"I went to Brookdale Sunwest. I first visited them two years ago, and I had a meal then, and the food was good. It was a nice facility. The staff was very nice. The facility was very nice. They have a whole range of facilities, like a hotel, and then they have individual units, almost like a home you can stay in."

"We love Westmont of Riverside. It was excellent. We toured one room and that was the one we ended up wanting. It's very clean. We had lunch there and the food was excellent. The service was good. We enjoyed it, and when we looked at some of the activities, it was just a lot of fun. It was very similar to where we live now, which is just a plain senior community. The person during the tour turned out to be pretty good. Initially, she was, we thought, a little bit too aloof, but she became warmer as we proceeded. I even talked to some of the residents and they were very positive too."

"I've been in Hacienda Senior Living Assisted Living & Memory Care a little over a year. I'm in assisted living. I take care of myself. They just give me my medication, feed me, and shower me, and that's it. It's very good. I love it here. It's not like some of the other ones that are real big. This is smaller and you get more care. I have my own room. They have a fountain outside the grounds and they have fruit trees here. They take good care of you. They're really nice. I really like them all. It's excellent food. They give you so much food. We don't have a lot of activities. They're in the process of hiring somebody to come in here and do activities with us. There's another section where people need more help, have Alzheimer's, and stuff like that. The people where I'm at can take care of themselves, and there are only about five of us in this area. Value for money is OK."

"I visited Pico De Loro. Everything was very nice. I had a lot of resources but the cost was too much. They showed everything, the rooms, the bedding, and the dining areas. I sampled the meal and the food was good. The facility was great. It's very clean. They had very nice and good quality programs for them. The staff was helpful and easygoing."

"I really like it. My mom is getting the best care. I love the fact she has her own studio apartment in a cottage. She has all her own belongings around her. Great staff. Very friendly."

"From the minute I walked into Villas at San Bernardino I was extremely satisfied. I felt like I was part of the family. The reception was very welcoming. The director came and introduced himself to us. I saw the dining room, which looked like a restaurant, and I was just totally impressed. The residents there looked happy and content. Then what they did for us, which just blew me away, was when we arrived about lunchtime, they served us lunch. They gave us the menu and let us sit in their room for a banquet. It was just a private room, like if your family were to come and eat with you. It was very impressive. The tour was impeccable. I felt like we were at a hotel, like at a Marriott or something. The setup is just beautiful. It's very clean and you can tell how well the place is by the residents. They had smiles on their faces, came up and spoke to us, and shared their opinions about the place with us. It's topnotch. I had driven by that place many times before and I thought it was way out of my budget, but after going in I realized it is possible. If my brother would help me, we would have to pay out of pocket. He could go there, but it would have to be a one-bedroom. The rooms were very nice. I was very pleased. It's somewhere I would want to go to myself, if I had to. There was a mix of people of ethnic backgrounds there, because we're African American, so it was nice to see some African American faces as well as caucasian faces and Hispanic faces. So that made me feel comfortable. They were excellent. They had a salad bar. I was so impressed."

"I really like Sun City Gardens. The place is beautiful. The room and the studio were both very nice. The studio has a nice-sized room and I could fit what I have now. They don't have a kitchen, just a little kitchenette because they cook the meals for the residents. I have eaten there and the food is delicious. The people there are friendly. They have a bus that takes the residents out to different places like going to the doctor and restaurants. "

"I toured WellQuest of Menifee Lakes. When I got there, the power was out. They were doing well. They were doing some work, and this is a facility that has elderly, and they need elevators. I had gotten there right at dinner time, and people were unable to get downstairs to eat. The staff were taking meals to people who couldn't come down to the room. They didn't let the power being out faze them. They were handling it. Things were going on, but they still greeted me pleasantly and took the time. The residents were in the bar. Residents were everywhere. The residents were talking. Some of them didn't want to be in their room with no power, but I could see that they weren't. They were free to come and go as they pleased. The staff and everybody were very nice and helpful. I didn't have an appointment, so they didn't have to show me around, but they did. They took me to a room. They showed me the room as we were walking down the hall. The person I spoke with was making sure people were OK as they opened their doors. A very beautiful facility, but it's very small."

"It was too formal for me. But the people were nice and the food was good. It just didn't appeal to me. It was clean and neat, the residents were happy, but they were pretty formal although I didn't mind that one because I liked that it is in California and is near where my family is."

"Sunny Rose Glen is very good, and we chose them after looking at six other places because they offer a better program. The staff is very good and cooperative, and we have no complaints about the food at all. It's just a clean and orderly place. It's just a small community so everything is all on one level, and getting around is easier."

"Rooms are always kept clean, bedding is new every week. Rooms are always tidy and clean. Smells fresh and clean all the time. Food is always fresh. Prepared each day. Caregiver always gives updates and calls when needed. Easy to talk with her and always have a clear communication line with her. House is well maintained and cleaned at all times. Residents are given meals with snacks, even late night snacks if requested. Visitation is open 7 days a week all hours."

"The Gardens of Riverside felt like my house. It felt very familiar. I'd never been there before, but when I walked in, I felt something familiar. The atmosphere was like what I'm accustomed to, something I grew up in. The staff was very upfront. They weren't shy. Their choice of words, they didn't talk above me or below me. They spoke to me to give me information. They do have a salon, and they have a van that take the residents to different places of interest. They had a little pet farm with goats, a pig, and birds. I'm kind of gearing toward this place."

"My mother moved into Murrieta Gardens, a memory care facility. They are very organized, clean, and sanitary. They are very kind to the residents, and the caregivers were exceptionally nice to my mother. They have many activities throughout the day, like different games they play and daily exercise. The caregivers get the residents involved in making sure that they get dressed every morning, and they escort them to their breakfast, lunch, and dinner, making sure they're eating. They also come around to check on them multiple times a day to make sure that they are okay. I tried the food, and it was delicious. We had a snack one afternoon with my mom; it was a peach cobbler, and it was amazing."
