"My husband almost fell off the wheelchair if we hadn't caught him. I talked to the nurse about it, and she said that the wheelchair he has is too small for him and that they would keep an eye for him. But it disturbs us a lot because if we hadn't been there, he would have gone right to the floor. The room he's in is a little too crowded. But aside from that Braswell's Yucaipa Valley is very clean and really nice. "

"My mom is in Braswell Family Senior Care. They’re very adept at caring for Alzheimer's patients. She never has to ask to go to the bathroom. They anticipate her needs before she even has the need. They deal with it so positively and so calmly that the patients always have the attention that they need. If there’s negative behavior from the patients due to their Alzheimer's, they have trained professional treatment from the caregivers, nurses, and CNAs. They treat the patients with love and respect. My mom has really bad outbursts, and even with her difficult behavior, they love her anyway. I’m so happy my mom is there. They have alarmed doors. You have to have a code to get out of the unit where she is. If they had a tendency to wander, they have an ankle bracelet, so they’ll set off an alarm. The food is delicious. She has gained weight, and she is healthy. She had a sore that wouldn’t heal, and now it’s healing. The difference is amazing. They really monitor her. They know her every move, and they communicate with me. We’re so pleased. Her room is clean, and it’s an older place. The bed is clean and comfortable, and she has her own dresser. She is allowed to have pictures on her wall so she can make it as homey as she needs to. Their focus is more on the patient than the room. It’s very adequate, and they don’t let her in her room by herself very often. They try to keep her busy and out with the other people into activities. They’ll watch movies. They have exercises where they’ll bounce the balloon back and forth with one another. They’ll have a quiet time where they’ll dim the lights and play soft music, and a lady puts candles around so it’s very calming. They’ll play bingo or cards. They’ll have a time where they’ll read the newspaper together and do current events. Everybody gets to be involved at whatever level that they’re at. When somebody is not able to participate or starts acting up, they take them out and put them in a different area so nobody upsets anybody. They handle it as best they can. "

"My mother had rehab in Cedar Mountain Post Acute Rehabilitation (Braswell's Hampton), and our experience with them was excellent. I was very happy. They had bingo going on all the time, music, movies, manicures, and every day there's an activity. They're under a very expensive remodel right now, so part of the place had been remodeled and part wasn't. The care that she got and the people are very loving. I visit there every day and sometimes at odd hours, and everyone was very attentive. I really like that they had six rooms with three on each side of the hall, and a nurse and an LPN always in the middle. If anything is needed, they're right there. The rooms were adequate in size but needed a lot of work. The paint and the bathroom were a little outdated. They were working on that when we were there. The staff was wonderful, really nice to my mom, friendly and great. I really liked the staff."

"My father is at Bradley Gardens Convalescent. One of the biggest factors for us was that it accepts his insurance. Every so often they will have different people come in as entertainment. They do crafts. The staff members are there fairly quickly when needed."

"When I visited this facility, I found that they were understaffed. The CNAs were taking on too many tasks at one time, and were not able to give their patients quality care. I asked one CNA how many patients she had that evening and she said she averaged 12-15 a night. She appeared to be overwhelmed by the tasks at hand, but she didn't stop. She was giving her patients the best care she could. I asked her how long she had been a CNA and she told me that she had just finished school, so the lack of experience could have attributed to her stress level and the amount of time it took for her to complete a task. The facility looked and smelled clean. The patients seemed to be happy with the nursing staff and the care they were receiving. My friend's mother and father loved their nurse and had no complaints. Patients didn't normally have private rooms, but my friend's parents were in a room together, all the other rooms were all men or all women. Most of them were only two patients to a room, but some rooms had three patients per room. If my family member needed to be placed in an assisted living facility, I would look to this facility as a strong possibility. "

"Mom is in San Jacinto Healthcare, a nursing and a rehab facility. They got my mother on the air mattress because of the wound, and she has to be turned around from time to time. The food is brought to her, and she is eating everything, so she is doing fine there. They have a place that you can either visit in a courtyard or in an open den area. They also have exercise equipment where they have to do exercises from time to time, so they can stay mobile. They are very attentive to her needs, and they answered every question that we had. If my mom needs something, they are there right away. They are polite, courteous, and professional. "

"My father is in Ramona Rehabilitation and post acute care center for rehab. It's fine, it's clean, and organized. The staff is attentive. He does physical therapy, but I saw people doing activities. On Valentine's Day they had a quartet there, they played game, reading, and all kinds of stuff."

"If you have any patient that's hard to deal with, Braswell's Ivy Retreat in Mentone would be the one because the staff is fantastic. It's a quite old facility, but they keep it very clean. They only have two in a room, so it's not bad. "

"My 93-year-old mother was in Manor Care for a week. She was treated like she was everyone's mom and grandmother. The staff was amazing, kind and patient. They made her feel so special. They have so many activities for the residents and, if family members are present, are invited to attend as well. There's even a patio with a grill for picnics! But, again, most importantly, was the staff and how my Mom was treated. I was so impressed as was she, She always felt safe and both cared for and about. This place is wonderful! I would recommend Manor Care to anyone and everyone!"

"Rancho Bellagio Post Acute is clean, new, and well landscaped. The physical therapy and occupational therapy are terrific. They do a good job. The dining area is adequate. They have an activities room and Mom spends a good deal of time in there. They do bingo and artwork like coloring and painting. Medicare is actually paying for the whole thing."

"My mom was at Highland Care Center of Redlands. That one has mixed reviews because she would have to call me on my own phone so I could tell the front desk and have someone come to the room. They provided the physical therapy and stuff like that, but if you put your room light on to call, they just never respond to it, so she would call me at home, and I would call the front desk to tell them that she needed something so that they could go and address her concern. Once I would get a hold of them, they seemed to be pretty quick to respond. They were very nice. The facility seemed clean. It was a little bit dated, but clean. I wouldn't know about their activities because my mom was non-ambulatory recovering from surgery. And the value for the money, insurance covered it."

"We like Plymouth Village very much. We like the location. We enjoyed it very much. It was all separate homes for people who are very independent. Most people there still drive. It's a fairly large area, so they drive from their homes to the restaurant. The restaurant was excellent. We got a sample meal there and it was really great. They have an excellent dining room and a library. They provide transportation to the dining room if you need it. They also provide transportation to go to shopping and to other activities. They have a lot going for us."
