would recommend the Palms for the care of your loved ones. Thank you (Luz, the director) and staff, to my mind you are heroes. Doug

My mother went to Monterey Palms for rehab, but I had to take her out because of the environment. The people that do the daily care are not necessarily the nurses. We didn't interact with the nurses, but the helpers treated them like they were a burden. My mother would ask for water, they would not bring her water, and she would have to harass them just to get water. The management wanted it to be a good facility, but the staff didn't care. However, the lady in charge of the nurses was very good. The facility was fine, and everything was easily accessible. She shared a room, there was a bathroom, a little sink, and a curtain separated her from her roommate. It has a little TV in front, a side table, and a chair for guest. I had to bring her food, because she felt weird about the food there, and every time they had seafood, everyone got sick.

My mother was a patient at Monterey Palms and it was a horrible experience! The quality of care was extremely poor. I would not recommend by his place to my worst enemy.

Monterey Palms Healthcare Center was recommended to my brother when he was at the hospital, so he went there and it was one of the worst experiences we ever had. The staff was horrible. His wound care was almost non-existent and we had doctor's orders. The room was nice; it was a large private room. Their administrative staff was horrible. He just didn't like it and neither did we as a family. They need to improve on just about everything.
