"My wife is currently at the Villas at San Bernardino. She's in the memory care unit. They do both assisted and memory care. They're very clean. The food smells good. The only thing that they're lacking at all is just a little bit of understaffing, but everybody's having a problem with that. The rooms are nice especially in assisted living, because, memory care has to be under lock and key whereas assisted living does not. They have an elevator. The staff is very nice and very friendly. Nobody's perfect, but they try hard and they're very good. They seem to be very knowledgeable. I just find it hard where to find fault with them. They have a chef. For my wife, everything has to be pureed. She can't eat anything solid without choking, so they make everything. They can fulfill any special diet. She has a roommate and the roommate's daughter and son-in-law, I've met them and talked to them, and they said they looked far and wide and couldn't find a better place."

"Westmont of Riverside was a very nice, very friendly, well-maintained facility, and that would be a possibility when we're ready. We went to the big multistory building, not the individual homes. It had beautiful grounds. It was a very attractive building. Everybody was very, very nice. In the dining room, there might have been 35 or 40 people getting a mid-morning snack or something, waiting for perhaps the lunch to begin. Everybody was very, very courteous and accommodating. Robin took quite a bit of time to explain everything and do the tour. We saw the two-bedroom unit and the one-bedroom unit and they're very attractive and very lovable. The staff was very nice, very friendly, and accommodating. We had a cup of coffee and a glass of water. We saw the dining room and the menu. She explained how the menus work, and the different choices for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It was great. They had a big covered pool, an exercise room, and a woodshop. They do various activities. They have bus service several times a week to doctor's offices, to a local grocery store, or to local shopping. They show a movie. They have large screen TVs on various walls in the facility, which tell what's going on in there. It keeps everybody up-to-date. We saw the calendar for December showing what they were doing all month long on a daily basis, which was nice because then you could choose what you wanted to do or just go down and sit in the chair and enjoy the sunshine. It's very, very nice. I was very impressed. There were lots of grassy areas and big trees. There was hardly any traffic on the various streets and roads that we drove. We drove through quite a bit of the complex just to see what was there. There were lots of walking paths. They have a dog park because when we do go to a senior living facility, we plan to take our dog and our cat."

"The location of Maple Guest Home was perfect. The facility was excellent. I liked the patient-to-staff ratio. Everyone was very professional. I feel that they would be able to perfectly supply the need that we need for my mom. They have a place outside. Mom likes outside to where she can be nice and comfortable and get sunshine. I liked the whole atmosphere."

"I loved Brookdale Sunwest when I got there. The room they showed me was beautiful. It's a one-bedroom. There's one massive closet, a bathroom, a kitchen, and a living room. They have exercise in the swimming pool, and they have a little gym for activities. The staff members are wonderful people. The cleanliness is fabulous. It looks brand new. It's like in the middle of a park. There are open trees, green grass, and ducks. It's just beautiful."

"Pico De Loro is a small place, and I would say the majority of the patients were elderly with dementia. It's a memory care facility. It's kind of an older facility. It's got a nice greenbelt in the back for the patient to walk around. And their smokers were on one side of the greenbelt, and then there was a gazebo. It's very large surrounding the facilities. There was like a grassy area for the patients to go outside and because it is a memory care facility, it's all locked down, so you can't just wander. The rooms were large. There were bathrooms and walk-in showers in every room. There were probably two beds in each room that we saw. It smelt clean. They had a room for games and activities inside. There were a couple of TV rooms. These patients seemed happy. As we toured the facility, they waved to us and said, hi, God bless you. They all seemed content. Some of them were in different stages of dementia or what-have-you. My uncle liked it because it was 20 minutes away from the house and he could visit at any time. The place was quaint and clean and the staff that we met were friendly. The rooms were very large, spacious, and homey. It was a very homey environment, and it was clean. They have showers in the room if you're capable of getting in there and doing it yourself. And if not, they had a walk-in shower in each corridor where the staff could assist in getting the people in there to bathe them with assistance. My uncle saw that the people were content, and the facility was clean. He felt that he could go and visit his wife all day if he wanted to. There would be women there her age. He just got a comforting feeling that she would be happy there because other residents felt contented and happy."

"My husband was in a different facility in Hemet. After he was approved through Medi-cal with a shared cost I began looking for a different facility. I looked at the Village first and stopped looking. The whole process took about 2 weeks and he was moved immediately. The care is excellent. He does not get actual rehab but a rehab aide comes in 5 times a week and works with his legs and arms which the other facility does not offer. The food here is very good. I have nothing bad to say at all. When you go into his room it is very homey and warm. I am glad I found this great place. The staff, facility, food, and care is the best I have found. "

"We visited the memory care of Hacienda Senior Living Assisted Living & Memory Care. I thought it was nice, everybody seemed happy there, and the people were caring. They have just started to fix up the patio so that they would be able to put a table and umbrella and stuff out there. The day we went, the lady that was supposed to show us around had an emergency or something so she wasn't there. One of the other ladies just showed us around. I thought the place was nice, the staff seemed friendly, and the residents seemed happy with them and liked them. When we went in, they came up and greeted the person who did the tour and everybody seemed friendly and caring. It was quiet, which is what I was looking for my husband because that's what he likes. They had a room where they had a TV and a room where they could do activities and things. They're also going to fix up the patio so they can go out when the weather is nice. "

"We're very happy with Erwin Lake, and my father has been there since early December. He is bedridden at this point, so there is not an awful lot that he can do as far as external activities. He hasn't complained about the food, the people there take care of him very well, and his room is very nice. All indications are that he is happy there. My mother and father had been there before, and it turned out we were familiar with it. I would recommend them. They've been very helpful. "
